Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Will Reportedly Launch in July 2026, Full Reveal Now Set for Next Week

16 April 2026 at 19:52

A character from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced stands on a ship's rigging against a cloudy sky.

Despite rumors initially pointing to a reveal happening today, a new report from Insider-Gaming points to Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced getting its full reveal next week. But most importantly, the report claims that we have a release date to look forward to for the upcoming remake. Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will reportedly launch on July 9, 2026. This comes after Ubisoft reportedly held a private presentation for content creators and select members of the press today, ahead of next week's full public reveal. It's unfortunate, of course, that today's reveal was seemingly postponed, but all signs are pointing […]

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced details leak via game ratings board

14 April 2026 at 08:00

Due to the public nature of video game ratings boards, we’ve gotten various details on a ton of different unannounced and in-development titles over the years. As such, it comes as little surprise that in anticipation of Ubisoft’s proper unveiling of the long-rumoured Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced remake, another games rating board has given us our first ‘official’ set of details.

As discovered by ResetEra user ‘nicoreese’, the Indonesian Game Rating Board (IGRSDB) recently published a listing for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Alongside an 18+ rating and a 2026 release year (as well as confirmation that the remake will be limited to the PS5, Series X|S and PC), the board published a brief description for the game which reads as follows:

“This title breathes new life into a fan favourite while remaining carefully faithful to the spirit of the original. It follows the story of charismatic pirate and Assassin Edward Kenway as he adventures through 18th Century Caribbean with parkours in cities, and battles at seas, in search of fortune and glory. Modernized in 2026, the new game includes a cast of new characters and stories.”

Black Flag Resynced

While relatively vague in specifics (understandably so), the fact that Resynced will feature “a cast” of new characters and stories suggests that Ubisoft will be fleshing out the game’s narrative in one form or another.

This lines up somewhat with previous rumours which claimed that the remake would offer “more content in Edward’s pirate era” – although according to the same report Black Flag’s modern day segments are being removed.

Regardless, it seems quite clear that this remake will be more than just a basic visual overhaul, with perhaps the most unlikely addition (new story content) being all-but-confirmed. It will be interesting to learn more about the game officially in the lead up to its expected August 2026 release.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resycned Will Reportedly Be Fully Revealed Next Week – Rumor

8 April 2026 at 17:32

A character in 'Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag' stealthily approaches enemies in a dense jungle setting.

The Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake, officially titled Assassin's Creed Black Resynced was finally confirmed to be real by Ubisoft last month as part of a larger update on the Assassin's Creed franchise. But even then, after years of leaks and rumors, all we got from Ubisoft was a piece of concept art just to confirm it was real. Thankfully though, a new report from Insider-Gaming indicates we'll get so see a lot more than just some concept art at an imminent reveal. According to both Insider-Gaming's own sources and a user on ResetEra called BlackBate, the former of which […]

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake to be revealed this month

8 April 2026 at 14:15

We've been hearing about the Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake for a couple of years now. Ubisoft has even hinted at the rumours being true themselves. Now, a new leak claims that the game will be revealed as soon as next week.

This isn't the first time we've heard a rumour about this game being officially announced. Previously, it had been claimed that the game would be revealed at The Game Awards last December, but the show came and went with no announcement to be found.

Black Flag Resynced

Over on Resetera, a user who claims to have ties to Ubisoft has said that the Black Flag Remake will be announced on April 16th. Insider Gaming has seen documentation that suggests the game will release by the end of August this year, so a reveal now is feasible, but Ubisoft is known for its delays at this point, so it wouldn't be surprising to see the game pushed back a bit either.

With that said, if Ubisoft wants this game to stand a chance, it needs to release before November 2026, as the rest of the year will be entirely dominated by Grand Theft Auto 6.

Halo: Campaign Evolved tipped for July release

8 April 2026 at 12:45

It sounds like Halo: Campaign Evolved will be releasing much sooner than expected. The game was announced last year, with a vague 2026 release window but recent leaks point to a July release date.

In a cryptic tweet, dataminer @grunt.api revealed that Halo Campaign Evolved may be playable as early as July 23rd for premium edition pre-order buyers, followed by a wider release to all players and Game Pass subscribers on July 28th.

Halo Campaign Evolved is a modern rebuild of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign inside of Unreal Engine 5. It keeps the structure and narrative of the 2001 release but reworks levels, AI behaviour, combat flow and visuals to bring the experience in line with modern shooters.

Recently, it was also claimed that the new remake may also include a few extra campaign missions that expand lore and introduce enemies that were not originally present in the first Halo game.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: At this point in my life, I have played Halo 1 too many times on both Xbox and PC to really get excited for this remake. However, if you are someone who grew up with a PlayStation and never had the opportunity to play this campaign from start to finish, this should be worth picking up.

Halo Campaign Evolved to feature new story missions

30 March 2026 at 09:15

It is going to be years before we see a new mainline Halo game but in the meantime, the newly formed Halo Studios does have something else for fans – Halo: Campaign Evolved. New details about this remake have recently surfaced, revealing new missions that expand on the original story.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is an Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original Halo 1 campaign. In the interest of speed, it has recently been claimed by Halo-focused YouTuber, Rebs Gaming, that a number of assets from Halo Infinite will be re-used to put the remake together faster.

While playing through the original campaign will be fun for fans both new and old, the real hook for longtime fans here is the addition of new campaign missions. According to the video, these extra campaign missions will focus on the rivalry between ODSTs and Spartans, and hone in on a particularly religious sect of the Covenant. For the first time, Brutes will also appear in the first Halo game.

Halo: Campaign Evolved does not yet have a release date, but the game is expected to be available sometime this Summer. This release will mark the very first time that Halo has been made available on PlayStation consoles. It will also be available on PC and Xbox from day-one.

KitGuru Says: At this point, I've played The Master Chief Collection to death, so a remake doesn't do a lot for me. However, if these extra campaign missions turn out to be good and expand on the lore, then that could change.

25 March 2026 at 18:00

The image shows the 'Resident Evil Revelations' logo on the left, with a character peering through a ship's porthole on the right.

CAPCOM leaker Dusk Golem claimed today that the Japanese studio is considering whether to give the green light to a Resident Evil Revelations remake. The leaker posted a list of the Resident Evil timeline, going from 0 (which has a remake already in development for a planned 2028 launch, according to Dusk Golem) to Requiem, and it included both Revelation titles. When asked by a follower whether CAPCOM actually considered those to be part of the mainline Resident Evil games, the leaker answered: There's a reason the directors of Resident Evil Revelations 1 and Revelations 2 are the ones spearheading […]

System Shock Remake ‘Parity’ Update available now

23 March 2026 at 14:00

After a lengthy development, Nightdive Studios’ System Shock Remake finally released on PC in 2023 to solid reviews across the board. Since then, the game has only improved with time, receiving a major update in 2024 in alignment with the remake’s PlayStation / Xbox release. Now, following its recent arrival on the Nintendo Switch late last year, System Shock Remake is getting another significant ‘parity’ update.

Taking to their Steam page to make the announcement, the team at Nightdive Studios unveiled System Shock Remake’s 2.1 update, stating: “System Shock Version 2.1 is officially live across all platforms! Internally, we’ve dubbed this the ‘Parity Patch.’ This update represents a major milestone for System Shock, as we bring every platform onto the exact same version of the game.”

System Shock Remake

The full patch notes can be found HERE, but some of the most notable changes/additions include:

  • Realspace and Cyberspace level design on several Decks refined with balance and lighting tweaks.
  • Gamepad aiming has been refined, including improvements to Aiming Down Sights
  • Enhanced dynamic music systems
  • Refined certain textures and audio logs using community mods
  • Fixed the Boot Up and Death BIOS screens on resolutions outside of 1080p
  • Station monitors updating to properly reflect the world state
  • Added in some additional sound effects for UI interactions and feedback.
  • Lowered cyberstinger health.

While far from the most transformative of updates, it is exciting nonetheless to have what appears to be the final and complete version of System Shock Remake now available on all current systems with feature-parity across the board.

Sony launches upgraded PSSR for 12 games, with more to come

17 March 2026 at 17:30

While console's super-resolution technologies still aren't on par with its PC counterparts, Sony is narrowing the gap with the launch of PSSR 2 (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution). Now available to all PS5 Pro owners, this second-generation looks quite the advancement, promising users less shimmering and ghosting and improved visual quality.

While Nvidia is currently iterating on DLSS 4.5 and 5 and AMD is teasing the AI-driven FSR Diamond, Sony's internal solution is now being deployed across twelve titles. This initial wave includes games such as Silent Hill 2 Remake, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

The full list of games can be found below:

  • Silent Hill 2 Remake
  • Silent Hill f
  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard
  • Monster Hunter Wilds
  • Dragon's Dogma 2
  • Crimson Desert
  • Rise of the Ronin
  • Nioh 3
  • Control
  • Alan Wake 2
  • Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2
  • Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
  • Cyberpunk 2077 (upcoming)
  • Assassin's Creed Shadows (upcoming)

Digital Foundry has already provided the first deep-dive analysis of the technology, with Oliver Mackenzie noting that the leap from the first iteration to PSSR 2 is substantial, describing it as a “big improvement” that significantly improves the value proposition of the PS5 Pro hardware. While he was careful to mention that PSSR 2 still lacks some of the advanced features found in top-tier PC upscalers, the consensus is that for a living-room experience, the “ghosting” and “shimmering” issues that occasionally plagued early PSSR 1 titles have been drastically reduced.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru says: PSSR 2 alone might not be enough to justify getting a PS5 Pro, but it sure looks like something worth adding to the list of advantages.

Silent Hill 2 Remake has officially surpassed 5 million players

13 March 2026 at 09:30

After laying dormant for a decade, the Silent Hill franchise is officially back and bigger than ever. With the most recent release ‘Silent Hill f’ continuing to find new audiences, Bloober Team’s excellent Silent Hill 2 Remake has reached a massive milestone – officially surpassing 5 million total players.

Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, the official Silent Hill page revealed that over 5 million people have played the latest remake from Bloober Team, writing: “The fog's reach grows ever greater, and a timeless story continues to find new minds to echo through. SILENT HILL 2 celebrates 5 million units worldwide!”

As always, 5 million players does not equate to 5 million copies sold, with Konami stating that this latest figure includes “units shipped, store downloads and subscription services.”

Silent Hill 2 Remake

This is worthy of note as Silent Hill 2 Remake was added to PlayStation Plus Extra back in October of last year (on the 21st to be specific) just days after confirming that the title had SOLD 2.5 million copies.

Regardless of whether it was through direct purchases or PlayStation Plus however, Silent Hill is in a strong place right now. It will be interesting to see whether the remake eventually outsells the entire rest of the franchise’s previous output.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 should be revealed this year

9 March 2026 at 12:00

Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 is on track to be announced later this year, with director Naoki Hamaguchi suggesting the release window won’t be far behind.

Speaking to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, Hamaguchi said he is “hoping it’s not going to be too far in the future,” signalling a release window that aligns with a first‑half 2027 launch. Hamaguchi confirmed that the third entry will continue the team’s approach of expanding beyond the 1997 original:

“We didn’t want the three installments to be a reskinning of the same game over and over again,” he said. “We want to make sure we’re expanding with every installment in terms of scale, as well as retaining that freshness.”

He added that the team “already has the foundation of the gameplay in place” and is now focused on fine‑tuning. Staff continuity has also remained high, with “closer to 95% of the Rebirth staff” returning for the final chapter.

While full details are being held for the official reveal, Hamaguchi confirmed several returning locations and features. Rocket Town and Wutai are both in, and flying the Highwind will be “a very large part of the third installment”. He also teased new Chocobo elements, potential underwater exploration, and a starting point that aligns with the original game’s path from the Forgotten City toward Icicle Inn.

Long-rumoured Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake officially announced

5 March 2026 at 10:45

For quite some time now we’ve been hearing that Ubisoft is working on a full blown remake of their fan-favourite Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. With multiple in-development projects being cancelled at Ubisoft recently however, the game’s future was somewhat unknown. In a surprise franchise update, Ubisoft have now officially confirmed that a Black Flag remake is in the works – though details still remain sparse.

As part of a blog post detailing the future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise in the wake of its recent developer shake-ups, Ubisoft took time to tease what we’ve ‘known’ for a while: that a remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is in the works, writing:

“Speculation around Assassin's Creed is not new, but it's worth repeating: ‘Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.’ Well, except in this case, some whispers have a little more wind in their sails. Keep your spyglass on the horizon.”

Black Flag Remake

Alongside this teaser, the team shared the first piece of concept art for the remake, confirming that it will be called AC: Black Flag Resynced.

As mentioned, we’ve gotten a bunch of different leaks over the years discussing various aspects of this remake. As noted however, the company has recently undergone a great deal of restructuring, and so it’s likely that Resynced could be quite different from how previous leaks described it.

We will have to wait and see, but finally, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is officially real and coming at some point in the future. The full blogpost, including the confirmation that AC: Unity is getting a 60fps patch on console, can be found HERE.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is Finally Confirmed as Ubisoft Provides an Update on the Future of the AC Franchise

4 March 2026 at 18:11

A character from the game Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced stands on a ship's rigging with the logo and title visible.

Ubisoft has provided a major update on what's coming next in the Assassin's Creed franchise as we near the one-year anniversary of its last major release, Assassin's Creed Shadows. Firstly, we can finally stop calling the Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake a 'rumoured' game, because Ubisoft has finally officially confirmed the remake to be on its way and that it is indeed titled 'Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced,' which was the title that leaked in December 2025. In a blog post on the official Ubisoft website titled 'Assassin's Creed: Into 2026,' recently named head of AC content, Jean Guesdon, appears […]

Capcom has reportedly started development on another Resident Evil 1 remake

4 March 2026 at 10:30

Ever since Capcom kicked off their golden era with the release of Resident Evil 7, the publisher has successfully remade most of the mainline RE entries, with more seemingly on the way. While the much-loved Resident Evil Code Veronica is reportedly next in line to be remade, known Capcom insiders have now claimed that the previously-remade Resident Evil 1 is set to receive another full-on remake.

As reported by known Capcom leaker DuskGolem, “full production on a RE:1 Remake has gone underway”; though the project is said to be “years out” – with the aforementioned Code Veronica being next in line.

Offering additional context, Golem claimed that the remake could be between 4-7 years away from release, with Code Veronica and RE:0 both being further along in development.

Resident Evil Capcom

For the uninitiated, this would be the second time that the original Resident Evil has gotten a remake, with the first one arriving all the way back in 2002 for the GameCube. That said, unlike Capcom’s modern efforts, the original RE: Remake was highly faithful to the original, maintaining its gameplay and visual style.

It’s safe to assume that this second redo would be more in line with the likes of the RE:2 and RE:3 Remakes. We will have to wait and see. In the meantime, fans have the recently-released Resident Evil Requiem to enjoy.

KitGuru says: What do you think of this latest report? How would you want Capcom to handle the remake? Should they stop after Code Veronica, 0 and the OG RE? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Insider claims FromSoftware is the reason we haven’t gotten a Bloodborne remake

2 March 2026 at 10:15

2015’s bloodborne is a beloved title, with the FromSoftware-developed PS4 exclusive being many fans’ favourite game from the studio. Despite this, we’ve seen nothing from the IP since its launch, with the game remaining locked to an uneven 30fps at just 1080p. Unfortunately, despite fan pleas, it seems things aren’t going to change, with insiders revealing that the ill-fated BluePoint Studios pitched Sony a Bloodborne remake before their closure – a pitch which was approved by Sony but rejected by FromSoft.

As reported by known industry insider Jason Schreier (paywalled), following the cancellation of BluePoint Games’ live-service God of War title, the studio pitched Sony a number of other potential projects. One of these was said to have been a remake of Bloodborne.

This would have made sense not only due to the fact that BluePoint Games were known best for their remakes, but also because their most recent remake was literally for Demon’s Souls – the first Soulsborne title developed by FromSoftware.

Bloodborne FromSoftware

In a surprise reveal, Schreier claimed that “In early 2025, when Bluepoint again pitched the idea of Bloodborne remake, the studio was told that the numbers made sense but FromSoftware didn't want it to happen, according to people familiar with the process.”

While Sony owns the Bloodborne IP, the 2015 title was the result of a close collaboration between PlayStation and FromSoft. Additionally, Bloodborne as a game is near to Miyazaki’s heart, with the FromSoft head previously stating that the title is “the strongest reflection of my type of flavouring of a game that one can experience.”

Regardless, while a remake wouldn’t have been necessary, it makes little sense that Bloodborne has yet to receive a remaster consisting of a higher frame rate and increased resolution – especially as it would maintain all of Miyazaki’s work. For now, it seems the only way to experience an enhanced Bloodborne will be through emulation on PC.
