New CPS PCCooler TR620M X features 5000RPM fan and six-heatpipe heatsink

16 April 2026 at 15:30

CPS PCCooler has launched the TR620M X, a relatively compact dual-tower air cooler with a single fan. However, that single fan can spin up to 5000RPM, faster than most other PC cooling fans on the market.

According to ITHome, the heatsink measures 115x106x94mm and uses a pure-copper, nickel-plated, reflow-soldered base. The same source states that the heatsink towers are treated with an anti-oxidation spray coating and utilise six 6mm heat pipes to transfer the thermal energy generated by the CPU.

Airflow is provided by a single fan (100x100x25) equipped with a Japanese NMB dual ball bearing. The fan operates at a maximum speed of 5000±10%RPM, delivering a maximum airflow of 105.42CFM and a static pressure of 11.85mmH2O. These figures, as you'd expect, come with a pretty high noise level, up to 45.66dB(A).

According to the official product description, the TR620M X supports a wide range of mainstream workstation platforms. Compatibility includes Intel LGA3647 (narrow type) and 4677, as well as AMD sTRX4, sWRX8, TR4, SP3, TR5, SP5, and SP6. The TR620M X is currently available in China for 439 yuan (£48), with an initial launch price of 339 yuan (£37). Availability outside the Chinese market has not yet been provided.

KitGuru says: For the general consumer, something like the PCCooler TR620M X cooler may be a bit too loud. However, if you don't mind the noise, it should offer a good amount of performance.

Thermaltake expands racing sim line-up with new wheel and pedals

16 April 2026 at 13:30

Thermaltake has expanded its sim‑racing hardware lineup with two new additions, the XRW‑G1 GT Steering Wheel and the XRP‑L1 Loadcell Pedal Set, aimed at enthusiasts who want even greater configuration over controls in competitive racing games.

The XRW‑G1 GT Steering Wheel uses a 300mm GT‑style layout built from CNC‑machined aluminium, carbon fibre and reinforced polymer. A 5‑inch integrated touchscreen provides access to RPM data, flags and other race information. Surrounding it is a full control array that includes backlit buttons, toggle switches, rotary encoders, thumb encoders and two multi‑directional “funky switches” for menu navigation and quick adjustments.

Magnetic carbon‑fibre paddle shifters are included, and RGB indicators provide visual cues for RPM and system status. The wheel works with Thermaltake’s steel‑ball quick‑release adapter (sold separately) for fast swaps across compatible wheelbases.

The XRP‑L1 Loadcell Pedal Set is built around a CNC‑machined aluminium structure designed to minimise flex under heavy braking. The throttle pedal uses a 16‑bit Hall Effect sensor with adjustable throw and spring preload, while the brake pedal is driven by a 200kg load cell with interchangeable springs and rubber dampers for tuning resistance and feel. Pedal angles can be adjusted in 5‑degree increments, and the set includes stainless‑steel mounting brackets for a range of cockpit layouts.

We don't have pricing yet, but both products will be available across Europe, the US and other regions starting soon.

Alienware AW2726DM QD-OLED monitor brings prices down to just $350

15 April 2026 at 08:30

Alienware has launched the AW2726DM, a 27-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor that's most likely the cheapest OLED-type panel in the market. However, as you might expect, it has some limitations, most obviously in its brightness output.

The Alienware AW2726DM (via NotebookCheck) features a QHD resolution of 2560×1440 and a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz. Aimed at the budget-friendly segment, the monitor features a 3-year warranty that covers OLED burn-in. The QD-OLED panel is rated for a typical brightness of 200 nits, peaking at 400 nits in HDR mode. The display provides a 0.03ms response time and 99% DCI-P3 coverage. The 10-bit colour depth panel supports HDR content, but it's not VESA-certified. For a tear-free experience, the monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium, though official G-Sync compatibility is not listed in the specifications.

Connectivity consists of one DisplayPort 1.4 port, which is required to achieve the full 240Hz refresh rate at 1440p. Two HDMI 2.1 ports are also provided, supporting native resolutions up to 120Hz. A dedicated headphone jack is integrated into the chassis for audio output.

The AW2726DM features a minimalist black design without RGB lighting. The included stand offers ergonomic adjustments for height, tilt, swivel, and pivot. To manage thermal performance and mitigate the risk of permanent image retention, the panel is equipped with a graphite-film heatsink. The monitor is available now for $349.99.

KitGuru says: It's surprising to see the cheapest QD-OLED monitor coming from a brand such as Alienware. Still, with a price tag like that, it is hard to imagine other monitor makers won't follow suit with more midrange OLED offerings.

Cities: Skylines gets some competition from new city-builder City Masterplan

13 April 2026 at 15:30

Cities: Skylines series might finally have a rival. 1:1 Studio has announced its debut title, City Masterplan, a city-builder focused on 1:1 scale construction across 24x24km maps. The game is currently listed on Steam without a release date, but we know it's built on Unreal Engine 5.

Unlike most city-builders, City Masterplan will move away from traditional grid-based construction, allowing players to place roads and buildings without rigid constraints. Also, the developer promises a realistic traffic simulation and supply chains, a dynamic environment system, various architectural styles complemented by advanced PCG (Procedural Content Generation) technology, and iconic buildings with real dimensions.

The system requirements published on the game's store page are quite high, but not completely surprising for a city-builder such as this. Minimum specifications for processor and GPU are currently listed as “Pending”, but it's known that you'll need at least 16GB of memory and 60GB of storage. As for the recommended requirements, it states 32GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 or an AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT, and an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D or an Intel Core i7-12700K.

The game's release date hasn't been announced yet, but those interested can wishlist it on Steam.

Amazon Luna to end third-party integration and library sharing support

13 April 2026 at 15:00

Amazon has announced it is ending support for third-party integrations on its Luna cloud gaming service. Effective immediately, users can no longer purchase Ubisoft+ or Jackbox Games subscriptions via the platform. The “Bring Your Own Library” feature, which allows access to titles from EA, GOG, and Ubisoft storefronts, will also be discontinued on June 3rd.

Amazon will automatically cancel active subscriptions purchased through Luna at the end of the next billing cycle. Users who maintain a Ubisoft+ subscription directly through Ubisoft can continue to access the service via Luna until June 10th. Standalone games purchased through Ubisoft's platform also remain playable until June 10th.

Amazon confirmed it is not offering refunds for software purchases. However, users will retain access to these titles through their respective third-party accounts, such as the EA App, GOG Galaxy, or Ubisoft Connect. The company stated in an email to users that it is refocusing on a wider range of gaming experiences, including the GameNight party game format.

Microsoft starts removing Copilot branding from Windows 11 apps

13 April 2026 at 14:00

Microsoft has begun removing Copilot AI branding and icons from the latest versions of Notepad and Snipping Tool in Windows 11. Following reports of negative user sentiment, the company has rebranded AI-driven features such as rewrite and summarise as “Writing tools” and paused the forced inclusion of AI buttons across its core application suite.

According to Windows Latest, the transition follows an update in March 2025 that initially integrated Copilot directly into Notepad for text summaries and rewrites. These integrations were generally not well received by users, leading to significant negative feedback about Microsoft pushing AI to users who didn't want it. The latest software revisions restore the standard appearance of these applications by removing the persistent Copilot icon.

Microsoft has confirmed that while the AI-assisted functionality remains accessible, features such as summarisation are now listed under a generic “Writing tools” menu. The company has also paused the mandatory deployment of Copilot buttons across all applications, citing minimal user interest in the forced integration. This adjustment occurs as Microsoft continues to manage approximately 80 different Copilot-related apps and services.

In addition to the UI changes, Microsoft is reportedly working on performance and security enhancements for Windows 11 that we expect to see being deployed on Insider builds in the near future.

The switches are hot-swappable, allowing easy replacement with other magnetic switches.

Users can manage keystroke parameters in Cherry MagCrate software, which allows adjusting actuation points and assigning multiple functions to a single key based on press depth.

The Cherry Xtrfy K5 Pro TMR Compact is available now, priced at €149.99.

KitGuru says: If you were in the market for a 65% keyboard, would you consider Cherry Xtrfy's new K5 Pro TMR Compact?

Thermalright is launching its first pre-built PC – the AI HydroNous R1

10 April 2026 at 15:30

After announcing at Computex that it would launch a full system, Thermalright has finally made its debut in the pre-built PC market with the AI HydroNous R1. The system features an LCD panel and is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, cooled by an integrated liquid-cooling unit.

As spotted by ITHome, the system houses an integrated 180mm AIO liquid cooler for the CPU, along with LCP fans, supporting a 176W TDP, far above the Ryzen AI Max+ 395's 120W limit. That means the cooler should allow the CPU to sustain boost clock speeds for longer periods of time. Unfortunately, we do not yet know what RAM the system uses.

The chassis includes a 4.6-inch front-facing monitoring screen managed via the TRCC software. This display provides real-time data, including CPU frequency, temperatures, load, time, and date. The interior is designed for user access, featuring two SSD slots positioned behind the left side panel and a dedicated heatsink.

Connectivity is distributed across the top, rear, and bottom of the case. The I/O includes two USB 4.0 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, an HDMI output, and a DisplayPort. Networking is handled by dual Ethernet ports, providing 2.5GbE and 10GbE speeds. A 3.5mm audio jack and an SD card reader are also included.

KitGuru says: By the looks of it, the AI HydroNous R1 won't come cheap, but given it's from Thermalright, we might be surprised.

Keychron releases 3D printing files for its keyboards and mice

10 April 2026 at 08:00

Keychron has published a GitHub repository containing CAD files for its hardware designs, effectively making its keyboards and mice open-source hardware. The collection provides the community with access to 3D models and 2D plate files, enabling users to produce or modify enclosures and internal components using 3D printing or CNC milling.

First reported by Noteboocheck, Keychron has published a GitHub repository with most of its hardware designs. These repositories include STEP and DXF files, which are compatible with CAD software such as FreeCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD. The available designs cover a comprehensive range of components, including keycaps, keyboard housings, buttons, plates, mouse shells, and stabiliser housings.

Access to the files is managed through the Keychron website. Users select a specific hardware model from a menu and complete a checkout process to receive the download links. Keychron states that while these files are publicly accessible, the license prohibits their use for commercial purposes.

Although there are already plenty of model files available for download, some newer releases, like the Q Ultra series, are not. However, it seems Keychron is still adding more models, so we might see the missing ones at a later date.

KitGuru says: Do you think other peripheral brands should make their hardware designs open source? Will you consider this the next time you buy a peripheral?
