Last week, I received an invite to check out Wyldheart, a soon-to-be-announced co-op fantasy action RPG in development by Wayfinder Studios. The team is small and independent, but also filled with industry veterans, like co-founders Dennis BrΓ€nnvall (formerly Creative Director of Star Wars Battlefront II) and Fia Tjernberg (formerly Studio Director of Technical Design at EA DICE). It's been more than seven years since Denis Dyack, the creator of classic action/adventure games Eternal Darkness and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, originally announced Deadhaus Sonata. First described as "Bloodborne meets Diablo", it was supposed to include Genvid's interactive streaming technology in a persistent world where, according to my previous interview with Dyack from May 2020, players might have been able to change the government through elections or simply act as a store manager or dungeon master. EXODUS Looks Reassuringly Mass Effect-y in New Gameplay

Today, Archetype Entertainment, the Texas-based studio founded by former BioWare employees and owned by Wizards of the Coast, released a new gameplay trailer of its debut game, EXODUS. The short trailer combines three clips: Archetype has also provided a rough roadmap of the news and information that will be shared on EXODUS ahead of the planned early 2027 launch. From now through early Summer, more short gameplay clips will be released to showcase combat encounters, traversal, interactions, and environments. RUINER 2 Announced for PC as a Co-Op Cyberpunk Action RPG

This afternoon, independent Polish developer Reikon Games announced that RUINER 2 is in development for PC. As suggested by the title, it will be a sequel to 2017's twin-stick shooter, which was well-received by fans and critics. RUINER earned an 8 out of 10 score on Wccftech: RUINER is a no-brainer if you are interested in fast-paced action games that require real skill to truly perfect. However, RUINER 2 will be greatly expanded: it will support co-op gameplay and shift its genre to "cyberpunk action RPG".
