UPERFECT GR19BU 4K QLED Monitor Review: Sharp And Vibrant

27 June 2026 at 12:57

A matte-finish, bezel-less computer monitor with a black frame, placed on a wooden surface.

Conventional IPS portable displays are plenty in the market, but OLED, Mini LED, and QLED displays are still less common. After having used several IPS portable monitors as well as a 16-inch OLED from Uperfect, I got the opportunity to try out the company's new offering, which is a 4K QLED portable monitor. At this point, it's hard to ignore QLED or any other non-conventional LED panels, and this is why the new GR19BU makes complete sense to remain in the market, offering users a better alternative. The Uperfect GR19BU is a 19-inch QLED display that carries some great specifications […]

Display Times, Frame Times, And The Truth About Smoothness

24 June 2026 at 17:21

A comparison chart titled 'Frame Times vs Display Times' shows fluctuating frame times in blue and stable display times in green.

In the world of PC gaming performance analysis, we tend to obsess over frame times, and for good reason. A simple average FPS number can be extremely misleading, while a frame time graph can immediately show you whether a game is delivering frames smoothly or whether it is suffering from stutters, hitches, CPU/platform bottlenecks, or other forms of inconsistent frame pacing. However, as useful as frame times are, there is one major problem with relying on them alone: they do not always tell us what the player actually sees on the monitor. This is especially important nowadays, as modern PC […]

Guild Wars franchise expands into CCG genre with Mistbound

22 June 2026 at 16:00

ArenaNet and its parent company, NCSoft, have announced Mistbound, an official Guild Wars digital collectible card game developed in collaboration with bilibili.

The newly revealed title moves the franchise into the CCG genre following the recent announcement of Guild Wars 3. According to the publishers, the game's mechanics draw inspiration from the franchise's card-game roots, noting that character attributes in the original MMO mirrored deck-building customisation.

NC's design uses a 5Γ—3 grid and dynamic movement as its core gameplay features. Deployed unit and commander cards can be repositioned turn by turn across the grid to counter opponent movements. Combat encounters will feature positional mechanics such as knockbacks, pulls, and flanking manoeuvres.

Familiar characters will step onto the grid as playable commanders, offering unique abilities alongside voice performances from series regulars. The soundtrack will also feature contributions from original Guild Wars musicians. There's no official release date for the title yet, though the project is currently in active development.

KitGuru says: Taking the Guild Wars into a grid-based tactical card game is an unexpected turn for the franchise, but mixing traditional deck-building with active grid movement could offer an interesting twist.

Uperfect UFree V Review: A Wireless β€œTrue” Portable Monitor With Incredible Compatibility And Versatility

2 May 2026 at 20:31

A portable monitor with a black screen sits on a wooden table beside a compact, folding keyboard featuring an integrated trackpad.

After having reviewed several portable monitors from Uperfect, I got my hands on the UFree V, a new portable monitor which promises completely "wireless" operation. As soon as I read that, my interest sparked several folds since conventional portable monitors aren't "truly" portable, as you still have to power them using an outlet and connect them to a device. Portable monitors are usually much lighter and thinner than regular desktop monitors, but UFree V brings both a lighter and thinner build, alongside wireless operation. After having tested the UFree V, I have been eager to explain the pros and cons […]

Thermalright is launching its first pre-built PC – the AI HydroNous R1

10 April 2026 at 15:30

After announcing at Computex that it would launch a full system, Thermalright has finally made its debut in the pre-built PC market with the AI HydroNous R1. The system features an LCD panel and is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, cooled by an integrated liquid-cooling unit.

As spotted by ITHome, the system houses an integrated 180mm AIO liquid cooler for the CPU, along with LCP fans, supporting a 176W TDP, far above the Ryzen AI Max+ 395's 120W limit. That means the cooler should allow the CPU to sustain boost clock speeds for longer periods of time. Unfortunately, we do not yet know what RAM the system uses.

Β

The chassis includes a 4.6-inch front-facing monitoring screen managed via the TRCC software. This display provides real-time data, including CPU frequency, temperatures, load, time, and date. The interior is designed for user access, featuring two SSD slots positioned behind the left side panel and a dedicated heatsink.

Connectivity is distributed across the top, rear, and bottom of the case. The I/O includes two USB 4.0 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, an HDMI output, and a DisplayPort. Networking is handled by dual Ethernet ports, providing 2.5GbE and 10GbE speeds. A 3.5mm audio jack and an SD card reader are also included.

KitGuru says: By the looks of it, the AI HydroNous R1 won't come cheap, but given it's from Thermalright, we might be surprised.

UPERFECT UMax 27 Switches Review: Feature-Rich Dual-Mode Portable Monitor With A Premium Price Tag

28 March 2026 at 12:08

A desktop monitor displays a moonlit forest wallpaper with icons for applications like 'Battlefield 4,' 'PUBG,' 'Steam,' and 'Adobe Acrobat' visible on the left.

Dual-mode monitors are trending, and we see major monitor makers introducing several such displays that can switch between two different display configurations. This way, the dual-mode displays are able to double the refresh rate at lower resolutions, bringing more smoothness for gameplay. This is particularly convenient for gamers who often switch between slow-paced and fast-paced titles. Unfortunately, dual-mode configuration isn't very common on portable monitors, which are already limited in their feature set. I have seen that UPERFECT is one of the very few monitor makers that tend to bring something unique to the table every few months, and is […]
