Final Fantasy VII Revelation Brings Back Rebirth’s 8 Regions, but Hamaguchi Insists the World Map Now Feels Truly Substantial

22 June 2026 at 15:17

A creature with a flaming tail walks through a lush jungle environment in the game Final Fantasy VII Revelation

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is bringing the iconic trilogy developed by Square Enix to a close on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027, featuring a massive open world to explore with the Highwind airship that promises to redefine the series' scale. If the final entry in the series were to strictly follow the story beats of the original, players wouldn't have much reason to bring Cloud and his companions back to multiple locations that already appeared in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. However, director Naoki Hamaguchi clarified in an interview with TheGamer […]

Persona 4 Revival, Fable, Final Fantasy VII Revelation and Lots More Collide in 2027, The Most Stacked RPG Year Ever

11 June 2026 at 22:15

A lineup of five game characters from games due in 2027, left to right: a young man in a school uniform, a woman in medieval attire, a blond man with determined eyes, a futuristic soldier in armor with a lion emblem, and a white-haired warrior with swords.

Summer Game Fest 2026 has come and gone, leaving us with two incredibly busy periods in the game release schedule: September-October 2026 and February-March 2027, which publishers big and small have identified in their not-so-disguised attempt to avoid a collision with Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto VI when it makes its debut on November 19, 2026. To fans of the roleplaying games genre, though, the recent flurry of game announcements has brought the near-certainty that next year will be memorable and perhaps unparalleled even in the future, thanks to the return of several beloved franchises/IPs and studios. Also, unlike recent years, […]

10 June 2026 at 15:19

A character in the game Final Fantasy VII Revelation holds up a glowing, clawed gauntlet against a rocky landscape.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 announced with Spring 2027 launch

7 June 2026 at 12:00

Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the third and final entry in the remake trilogy. The game is scheduled for a multiplatform release in Spring 2027, hitting all of the major consoles, as well as PC on day-one.

As previous teasers alluded to, in Final Fantasy Revelation, players will be able to pilot an airship to explore the world. You can then parachute down to the land whenever you want. As you would expect, in this third game, Cloud and the rest of the gang will try to put a stop to Sephiroth for good save the planet from destruction.

The action-oriented combat system returns for the sequel, but the roster of playable characters expands with Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine. As Vincent, players will be using guns and bestial transformations, while as Cid, players will use a lance to strike enemies while keeping them at a distance, along with AoE abilities.

While customisation options for the party have been a tad limited in the previous games, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will have a new system called FITS. This allows you to equip unique outfits based on classic Final Fantasy jobs like Black Mage and Warrior, which will also grant the character new moves as well.

New locations featured in the reveal include the Mideel archipelago, Wutai, and the Northern Continent. Players with existing save data for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade or Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will unlock the Chocobo & Moogle, and Phoenix summon materia early.

KitGuru says: Are you looking forward to the big finale for the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy?
