7 October 2025 at 15:00

Amazon Prime Day has arrived and MSI has dished out some big discounts on a range of laptops for the UK sale, cutting prices by up to £900.

Each discount is sold on a ‘while stocks last' basis, so certain deals may not be available for the entire duration of the Prime Day sale, which ends on October 8th.

The biggest discount of the event comes to the MSI Stealth A18 AI+, which normally goes for £2,899, but is currently down to £1,999. Another high-end laptop, the MSI Vector 16 HX AI has also been discounted from £2799 to £2399, a £400 saving.

There is a cheaper version of the MSI Vector 16 HX AI with an Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU rather than a Core Ultra 9, and an RTX 5070 Ti GPU for £1499. This should be up your alley if you are looking for the most balanced spec for the price tag.

There are two £999 laptops from MSI currently discounted. The first is the Cyborg 15 A13VF-802UK, which houses an Intel Core i7-13620H processor and an RTX 4060, which is down to £750. The second is an MSI Thin 15 gaming laptop with a 13th Gen Core i5 CPU and an RTX 4050 GPU for £650

Over in our full video review on YouTube we put the Project Zero PBM Essential through its paces across 6 different games at both 1440p and 4k. The system shows strong 1440p gaming performance, running respectable framerates in pretty much all of the titles we tested. We also dove in to the benefits and frame gains that can be achieved when utilising DLSS 4 and frame generation, as can be seen by some of the screenshots below. For full details of all titles that we tested, head over to YouTube and watch the review in full.

Closing Thoughts

CyberPowerPC have done a decent job of putting this ‘Powered by MSI' system together. Cable management is good and it's clear to see that the machine has been built with care. The overall aesthetic is great, with the MAG Pano 100R PZ case being a great platform for showing off the components. The GPU in particular is a stunner with its dragon cut-out backplate.

Gaming performance on the most part was great, excelling at 1440p and being helped at 4K with the use of DLSS and Frame Generation – love em' or hate em', they're both features that are here to stay.

It's not all sunshine and rainbows for the MSI Project Zero PBM Essential desktop, though. XMP was not enabled before the machine was delivered to us and the graphics card driver was a few months out of date – both things are an easy fix, but could go unnoticed by less ‘techy' customers picking up a system from CyberPowerPC.

We'd also say the choice of RAM leaves a bit to be desired – 5200MT/s speeds (after we enabled XMP) and CL40 timings are not particularly cutting edge either.

You can buy the MSI Project Zero PBM Essential desktop directly from CyberPowerPC for £2149.20 HERE

Pros:

  • Good 1440p gaming performance.
  • Latest gen Nvidia GPU offering DLSS and Multi Frame Generation for 4K gaming.
  • Good cable management.
  • Reasonable pricing.

Cons:

  • XMP not enabled by Cyberpower PC.
  • System memory is slow (5200MT/s CL40) and does not have RGB to match the rest of the build.
  • GPU driver was a few months out of date.

KitGuru says: The MSI Project Zero PBM Essential is a decent gaming desktop that's been built well and will handle 1440p gaming with ease. It was let down by a few missing finishing touches during the build though and could definitely benefit from some faster (and flashier) memory.

You can currently save up to £1000 on RTX 50-powered MSI gaming laptops

24 September 2025 at 16:45

MSI is slashing prices across a wide range of high-end RTX 50-powered gaming laptops this month. The biggest discount is quite astonishing, with £1000 wiped off the price of an RTX 5090 gaming laptop, although you will still need deep pockets to buy one.

The MSI Raider A18 HX comes with a Ryzen 9 9955HX3D CPU, 64GB of DDR5 memory, a 2TB SSD for storage, a 4K Mini LED 120Hz display and, perhaps most importantly, an RTX 5090 GPU. Normally, this laptop goes for £4,799, but it is currently discounted by £1000, bringing the price down to £3,799 in the UK.

The next biggest saving comes to the MSI Rader A18, which offers the same specifications as the HX model, but with an RTX 5080 instead, which is still a very good GPU. Normally, this model goes for £3,999, but it is currently £800 off, bringing the price down to £3,199.

If you need to shave some money off that price tag but still want an RTX 5080 powered laptop, then the MSI Stealth 18 HX AI+ is down from £3,449 to £2,999. This laptop ships with a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU instead, along with an RTX 5080.

If an RTX 5070 is more within your budget, then the MSI Stealth 18 HX AI should be your point of call, featuring an Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU, paired with RTX 5070 graphics. Normally, this model goes for £2,799, but is currently down to £2,299.

The final laptop on our list is the most expensive of the bunch. The MSI Titan 18 HX AI is one beast of a laptop and it has the price tag to match, typically going for £5,000. This laptop is special due to the fact that it ships with an unlocked Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, allowing you to overclock if you want to tinker and squeeze out some extra performance. This laptop also has a massive 6TB of SSD storage, a 4K/120Hz display and RTX 5080 graphics. Currently, it is being sold for £450 off, bringing the price down to £4,599.

19 September 2025 at 15:30

MSI has announced the launch of three special editions of its compact mechanical keyboard, the Forge GK600 TKL wireless. These three distinct and stylish designs are aimed at gamers and creators, introducing variety to the typical black and white themes and standard font keycaps commonly found on most keyboards.

The three special edition variants are named Mars, Topo Blue, and Topo White. The Mars version features a futuristic space-themed design, while the Topo models have a clean, modern look with layered contour line patterns. All three come with durable PBT keycaps to resist wear and shine and feature programmable RGB lighting to complete the look.

Beneath the custom aesthetics, the Forge GK600 is a feature-packed tenkeyless keyboard. It features a multi-layer sound-dampening structure with foams and gaskets, providing a quieter and more pleasing typing sound. The board comes equipped with linear mechanical switches, but for those who want to customise the feel, the sockets are hot-swappable and compatible with both 3-pin and 5-pin MX-style switches.

The keyboard offers versatile tri-mode connectivity via low-latency 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.1, or a wired USB-C connection. A neat addition is a small 1.06-inch display integrated into the board, which displays at-a-glance status information, including battery life, connection mode, and lighting modes, accessible via dedicated hotkeys. The MSI Forge GK600 TKL Wireless Special Editions is launching this month, though final pricing will be set on a regional basis by local retailers.

MSI doubles speed with DATAMAG 40Gbps

12 September 2025 at 16:00

Earlier this month, we reviewed the MSI DATAMAG 20Gbps, a magnetic, external SSD capable of impressive speeds. Now, MSI is bringing an even faster version to the market, the DATAMAG 40Gbps.

The MSI DATAMAG 40Gbps utilises a USB4 40Gbps interface to further increase speeds. This model will be capable of up to 4000MB/s read speed and up to 3600MB/s write speed. This is more than double the unit we reviewed previously, which had transfer speeds of up to 1600MB/s and 1500MB/s read/write.

The MSI DATAMAG 40Gbps will be available in 1TB, 2TB and 4TB capacities. Through a dedicated DATAMAG app, you can manage your storage, check capacity, create backups or restore old ones. The magnetic design is in place for creators, creating a secure fit for the device on laptops, tablets, smart phones or a desktop PC case.

The DATAMAG is also purpose built for compatibility with mobile devices. For instance, you can use it for ProRes recordings, a feature available on the latest iPhone Pro models, so you can capture and store new footage directly to the drive. A 4TB model would be capable of holding up to 143 minutes of 4K/120FPS footage.

If you ever run into an issue, the MSI DATAMAG is backed by a 5-year warranty, so their support should be able to help. The MSI DATAMAG 40Gbps will be available via Amazon and SCAN, with prices starting at £112.99 for the 1TB model, going up to £174.99 for the 2TB model. Pricing for the 4TB version has not yet been announced.

MSI Datamag 20Gbps 2TB External SSD Review

2 September 2025 at 13:00

The Datamag is MSI's first external SSD storage device. The drive uses a USB 3.2 Gen2 x2 (20Gbps) interface and fits neatly in the palm of the hand. Priced at around £140 in the UK for the 2TB model, we put it through its paces and find out if it's worth buying.

The tiny drive (it measures 66 x 13 x 6mm) is available in three capacities: 1TB, 2TB (the drive we are reviewing) and the flagship 4TB drive. The Datamag uses a Phison PS2251-U18 controller, which looks after 3D TLC NAND. MSI quotes Sequential read / write performance figures for the drive of up to 1,600MB/s and 1,500MB/s, respectively, so a little short of the interface's maximum speed.

The base of the drive includes a magnet, hence the mag part of the drive's name. MSI bundles two steel rings with the drive so it can be attached to non-magnetic surfaces.

Physical Specifications:

  • Usable Capacities: 2TB.
  • NAND Components:  3D TLC.
  • NAND Controller: Phison PS2251-U18.
  • Interface: USB 3.2 Gen2 x2.
  • Form Factor: External.
  • Dimensions: 66 x 13 x 6mm.
  • Drive Weight: 81g.

Firmware Version: PMAP.

This monitor was first announced back in May, but Videocardz now reports availability of the MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50. The monitor uses a 3rd-gen Samsung QD-OLED panel, featuring 2560×1440 resolution, a 500Hz refresh rate, and a 0.03ms GtG response time. An extreme VESA ClearMR 21000 certification further underscores the focus on motion clarity, while the DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification ensures a good HDR experience and deep blacks. The 10-bit colour panel offers extensive colour coverage, handling up to 98% of Adobe RGB, 99% of DCI-P3, and 138% of sRGB, as well as a console mode (1080/1440p at 60/120Hz) with VRR support.

MSI is also introducing some significant firmware and software enhancements with this new model. Responding to user feedback on its OLED Care features, the company has updated the firmware to extend the mandatory pixel refresh interval, now allowing for up to 24 hours of uninterrupted use before a reminder is necessary. For those who want more brightness in HDR, a new “EOTF Boost” mode has been added, which is said to deliver a brighter image than the standard “Peak 1000 nits” setting under the same APL conditions.

The monitor comes with a height-adjustable stand with pivot, tilt, and swivel capabilities. If that's not enough, there's always support for VESA 100×100 monitor arms to enhance ergonomics further. For connectivity, there are two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4a, a USB-C port with DP alternative mode and 15W of power delivery, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
