Former Witcher devs to reveal Blood of Dawnwalker RPG next week

22 April 2026 at 15:00

For years, a group of former Witcher 3 developers have been working on a new game, titled The Blood of Dawnwalker. Now, this vampire-themed RPG is finally nearing launch, with a big showcase scheduled for later this month.

Next week, the team at Rebel Wolves will give us our first look at gameplay from The Blood of Dawnwalker. The showcase reveal will last around 45 minutes, indicating that we'll be getting a deep dive into the game, not just a surface-level trailer.

The reveal takes place on April 28th and we also expect to get a release date during this event. Pre-orders for the game may also go live shortly after the reveal event.

The Blood of Dawnwalker takes place in a fictional region called Vale Sangora during the chaos of the Black Death, a moment when vampires seize the opportunity to rise from the shadows.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: The Blood of Dawnwalker is shaping up to be one of the most interesting games of the year.

Two armored characters face each other in a celestial landscape with the title 'Aion 2' between them.

Today, NC America confirmed that the MMORPG AION 2 will launch later this year globally, following its original debut in South Korea on November 19, 2025. That version was made for mobile and accessible on PC only via NC's own Purple launcher. However, the global version has been built specifically for PC, according to the new press release, and it will also be distributed via Steam. In fact, you can already wishlist the game on Valve's store. The global servers will be hosted locally in North America, South America, Europe, and Japan, providing a latency-conscious gameplay experience for many users. […]

Guerrilla Is Working Closely with NC on Horizon Steel Frontiers, Says NC America CEO; “It’s Looking Genuinely Amazing”

1 April 2026 at 19:00

A female character from Horizon Steel Frontiers in futuristic armor wields a mechanical bow with a glowing, high-tech environment in the background.

During our recent GDC 2026 interview with NC America CEO Jeonghee “JJ” Jin, we couldn't pass up on the opportunity to inquire about the state of Horizon Steel Frontiers, the MMORPG set in the post-apocalyptic franchise created by Guerrilla Games. The first rumor about this project emerged in late 2022, when the Korean website MTN reported that Sony and NCSoft had signed a deal allowing NCSoft to develop an MMO game based on Horizon. All that appeared to be in jeopardy in early 2025, when the same source claimed the project had been canceled following an internal review, but that turned out to be […]

31 March 2026 at 19:35

A promotional image for 'The Elder Scrolls Online: Season Zero - Dawn and Dusk' featuring a central character in ornate armor with fantasy elements surrounding them.

During a recent remote press event, we had the chance to preview today's Elder Scrolls Online 2026 Seasons Direct, which outlined the main new features and content coming this year to the MMORPG, and also asked a few questions to ZeniMax Online in a roundtable format. First things first: The Elder Scrolls Online is coming to PC Game Pass, with Xbox Play Anywhere support, on June 2. Moreover, the Gold Road Collection (ESO base game + Gold Road Chapter + all previous Chapters, including the additional Warden, Necromancer, and Arcanist classes) is now free to grab for PlayStation Plus members […]

Wyldheart Is a Cozy-Looking “Multiplayer Skyrim” with a Heavy Dose of Tabletop Inspiration

27 March 2026 at 19:30

Four characters in fantasy gear stand in a forest with the title 'Wyldheart' above them.

Last week, I received an invite to check out Wyldheart, a soon-to-be-announced co-op fantasy action RPG in development by Wayfinder Studios. The team is small and independent, but also filled with industry veterans, like co-founders Dennis Brännvall (formerly Creative Director of Star Wars Battlefront II) and Fia Tjernberg (formerly Studio Director of Technical Design at EA DICE). In this article: First Impressions: Dungeons, Hexes, and a Legendary Mace I was introduced to Wyldheart by Brännvall himself, then played a brief multiplayer session with him and the studio's Marketing Director, Erin Bower, and finally asked Brännvall several questions to learn even […]

Deadhaus Sonata Q&A: Denis Dyack on Tarot Cards, Loot Based on Quantum Physics, and Building a Spiritual Successor to Legacy of Kain

24 March 2026 at 20:00

A dark and gothic architectural scene with glowing red lights and silhouettes in the foreground showcases the title 'Deadhause Sonata', created by Denis Dyack.

It's been more than seven years since Denis Dyack, the creator of classic action/adventure games Eternal Darkness and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, originally announced Deadhaus Sonata. First described as "Bloodborne meets Diablo", it was supposed to include Genvid's interactive streaming technology in a persistent world where, according to my previous interview with Dyack from May 2020, players might have been able to change the government through elections or simply act as a store manager or dungeon master. For a long while, though, the game largely disappeared from the news, only to reappear recently with a playable demo on Steam […]

18 March 2026 at 18:40

Today, Archetype Entertainment, the Texas-based studio founded by former BioWare employees and owned by Wizards of the Coast, released a new gameplay trailer of its debut game, EXODUS. The short trailer combines three clips: Archetype has also provided a rough roadmap of the news and information that will be shared on EXODUS ahead of the planned early 2027 launch. From now through early Summer, more short gameplay clips will be released to showcase combat encounters, traversal, interactions, and environments. This summer, the team will host a longer gameplay showcase featuring continuous, moment-to-moment footage, including combat, conversations, in-mission choices, and more. […]

Octopath Traveler series celebrates new milestone with over 7 million copies sold

16 March 2026 at 12:00

Square Enix’s Octopath Traveler is an interesting series. Originally released as a Nintendo Switch 1 exclusive, this relatively new IP introduced us to a unique visual aesthetic which blended old-school pixel art with modern post-processing techniques to create what they called HD-2D. Since 2018, we’ve gotten 3 total mainline entries – the combined sales of which have now officially surpassed 7 million in total.

Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, the official Octopath Traveler page confirmed that “the Octopath Traveler series hits 7 million copies shipped and digitally sold worldwide!“ Alongside this, the team shared a commemorative art piece created by illustrator Maika Minami.

As mentioned, the Octopath Traveler series initially started as a Nintendo Switch 1 exclusive back in 2018. That said, the franchise’s release cadence was highly odd, with the first title coming to Windows in 2019; Xbox in 2021 and PlayStation in 2024.

Octopath Traveler Million

The sequel meanwhile first launched in 2023 for Switch, PC and PlayStation; later coming to Xbox in 2024. Finally, the most recent title – Octopath Traveler 0 – released concurrently across all platforms late last year.

Despite being a relatively new IP (and one which was somewhat convoluted to get into initially), Octopath Traveler is slowly but surely finding a dedicated audience of players. It will be interesting to see how the latest title performs in the wake of its multi-platform launch.

KitGuru says: What do you think of the Octopath series? Do you like the franchise’s HD-2D art style? Let us know down below.

Ashes of Creation CEO Obtains First Legal Victory with TRO Against TFE and the Board

There's been a major development in the ongoing Ashes of Creation legal battle: Intrepid Studios founder and CEO Steven Sharif has obtained his first legal victory against the board, obtaining a TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) from a judge. As a reminder, following the sudden implosion of the game and its removal from Steam, not to mention the fraud accusations levied by one of the game's investors, Sharif was targeted with a lawsuit filed by TFE Games Holdings on February 9, 2026, in the Nevada District Court, Clark County. However, he quickly filed his own lawsuit against Robert Dawson (the major investor behind […]

Reikon Games announces Ruiner 2

6 March 2026 at 15:45

Polish developer Reikon Games has unveiled Ruiner 2, the sequel to its 2017 cult-classic twin-stick shooter. While the original was a focused, brutal blast of cyber-violence, the sequel is aiming for a broader scope, shifting into a cyberpunk action RPG.

Returning players will find themselves back in Rengkok, but this time the gameplay is built around the Shell System. Rather than being locked into a single class, you play as a hacker capable of hijacking the bodies of fallen heroes. These bodies, also known as Shells, allow you to swap between different combat styles on the go, adapting to every situation.

The depth of the RPG systems in Ruiner 2 appears to be a love letter to theory-crafters. Each Shell comes with four unique skills, each featuring branching progression nodes that fundamentally alter how the ability functions. Balancing your build is a game of logistics, as every piece of equipment draws from a dedicated resource pool of power, CPU, and memory. With no “free” gear slots, every upgrade is a direct trade-off. This is further supported by the Neural Network, a persistent hacker-level passive tree that provides buffs across your entire roster of Shells.

Combat has been redesigned to favour high-speed synergies, whether you are playing solo or with friends. In single-player, you control a team of three Shells simultaneously, switching between them to chain abilities into devastating loops. The sequel also introduces three-player online co-op, where a full team can bring up to six Shells into the fray, creating screen-clearing combos that wouldn't be possible alone. For those who live for the grind, Reikon has confirmed an “endless endgame” featuring escalating tiers of difficulty and loot, ensuring that the only ceiling on your progression is the efficiency of your build.

The minimum system requirements have already been published and can be found below:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 / Intel Core i5-8400
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB) / AMD Radeon RX 580 (8GB)
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 10 GB available space

KitGuru says: Reikon Games is taking a bit of a gamble by pivoting from a twin-stick shooter to an ARPG, but the Shell System looks like a good fit for the franchise. Have you played the original Ruiner? Were you hoping it would get a sequel?

RUINER 2 Announced for PC as a Co-Op Cyberpunk Action RPG

This afternoon, independent Polish developer Reikon Games announced that RUINER 2 is in development for PC. As suggested by the title, it will be a sequel to 2017's twin-stick shooter, which was well-received by fans and critics. RUINER earned an 8 out of 10 score on Wccftech: RUINER is a no-brainer if you are interested in fast-paced action games that require real skill to truly perfect. However, RUINER 2 will be greatly expanded: it will support co-op gameplay and shift its genre to "cyberpunk action RPG". Marek Roefler, Game Director of the sequel at Reikon, said in a statement: We […]

GreedFall: The Dying World Q&A – “The Public Wouldn’t Have Accepted It if We Stuck to the First Game’s Combat”

2 March 2026 at 17:45

A fierce warrior stands in the center with face paint in an image promoting 'GreedFall: The Dying World'.

Next week, French developer Spiders (a subsidiary of the ailing publisher NACON since 2019) will launch the game GreedFall: The Dying World, originally called GreedFall II, out of early access. It's a delicate time for the company, between the mixed reception to the early access version of The Dying World and the tensions within the studio in late 2024 that led to a strike and, eventually, to higher wages for employees. A few months ago, Spiders also laid off most of the animation team, probably because there was no more work to be done on GreedFall: The Dying World in […]

World of Warcraft: Midnight Devs Discuss the Prey System, Split Raids, Zul’Aman, and More in Pre-Launch Interview

24 February 2026 at 21:00

A dynamic battle scene from 'World of Warcraft: Midnight' featuring armored warriors and mythical creatures clashing.

With exactly a week left before the official launch of World of Warcraft: Midnight, here's a semi-exclusive interview with Blizzard where four members of the development team open up on the key areas of the game's eleventh expansion, such as dungeons, raids, delves, the Zul'aman zone, and the new Prey system. I said semi-exclusive because I shared the remote interview session with Carrie Lambertsen from Screen Rant, so you'll see her name pop up as well throughout the transcript when she was the one asking questions. The following Blizzard developers were involved: Associate Game Director Paul Kubit, Lead Encounter Designer […]

Riot Games Allegedly Tried to Buy Ashes of Creation in 2022-2023; Intrepid CEO Steven Sharif Files Counter-Lawsuit

20 February 2026 at 13:00

A split image showing the 'Riot Games' logo on the left and Steven Sharif, CEO of Intrepid Studios, developer of Ashes of Creation, on the right.

The story behind the MMORPG Ashes of Creation, its development team (Intrepid Studios), its founder and CEO Steven Sharif, and its major investors (Robert Dawson, Jason Caramanis) continues to get messier. As you might remember, Jason Caramanis publicly accused Steven Sharif of fraud, embezzlement, and other illegal acts, and mentioned that Sharif would be the target of several lawsuits, including one already filed by TFE Games Holdings against Steven Sharif and his husband, John Moore, on February 9, 2026, in the Nevada District Court, Clark County. However, a few days ago, Sharif himself filed a counter-lawsuit in the United States […]

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition launched last year on the Nintendo Switch, finally allowing players to experience one of Monolith Soft’s most unique entries on modern hardware. While that version was a significant visual step up from the Wii U original, it notably lacked 60 FPS gameplay, despite a high framerate mode being discovered hidden deep within its files. As many speculated at the time, that discovery was clearly groundwork for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, which officially launched digitally worldwide today. Announced via a new launch trailer, this updated version brings 4K resolution support in Docked mode and 60 […]

Over the past year, we heard rumblings of a Chrono Trigger remake possibly being in development, but fans were consistently disappointed when it turned out to be either mistranslations or mere development considerations from Yuji Horii, the creator of the Dragon Quest series, who also served as one of the legendary game's writers. However, according to a known insider, a remake of the classic 16-bit JRPG is indeed in development. Commenting on a ResetERA forums in a thread regarding a recent survey shared by Square Enix's Team Asano - the studio behind the Octopath Traveler series which popularized the HD-2D […]
