Gamescom Congress 2026 Sets Attendance Record as German President Makes Historic First Visit

30 August 2026 at 15:38

People are gaming on PCs in a dimly lit room with the text 'The Heart of Gaming' and '26 – 30 August 2026 in Cologne' alongside the gamescom logo.

Gamescom Congress 2026 concluded with a new attendance record after welcoming more than 1,100 visitors from the games industry, business, education, politics, science, media, and wider society. Held on August 27 as part of Gamescom in Cologne, this year’s conference featured 85 program items spread across eight stages, with 165 international speakers discussing the potential influence of games on culture, education, technology, the economy, and society. Attendance surpassed the previous record of more than 1,000 visitors established in 2025. The event was officially opened by German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, marking the first time a sitting German head of state […]

Gamescom theft leaves indie devs furious at weak security

By: Aftab Ali
29 August 2026 at 16:48

Gamescom is meant to be a celebration of games. For indie developer Ryan Laley, it turned into a nightmare.

Laley, who’s working on the horror game Mimic, had a booth in Gamescom’s business area. Sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning, his equipment was stolen straight from the stand.

He broke the news on X, saying his Gamescom had “come to an abrupt end” and that police reports had been filed. “It got raided last night,” he wrote. “Not just mine, others as well. All our laptops have been stolen.” He called it “a huge blow financially and mentally.” It was a proper security failure.

Gamescom’s response hasn’t gone down well

As more theft reports piled up online, so did complaints about security at the Koelnmesse venue. Attendees pointed to complacent, sometimes clueless staff letting the thefts happen under their noses.

Gamescom eventually addressed it with a lengthy statement, and it’s landed badly. The organisers said security “has one of the highest priorities” to them, but then pointed out that individual stand security has to be booked separately, and exhibitors are advised to insure their own gear. They called the thefts “individual cases” they were “very sorry to read” about, while admitting that at events this size, “there will always be individuals attempting to take advantage.”

Gamescom Booth

Basically: not our fault, and you should’ve paid for extra protection yourself. Unsurprisingly, that didn’t sit well with people. One attendee said Gamescom “makes massive profits” but “did nothing” while other devs stepped in to help. Another called the statement “absolutely unacceptable.”

Their anger is fair. Security checks were inconsistent all week, with unbadged people, including teenagers, wandering into business-only areas without being stopped. Some staff were switched on and did their job properly. Plenty more clearly weren’t sure what they were meant to be doing.

For an event charging exhibitors serious money to be there, “book your own guard” isn’t the reassurance anyone wanted to hear.

Razer launches updated Chroma-lit Base Station for headsets

27 August 2026 at 15:00

Razer has introduced the Base Station V3 Chroma, a new RGB headset stand with integrated USB connectivity and automated profile switching. The updated stand expands the company’s Chroma ecosystem and adds intelligent headset detection to streamline audio and lighting setups.

The standout new feature of the Base Station V3 Chroma is Seamless Headset Detection, which works with any headset supported by Razer Synapse. Lifting the headset from the stand triggers a custom profile that can switch audio and mic inputs, adjust Chroma lighting, launch games, activate shortcuts or run macros. Users can create separate profiles for gaming, streaming or media playback, with the setup reverting automatically once the headset is placed back on the stand.

The stand also functions as a small connectivity hub. Dual USB 3.1 ports support headset dongles and other peripherals, while software‑based virtual 7.1 surround sound is available for analog headsets. A 12‑zone vertical RGB strip provides lighting effects and syncs with other Razer Chroma peripherals, as well as supported games and partner devices.

Designed for everyday use, the Base Station V3 Chroma features a curved rubberised ledge to protect headset padding and maintain shape, along with a felt anti‑slip base to keep the stand stable on the desk.

KitGuru says: The Base Station V3 Chroma adds automation and connectivity to a traditionally simple accessory, making it a more functional option for Razer users building out a Chroma‑synced setup.

Ubisoft announces turn-based Rainbox Six: Tactics

26 August 2026 at 12:30

Ever since the overwhelming success of Rainbow Six Siege, we have seen very little in the way of new releases within the world of Rainbow Six (aside from the ill-fated R6: Extraction). Finally branching out and making greater use of the IP, Ubisoft have officially announced Rainbow Six: Tactics – a turn-based tactics game from the team behind Mario + Rabbids.

Making the announcement during Gamescom Opening Night Live, Rainbow Six: Tactics is a brand new entry in the popular Tom Clancy series. As can be gleaned from the name itself, this new offering from Ubisoft Paris takes the well-regarded formula seen with the likes of their Mario + Rabbids games and applies it to the hardcore tactical nature of Rainbow Six.

Based on the trailer released, R6: Tactics looks to have rather high production values, featuring full-blown cutscenes, cinematic moments during gameplay and overall appealing visuals.

Of course, the most important aspect will be its gameplay. In this regard, Ubisoft have confirmed that R6: Tactics will have you taking control over squads of 4, based on the many different operators seen in the likes of Siege. Each operator will of course have their own unique abilities, gear and gameplay opportunities.

With a variety of objective types; over 50 missions to complete and an upgradeable HQ to explore, Rainbow Six Tactics looks set to be an excellent addition to what is a relatively niche genre when it officially arrives some time in 2027.

Free-to-play GTA / Spider-Man hybrid ‘Ananta’ gets official January 2027 release date

26 August 2026 at 11:30

First announced almost exactly 3 years ago back during Gamescom 2023, the free-to-play open-world ‘Ananta’ drew a ton of attention due to the sheer variety on offer, with the NetEase published title seemingly featuring elements from GTA; Spider-Man; Prototype; Uncharted and countless others. Shown off once again at this year’s Gamescom, Ananta has now gotten an official release date.

Showing off a story-focused trailer during Gamescom 2026, Ananta has officially gotten a concrete release date – with the free-to-play title set to launch on PC, PS5 and mobile on the 15th of January 2027.

Unlike a majority of free-to-play games released nowadays, the teams at Naked Rain / NetEase previously confirmed that Ananta won’t feature any gacha elements for its suite of characters.

Instead, monetisation is said to be handled through cosmetics; though the exact extent of how this will work is unknown for now.

Regardless, Ananta's release looks set to be rather exciting. All-encompassing gameplay aside, the narrative and dialogue itself appears to be rather self-aware, and so it will be interesting to see what players think of the game when they finally get their hands on it early next year.

Discuss on our Facebook page HERE.

KitGuru says: What did you think of the latest trailer? Will Ananta be a ‘jack of all trades, master of none’ type of game? Let us know down below.

Snoop Dogg is the next Elusive Target in HITMAN: World of Assassination

26 August 2026 at 09:30

Despite technically not being a live-service title, the team at IO Interactive have continued to keep HITMAN: World of Assassination feeling fresh with new and limited-time events. Following on from the likes of Slim Shady; Bruce Lee; Mila Jovovich and countless others, Agent 47 has now been tasked with taking out Snoop Dogg.

Making the surprise announcement during Gamescom Opening Night Live, IOI officially unveiled the next Elusive Target coming to HITMAN: World of Assassination – Snoop Dogg.

Going live later this week on the 27th of August, this new ‘Herbalist’ mission will have you try to take out Dr. Cyrus Cane, “an eccentric entrepreneur” who’s about to release a new product: Morsizzles cookies.

This latest Elusive Target mission arrives as part of a wider ‘Season of the Herbalist’ – set to bring in both new and returning content – as well as a paid Herbalist Pack (£6.99) adding more Snoop Dogg goodness.

For those who opt not to purchase the pack, you’ll still have the opportunity to eliminate Dr. Cain, with the mission sticking around for all until the 26th of September.

In case you missed it, IOI’s most recent game ‘007 First Light’ is also set to receive its own update, with Path Tracing and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction going live on the 15th of September.

Crimson Desert 2.0 ‘Enhanced’ officially announced and released

26 August 2026 at 08:30

While it launched in a somewhat shaky state, Pearl Abyss’ Crimson Desert has since gone from strength-to-strength, releasing a ton of updates in a timely manner while going on to sell millions of copies. Marking a pretty big moment for the game, Crimson Desert has now gotten one of its biggest updates yet – with the 2.0 Enhanced edition bringing in new story moments; additional voice over support; skills and more.

Making the announcement during Gamescom Opening Night Live, Pearl Abyss unveiled and subsequently released the latest update for Crimson Desert.

Named ‘Crimson Desert Enhanced’ this update brings the game up to version 2.0, with the primary additions being the inclusion of “new cutscenes and story moments throughout the main questline” alongside “added knowledge, items, memory fragments, dialog lines and conversations to strengthen the narrative of bosses.”

Gameplay-wise, Crimson Desert is also receiving some welcome additions, with the update adding 8 new skills to unlock; a new Abyss Link system and countless tweaks / fixes.

Last but certainly not least, Crimson Desert Enhanced brings support for a bunch of new languages, namely:

  • German
  • French
  • Spanish
  • Brazilian Portuguese
  • Japanese
  • Arabic (text and UI only)

Given how rapidly Pearl Abyss have been updating Crimson Desert, it is perhaps not too surprising to see the game already hit version 2.0. That said, it is a welcome update nonetheless.

The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past and Witcher 3 Remaster announced

25 August 2026 at 20:16

It turns out that The Witcher 3's appearance at Gamescom Opening Night Live was a double header. Not only did we get our first look at the new Songs of the Past expansion, but CD Projekt Red also announced a free remaster for the original game, coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox consoles.

In The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, we will indeed be exploring a brand-new region, which is huge, as previous rumours had us thinking that the new questline would be set in Velen, a region we've all already thoroughly explored during the base game and Hearts of Stone expansion.

Not only are we getting the new expansion, but CD Projekt Red has also gone back and remastered the original game, with improved graphics, a completely revamped skill tree, upgraded monster AI, new combat finishers, new Witcher Sign effects, revamped traversal mechanics (including a revamp of Roach to make horse rising smoother), and much more.

Graphically, the game now looks a lot closer to the original E3 2014 demo, which had a higher level of fidelity compared to the launch version of the game – something that proved quite controversial at the time, but not controversial enough to detract from how great the game was overall.

The remaster will be sent out as a free upgrade for all owners of the original game on current-gen platforms, available starting on the 29th of September. Better yet, if you own the base game but never picked up the expansion, then Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine will now be given to you for free. However, you will have to put some money down for the new Songs of the Past expansion.

The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past is coming out in 2027, but we don't have a final release date yet.

KitGuru Says: If you've been holding off on a new playthrough of The Witcher 3, then you should be very pleased with today's announcements. September 29th is the time to jump back in, giving you plenty of time to finish up the original game and expansions before Songs of the Past drops.

Turok: Origins showcased at Gamescom Opening Night Live

25 August 2026 at 19:30

Turok: Origins is positioned as a modern evolution of the classic dinosaur‑hunting series. Players join the mystical Order of the Turok, guardians wielding immense power in a war for survival against ferocious dinosaurs and a new alien threat known as the Xenia. The story takes place in the Lost Lands, where humanity faces extinction and the Order must fight to preserve what remains.

The game features both first‑person and third‑person modes, allowing players to unleash devastating attacks with a wide arsenal of futuristic weapons, from plasma rifles and snipers to bows, shotguns and experimental alien weapons. Players can also harness Turok powers by collecting Echoes, unlocking abilities that enhance combat style and provide new tactical options.

The Lost Lands span dense jungles, ancient ruins, alien biomes and hidden areas filled with secrets, forming the backdrop for a high‑stakes adventure.

Turok: Origins will be launching on PC via Steam and Epic Games, as well as on PS5 and Xbox. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also planned for a later date.

Metro 2039 gets February 2027 release date and new trailer

25 August 2026 at 19:11

Metro 2039 received a new trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live, alongside confirmation of a February 2027 release date. The next entry in 4A Games’ acclaimed post‑apocalyptic FPS series promises a darker, more expansive journey into the ruins of Moscow.

Metro 2039 follows a new protagonist known as the Stranger, a reclusive figure haunted by violent waking nightmares. When the ghosts of his past force him out of exile, he embarks on a dangerous journey back into the shattered remains of Moscow. The city’s survivors have spent 25 years locked in conflict deep within the Metro tunnels, but are now united under Hunter, a fanatical Spartan whose Novoreich regime rules through propaganda, fear and a renewed push to reclaim the surface.

Outside the Metro, a dark and terrifying enemy awaits, driving the regime’s war effort and reshaping the world above. The Stranger’s path leads through devastated wilderness, ruined districts. 4A Games describes Metro 2039 as the most shocking and immersive entry in the series to date, blending exploration, survival, stealth and intense combat across a hauntingly beautiful but deadly world.

KitGuru Says: With the February 2027 release date now set, we won’t have to wait much longer to finally make our return to the Metro tunnels.

Former Mass Effect devs showcase new Sci-Fi RPG ‘Exodus’ at Gamescom

25 August 2026 at 19:00

At Gamescom Opening Night Live this evening, the first reveal trailer for Exodus was shown. The new sci‑fi RPG is being developed by Archetype Entertainment, a studio led by former BioWare veterans including Mass Effect writer Drew Karpyshyn. The game is targeting a 2027 release, and tonight’s trailer offers a fresh look at its planet‑hopping adventure.

Exodus is set in the far future within the Omega Centauri cluster, a densely packed region of space containing millions of stars and countless habitable worlds. Humanity reaches this distant part of the galaxy thousands of years after Earth’s collapse, with multiple fleets establishing new civilizations over millennia. As these societies rise and fall, genetically modified human offshoots known as Celestials emerge, alongside powerful factions and ancient technologies.

Players take on the role of the Traveler, part of a group seeking advanced relics called Remnants. The story spans multiple human and alien factions, each with their own agendas, alliances and rivalries. Choices made throughout the game will influence political outcomes and personal relationships across the galaxy, with time dilation playing a major role, as interstellar travel can cause decades to pass for those left behind.

Honestly, it sounds and looks like an even grittier version of Mass Effect, but with a bit more of a Hard Sci-Fi slant to it. The game doesn't have an exact release date yet, but it will be coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox sometime in 2027, assuming there are no delays.

KitGuru Says: Exodus will be a game to keep an eye on, especially if you are a Mass Effect fan.

Gamescom: Warlock Gameplay Preview

25 August 2026 at 18:51

Warlock, a new D&D‑based action adventure announced at The Game Awards last year, is returning to the spotlight at Gamescom with the first gameplay reveal. Ahead of the showcase, we were invited to a pre‑briefing session, offering an early look at eight minutes of in‑game footage and new details about the project.

Warlock is a third‑person, single‑player action adventure focused on spellcasting, rituals, exploration and puzzle solving. Players take on the role of Katri, a weapon master who forms a pact with Tasha, an ancient and chaotic witch. This pact grants Katri access to powerful abilities, including the Warlock’s Eye, which allows her to sense and harvest raw magic from the world. This raw magic can then be used to enhance existing powers and unlock new ones.

The gameplay shown featured a detailed open‑world area with production values comparable to Baldur’s Gate 3, complete with cinematic sequences and dense environmental detail. Katri is accompanied by a devilish imp who follows her throughout the world. In the footage, Katri enters a village and pays a beggar for information, learning of suspicious activity in a nearby cellar. She then transforms into a cloud‑like form to slip through a metal grate, entering a large underground bunker.

Katri’s abilities allow her to manipulate the environment in creative ways. She can pick up broken stone fragments to create makeshift platforms, perform a super‑jump to reach higher areas, freeze enemies in place and teleport behind them. Rituals can be conducted out in the field to control weather, so for instance, you can call in rain to debuff fire enemies. Raw magic can also be harvested from larger enemies – in the demo, this came from a zombie ogre.

While Katri does wield a sword, the emphasis is clearly on magical abilities. The game includes a wide range of D&D spells alongside original creations, but Warlock is not a CRPG. There are no dice rolls, and combat is real‑time, with spells designed to be versatile. For example, Black Tentacles can be used to solve environmental puzzles or deployed in combat. Experimentation is encouraged, with most abilities serving multiple functions across traversal, combat and puzzle solving.

During a Q&A session, the developers described Warlock as an “exploration‑driven open world”. The map is designed to be dense rather than impossibly large, and the team specifically wanted to avoid excessive handholding. Players are free to explore non‑linear paths, discover mysteries, which are the game’s equivalent of sidequests, and interact with NPCs to uncover new leads, such as the beggar directing Katri to the cellar in the gameplay demo.

Cantrips are present and can be used freely, while more advanced spells require recharging. The game takes place in the Domains of Dread, a darker region of the D&D universe. Katri is not from this land and must navigate unfamiliar territory with guidance from her imp companion and telepathic communication with Tasha. Their relationship is intentionally uneasy, as Tasha’s true intentions are not always clear.

Warlock is not an RPG, but players will have some influence over Katri’s build. As a Warlock and weapon master, she can conjure various melee weapons, and different outfits or armour sets can be found throughout the world. These do not offer traditional stat bonuses, but some have magical properties that alter or enhance abilities.

The developers emphasised immersion and confirmed that Warlock will have an endgame, allowing players to continue exploring and completing side content after finishing the main quest. While players can wander into tougher areas early, enemy difficulty will make it clear when they are not yet ready for certain zones. Progression is intended to balance exploration with main‑quest advancement.

Warlock doesn't have an exact release date yet, but it is currently planned for 2027.

KitGuru says: Warlock’s first gameplay showing is brief but promising, with strong production values, versatile spell mechanics and a dense open world. We’ll be keeping an eye on the game as development continues toward its planned 2027 release.

Control Resonant gets reality-bending trailer and September 24th release date

25 August 2026 at 18:48

During Gamescom Opening Night Live, Remedy debuted the final trailer for Control Resonant, confirming a September 24th release date for the sequel.

Control Resonant shifts the series from a shooter into a full action RPG, placing players in control of Dylan Faden, the brother of Jesse Faden from the original game. After years of confinement under the Federal Bureau of Control, Dylan emerges into a warped version of Manhattan at the height of a paranatural crisis. Rather than exploring the Oldest House, players will traverse expansive outdoor zones where reality constantly bends, reshapes and collapses around them.

Dylan wields a wide range of supernatural abilities, including elemental powers, teleportation and environmental manipulation. His melee weapon, the Aberrant, can shift forms on demand, transforming between heavy two‑handed hammers and swift dual blades to meet different combat scenarios. Resonant features a deep progression system, allowing players to shape how Dylan’s powers evolve as he adapts to increasingly dangerous threats.

The sequel introduces new factions and returning enemies, including the Hiss and the Mold, all of which have spread beyond the Oldest House and into Manhattan. Dylan’s journey also reconnects him with Jesse Faden, now serving as FBC Director, as the pair attempt to understand and contain the catastrophe unfolding across the city.

Control Resonant will be available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on September 24th.

KitGuru Says: Control Resonant looks to be a pretty major shift in style compared to the first game. I loved the first game, so I'm a bit apprehensive about the changes, but hopefully it still carries the same spark as the original.

Gears of War E-Day campaign trailer revealed at Gamescom

25 August 2026 at 18:32

Gears of War: E‑Day returned to the stage at Gamescom Opening Night Live with a new trailer ahead of its October release. The game serves as a prequel to the original trilogy, charting the events of Emergence Day as the Locust first rise to the surface and begin their invasion of Sera.

The gameplay expands on the series’ cover‑based combat with redesigned movement mechanics, including sprint sliding, jumping, climbing and enhanced traversal options that introduce greater mobility and verticality. Classic weapons like the Lancer and Longshot return, joined by new additions such as the Gutpuncher grenade launcher and Incinerator shotgun. The campaign supports four‑player co‑op and two‑player split‑screen co‑op on console, while multiplayer includes 4v4 competitive modes and a new twelve‑player Horde Siege mode.

Built using Unreal Engine 5, E‑Day also features expanded destruction systems, dynamic environmental damage and enhanced gore effects. The story focuses on Marcus and Dom as they attempt to adjust to civilian life following the Pendulum Wars, only to be thrust back into combat when the Locust Horde erupts from underground. The campaign follows Bravo Squad through the fall of Kalona, introducing new characters and revisiting the earliest days of the Locust War.

Hoyoverse’s realistic Monster Hunter-like ‘Nodusfall’ announced at Gamescom

25 August 2026 at 18:21

Hoyoverse is branching out from its usual anime‑styled, mobile‑friendly titles with a new project called Nodusfall. The game adopts a far more realistic art direction and shifts toward co‑op action, placing players in a grounded world where they’ll team up to hunt mythical beasts inspired by legends from around the world.

While Hoyoverse has built its reputation on games like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, Nodusfall looks to be targeting a different audience entirely. The game’s detailed environments, large‑scale creature encounters and emphasis on co‑op combat draw clear comparisons to Capcom’s Monster Hunter series. With Hoyoverse’s massive global fanbase, Nodus Fall could be one of the few challengers capable of competing in that space, though it remains to be seen whether its existing audience, which typically gravitates toward anime‑style games, will make the jump to a more realistic action title.

Nodusfall is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, suggesting it will be a core PC and console release rather than a mobile title. The game is currently targeting a 2027 launch, which means it will be entering the market around the same time Monster Hunter Wilds receives its major expansion next year. Based on the footage shown, Nodusfall features highly detailed environments and large, cinematic battles, at times resembling the massive summon encounters seen in Final Fantasy XVI.

Hoyoverse has not yet confirmed platforms or additional gameplay details, but the studio is positioning Nodus Fall as a flagship project for its push into more realistic, high‑fidelity action games.

KitGuru Says: Considering that Monster Hunter Wilds struggled to resonate with fans as strongly as Monster Hunter World, Nodusfall could be in a great position to steal some players away.

Nvidia reveals new RTX Remix projects, new GeForce game bundle and more at Gamescom

25 August 2026 at 15:31

Nvidia has outlined a wide range of RTX and GeForce platform updates at Gamescom this week, covering DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, RTX Remix progress, new path‑traced projects, Nvidia ACE, updates to the Nvidia App, RTX Spark developments and several additions to GeForce Now.

DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction is the biggest feature update this week, and we've already had a chance to test it out in early access. You can read our full article on that, and watch the video going over various comparisons and performance, HERE.

RTX Remix was another big focus of Nvidia's Gamescom update this week. RTX Remix now supports over 240 games, with 100 added this year alone. The RTX Remix GitHub repository now has around 300 active contributors, with over 3.8 million mods being downloaded for major titles, from classics like Doom, to more recent games like Fallout 4.

Nvidia also announced Painkiller RTX, developed by members of the original Painkiller team. Fifteen levels have been remastered with full path‑traced lighting, DLSS 4.5, advanced particle effects, path‑traced volumetrics, RTX Neural Radiance Cache and RTX IO, with RTX IO reducing the game’s file size by roughly 30GB. Another major project is The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind RTX, a Remix‑powered overhaul covering content up to the Mages Guild. While not a full game remaster, it serves as a substantial proof of concept, adding path‑traced lighting, updated materials and RTX Volumetrics. Modders aim to eventually remaster the entire game.

Nvidia’s on‑device AI system, ACE, is also expanding. Its first playable example appeared in PUBG Ally earlier this year, introducing an AI‑controlled companion responsive to voice commands. Next, ACE will be integrated into Aniimo, letting players speak naturally with their creature companion and coordinate in‑game actions.

The Nvidia App is receiving several updates this month, including a DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction override, per‑app Resizable BAR control and upcoming G‑Sync Pulsar configuration options. Control Resonant will also be the next game bundled with GeForce RTX GPUs starting from the RTX 5070 and up, and buyers of a GeForce Now Ultimate 12‑month membership will receive a copy.

Nvidia outlined progress on RTX Spark, its ARM‑based PC platform. EA’s Javelin anticheat will support Spark systems, enabling games like Apex Legends to run without issues and addressing anticheat limitations seen on SteamOS. Nvidia is working with publishers to expand support, with titles such as The Finals and Arc Raiders set to be available on RTX Spark PCs.

GeForce Now is adding several day‑one releases, including Blood of the Dawnwalker, Metro 2039, Control Resonant, Gears of War E‑Day and Onimusha: Way of the Sword. GOG account linking will soon be supported, enabling titles like Baldur’s Gate 3 to run through the service. Steam Controller support is on the way, alongside a native SteamOS GeForce Now app. Firefox now supports GeForce Now streaming natively, and the service is also coming to Amazon Fire TV devices.

KitGuru says: Nvidia’s Gamescom announcements cover DLSS, RTX Remix, cloud gaming and RTX Spark. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a hint of any move to bring down consumer GPU prices, which have continued to climb throughout 2026.

The Witcher 4 CD Projekt Red

As mentioned, it was already previously confirmed that Songs of the Past would be at Gamescom in one form or another. In an unexpected move however, CDPR also spoke briefly about The Witcher 4. While it will not be present at Gamescom, Nowakowski did give some small nuggets of information, describing the title as “our biggest, boldest, and most ambitious game to date” – confirming that it will launch in 2028.

Given that aspects of Songs of the Past are meant to tie directly into The Witcher 4, having the two release close together does make sense. Whether CD Projekt Red will be able to pull it off however (in a bug-free manner no less), we will have to wait and see.
