Nintendo Direct September 2026: Every Game Announced

By: Aftab Ali
9 September 2026 at 16:10

Nintendo just spent 45 minutes proving Switch 2’s second wave is going to be relentless, and I’m still catching my breath. Here’s every game that showed up during this Nintendo Direct, broken down so you’re not scrolling through a wall of text to find the one you care about.

Nintendo Direct 9.9.2026

The remakes and remasters keep coming

  • Monster Hunter Wilds and Ascendance – confirmed for Switch 2 with local play, landing 4th December, Ascendance to follow in 2027
  • Crisis Core: FF7 Reunion – out on Switch 2 the same day as the Direct, no fanfare needed
  • Final Fantasy VII Revelation – new trailer, launches 8th April
  • Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity – Definitive Edition – new difficulty mode, out 25th February
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered – arrives this month
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Royal Edition – lands sometime in 2027
  • Pikmin 4 – Switch 2 Edition – voice commands via the console mic, out 12th November, which is either genius or a recipe for shouting matches with your Pikmin
  • Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Switch 2 Edition – new survival mode and hero Shimmer, out 3rd December
  • Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 Remakes – bundled together on Switch 2, 16th October, still one of the best deals in gaming right now
Final Fantasy 7 Revelations - Nintendo Direct

New games worth actually caring about

  • Metroid Ravenous – the real headline for me, Samus returns in a 2D follow-up to Dread, out 28th January with a special edition and new Amiibo
  • Persona 4 Revival – classic JRPG confirmed for Switch 2
  • Persona 6 – officially confirmed, but Atlus is keeping every detail locked down for now
  • Kirby and the World Beyond – full 3D open-world adventure with a new sword and cap ability, closing out the show, arriving 2027 and looking properly gorgeous
  • Kirby Air Riders – new Amiibo wave (Sword Kirby, Dragoon, Noir Dedede, Hydra), out 12th November

Everything else announced during Nintendo Direct

  • Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – arrives next week
  • LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight – hits 18th September
  • Nintendo Switch Sports Resort – out 22nd October with jet skis, planes, and an AI rival named MATT that sounds deeply annoying
  • Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves – plus its Chun Li DLC, also 22nd October
  • Mario Kart World – free update out today adding classic Super Mario Kart tracks
  • Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis – confirmed for 12th February
  • Danganronpa 2Γ—2 – new Slayhem Mode, out 14th January
  • Mega Man: Dual Override – Proto Man joins the fight, spring 2027
  • Eternal Anima – time-travel JRPG, out 4th March
  • Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force GX – enhanced port, out 16th February
  • Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United – remake with new cutscenes, also 16th February
  • Metal Slug Ultimate Collection – ten games in one package, 2027
Tomb Raider 2

Switch 2’s second year isn’t just going to be busy. It’s going to be a scheduling nightmare, and I mean that as a compliment.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis’s gamescom Demo Shows a Classic Reimagined with a Scanner, a Grapple, and a Skill Tree

2 September 2026 at 13:01

Lara Croft in a tank top and shorts explores a lush, overgrown ancient ruin with a large statue and mountainous background in Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis's presentation we attended at gamescom 2026 featured an extensive look at the Greece level, which Crystal Dynamics Game DirectorΒ Raul SiqueiraΒ described as one of the most iconic locations in the franchise's history, with its towering columns, the grandeur of an ancient civilization, and untamed wilderness surrounding it. The hands-off live demo, which ran on a Pre-Alpha build of the game (now due on February 12, 2027, following a delay from the original 2026 target), was the team's way of showing how they have approached reimagining the beloved original classic. The last time the game was shown […]

Crystal Dynamics Uses GenAI Tools with Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis to β€œGet the Right Answers Faster”

11 June 2026 at 17:33

A character in 'Tomb Raider' stands in a lost temple, facing a large, overgrown statue surrounded by ancient columns and sculptures.

Last week, shortly after Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis appeared in the State of Play showcase, when the game's Steam page went live, players quickly noticed the page included a Generative AI (GenAI) use disclosure. Since then, we've been trying to get more clarity from developer Crystal Dynamics on how the studio uses GenAI, and experience director Jeff Adams has somewhat clarified its use, identifying GenAI as a "tool," one that helps the team "get the right answers faster." Adams comments come from an interview with Game Informer, which also includes a short video of his answer to the question […]

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Recommends an NVIDIA RTX 3080/ 6800 XT β€” And the Real Specs Could Hit Harder

4 June 2026 at 15:48

A character from the game Tomb Raider stands in a jungle setting, holding two pistols in an action stance.

Earlier than most publishers do, Crystal Dynamics and Amazon Game Studios have revealed the Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis PC system requirements, and it's not good news for anyone playing on a mainstream GPU, though it's hardly surprising, considering the game is powered by Unreal Engine 5. The system specifications published on the game's Steam store page detail the minimum and recommended requirements early, but with a significant catch: there's no indication of target resolution and framerate. Requirement Minimum Specifications Recommended Specifications OS Windows 10/11 (64-bit) Windows 10/11 (64-bit) Processor Intel Core i5-8600 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Intel Core […]

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is the Latest AAA Game Made With GenAI Tools in an β€œEarly Exploration” Development Phase

3 June 2026 at 14:31

A character in a jungle setting aims a pistol at two red dinosaur-like creatures.

Last night during PlayStation's State of Play event for June 2026, Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog showcased more of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, and also confirmed rumours that it had been delayed into next year with the announcement of a February 12, 2027, release date. After the dust settled, however, and the initial craze of all the announcements had passed, players spotted a key point on the game's Steam page: a disclosure that Generative AI (GenAI) tools were used in an "early exploration" phase of development. The statement on the game's Steam page reads, "AI-assisted tools were used […]

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Release Date Seemingly Leaks, Confirms Rumoured Delay to February 2027

2 June 2026 at 20:24

UPDATE 02/06/2026: During the State of Play presentation, it was confirmed that Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis has indeed been delayed into 2027 and will launch on February 12, 2027, not February 10, as previously indicated. Original Story: Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, the upcoming Unreal Engine 5 remake of the very first Tomb Raider game, seems to have had its release date leak ahead of a potential reveal either during today's State of Play or during one of the other major showcases set for this Summer Game Fest 2026. Steam codes available for pre-order appeared online on Amazon, indicating […]

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis May Not Have Been Delayed After All, As Support Studio Reaffirms 2026 Release Window

8 May 2026 at 11:39

A character from Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis standing in a lush jungle environment, looking upwards with a focused expression.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will mark the return of the series on PC and consoles in years, but last month, it seemed the remake of the very first entry in the series would take longer than anticipated to release and only see the light of day in 2027. According to a recent post on the official LinkedIn profile of developer Electric Square, spotted by Tomb Raider Chronicles, this won't be the case, as the game is still set for a 2026 release. "Electric Square is honoured to have supported Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog on their upcoming reimagination […]

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Has Been Delayed to February 2027 – Rumor

6 April 2026 at 17:09

A character resembling Lara Croft poses with two pistols in a lush jungle landscape featuring a waterfall and ancient ruins.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is one of the two new Tomb Raider titles that developer Crystal Dynamics announced during The Game Awards 2025. It's the one that is a full remake of the very first Tomb Raider game, and the one that'll have "completely rebuilt" combat and exploration systems, according to its game director. It was initially set to arrive at some point in 2026, but that may no longer be the case, as leaker RaidersSociety on X (formerly Twitter) claims that the game has been delayed into 2027, and will now launch at some point in February of […]
