Cyberpunk 2077 Gets a PS5 Pro Upgrade Tomorrow, Adds PSSR 2.0 Support, Ray Tracing Pro, New Performance Modes and More

7 April 2026 at 19:13

A character in the game 'Cyberpunk 2077' is surrounded by cables and machinery in a dimly lit, industrial environment.

If you can believe it, Cyberpunk 2077 is about to get yet another visual improvement, at least for players who power their console gaming with a PS5 Pro. Developer CD Projekt RED's infamous RPG is getting a new update tomorrow, April 8, 2026, specifically around allowing the game to take full advantage of the professional-grade PlayStation, and the additional power that comes with it over a base PS5. A new PlayStation Blog post digs into the numerous enhancements that PS5 Pro owners will be able to take advantage of, including support for PSSR (and yes, it is PSSR 2.0 support), […]

PSSR Games List for PS5 Pro: Native 2.0 and Upgradeable 1.0 Titles

7 April 2026 at 18:30

A PlayStation 5 Pro console and DualSense controller are shown with the text 'PSSR2 PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution' and 'AI-Driven Upscaling.'

Following the recent release of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) 2.0, owners of a PlayStation 5 Pro console may be wondering exactly which of the games they own support the new upscaler. You'll find the full list, updated as much as possible to the latest games, below. For now, there's only a relatively small number of games that use the new algorithm natively. However, the good news is that there is a system-level toggle that can upgrade PSSR 1.0 games to version 2.0, improving image quality. Notably, PS5 Pro System Architect Mark Cerny has stated that 'the current strategy is […]

Guilty Gear Strive’s big 2.0 update is not coming to the Nintendo Switch

7 April 2026 at 13:00

Since as far back as August of last year, Arc System Works have been teasing Guilty Gear Strive’s big 2.0 update. With the release finally set to arrive in just a couple days’ time, the team have now detailed all of the many changes coming alongside patch 2.0 – including the fact that Switch 1 owners will unfortunately be left out of the fun.

Releasing the latest set of patch notes to their site, the team at Arc System Works officially detailed Guilty Gear Strive’s big 2.0 update. The full list of changes is pretty extensive, however some of the most notable additions include:

  • Jam Kuradoberi as a playable character
  • New ‘Cradled by the Four Beasts’ DLC stage
  • Main menu design overhaul
  • Battle UI customisation
  • Additional R-Code customisation
  • Updated character select screen
  • Training mode improvements
  • Ranked mode reset adjustments
  • Multiple quality-of-life improvements
  • Wide-sweeping balance adjustments

Guilty Gear Switch

As mentioned, the full list of changes is exhaustive, and can be found HERE. Unfortunately, those who play Strive on the OG Switch 1 won't be seeing any of these benefits, with Arc System Works confirming that the big 2.0 update pertains only to the PS4/5; Xbox One/Series; and PC.

Given that they will continue to support the last-gen releases of Strive, ceasing development on the Switch version is a shame to see – especially considering the fact that it only launched a little over a year ago.

Regardless, update 2.0 has been a long time coming, and so hopefully those who are able to experience this revamped version find plenty to enjoy. It will be interesting to see whether a Switch 2 version is eventually announced.

KitGuru says: Are you looking forward to update 2.0? Which new addition / change are you most excited for? Should Strive have been released for the Switch 1 in the first place? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Titan Army joins the 1000Hz monitor club with the U275M

7 April 2026 at 11:00

Titan Army is stepping into the “hyper refresh rate” segment with the U275M, a 27-inch gaming monitor that is part of a new wave of dual-mode displays that trade resolution for hyper-fast refresh rates over 1000Hz.

As noted by Wccftech, at 1060Hz, the U275M currently ranks second-fastest among publicly announced monitors, trailing only the HKC Antgamer, which offers a 1080Hz mode. To support this speed, the monitor uses Dual-Side Backlight Technology and Quantum Dot (QD) film, achieving HDR 600 certification and professional-grade Delta E < 1 colour accuracy.

A refresh rate of 1060Hz is meaningless if the pixel response times can't keep up, leading to “ghosting” or smeary images. To combat this, Titan Army is introducing Dynamic Display 2.0. This updated motion-clarity system reportedly combines Black Frame Insertion (BFI) with local dimming control to eliminate “screen shaking” and motion blur.

While the U275M can deliver an impressive refresh rate, playing at 720p on a 27-inch screen is a significant hurdle for many. At that resolution and size, pixel density drops to roughly 54 PPI, which can make text and fine details look incredibly blocky.

KitGuru says: Would you be willing to reduce the display resolution to 720p to reach a 1000Hz refresh rate?

Titan Army Introduces U275M, A 1060Hz Dual Mode Gaming Monitor, Featuring DyDs 2.0 Technology For Motion Clarity

4 April 2026 at 20:21

Two gaming monitors with a glowing logo on the back, labeled 'U275M,' are displayed against a cosmic background.

Another monitor maker just introduced its 1000+Hz gaming monitor for competitive gaming, and this one is a dual-mode monitor, too. Titan Army Shows Off Its New Dual-Mode Gaming Monitor That Can Reach 1060 Hz at HD and Brings Excellent Color Accuracy We have at least 3-4 monitor makers who have announced their 1000 Hz gaming monitor models in the past few months. HKC and its subsidiary, Antgamer, were the first vendors in China to introduce a 1000 Hz gaming monitor, and now it's Titan Army, which has teased its latest 1060 Hz offering on Twitter. Titan Army has a wide […]

PSSR 2 Provides “Overall a Much Better Image” Across Multiple Games on PS5 Pro, But There Are Some Remaing Issues, Says Digital Foundry

26 March 2026 at 16:24

The image shows a Sony PlayStation 5 Pro console in a vertical position against a dark background.

PlayStation's initial foray into developing its own upscaling technology with PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) was, unfortunately for PlayStation, very hit and miss. It's never a good thing when the new technology that is supposed to make games look better, on the latest and greatest hardware, look worse than it does without that tech on the old hardware. Thankfully, though, it seems like PSSR 2, the upgraded and enhanced version of the upscaler is capable of delivering "overall, a much better image," across multiple titles, according to Digital Foundry's Oliver Mackenzie. Despite it still having some remaining issues. That comes […]

Guilty Gear Strive 2.0 update finally arrives next month

23 March 2026 at 13:00

Since as far back as last August, the team at Arc System Works have been teasing a major update coming to their anime fighter Guilty Gear Strive. Said to be arriving in the form of version 2.0, the update had not been given a release window outside of ‘2026’. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait much longer, with Guilty Gear Strive 2.0 officially set to go live on the 9th of April.

Making the official announcement at the end of the Arc World Tour Finals, the team at Arc System Works confirmed that Guilty Gear Strive will receive its 2.0 update on the 9th of April in alignment with the start of Season 5.

Alongside additions including new special moves; the counter blitz mechanic; customisation and more, version 2.0 will also coincide with the release of a new character – Jam Kuradoberi. Following them will be Robo-Ky sometime during the Summer, with two more characters planned for Winter 2026 and Spring 2027 respectively.

While we will have to wait until closer to launch to receive a full breakdown of all the patch notes, it is exciting to finally have an official release date for the long-awaited 2.0 update.

Discuss on our Facebook page HERE.

KitGuru says: Are you looking forward to the 2.0 update? What characters do you hope will be added in the future? Let us know down below.

Starfield Dev Pushes Back on 2.0 Narrative But Says Free Lanes Is Huge and the Best (Yet Not Final) Version of the Game

17 March 2026 at 20:00

Two characters and a robot in 'Starfield' standing around a digital table in a futuristic setting.

The Starfield cat is out of the bag, revealing everything that Bethesda Game Studios is planning to launch on April 7: the long-awaited PlayStation 5 version, a new free update called Free Lanes and labeled as the game's biggest yet, and a new small-scale story-driven premium DLC, Terran Armada. Wccftech attended a press remote presentation in which Lead Creative Producer Timothy Lamb discussed all these topics at length. He also answered the inevitable question on whether this was, effectively, "Starfield 2.0", by dismissing the notion and all that it would entail. At the same time, Lamb believes this is indeed […]

Alan Wake 2 and CONTROL Ultimate Edition will join the likes of Resident Evil Requiem soon, as the two games developed by Remedy Entertainment will receive support for the new version of the PlayStation 5 Pro PSSR upscaler. This update will allow users to "explore the Oldest House and Bright Falls with a new level of visual fidelity," the developer announced on Bluesky. In announcing PSSR 2.0 support, Remedy provided the first details of the upgrade, promising "noticeable improvements in image stability and clarity of motion."
