Mojang is Stacking Another Game in September 2026 With Minecraft Dungeons 2 Arriving on PC and Consoles

5 June 2026 at 20:53

A dynamic cover image of 'Minecraft Dungeons II' featuring pixelated characters in action with glowing weapons and enemies surrounding them.

Minecraft Dungeons 2 has a release date, just two months after it was first revealed this past March 2026. It'll arrive on all current-gen PC and console platforms (including Nintendo Switch 2) this coming September 29, 2026. Spotted by Wario64 on X (formerly Twitter), the game's Nintendo eShop page went live earlier than it should've, ahead of its reveal either later today on Summer Game Fest 2026 or on Sunday, during the Xbox Games Showcase. There's always a few games that entirely leak ahead of the show with an early store page or an early tweet. This year, it's Minecraft […]

No Rest for the Wicked Won’t Arrive on Xbox Alongside the PS5 Thanks to the Series S “Making That Rough”

4 June 2026 at 14:20

Xbox Series S and Series X consoles alongside a game character with long hair and golden armor in a fantasy setting.

One of the many announcements that came out of PlayStation's State of Play event earlier this week was the reveal that No Rest for the Wicked, the action RPG from Ori developer Moon Studios, would launch out of early access this coming October 2026 and launch on PS5, but not Xbox Series X/S or Nintendo Switch 2. It's not uncommon to see Switch/Switch 2 versions of games arrive later, but what's the holdup for Xbox? Well, according to Moon Studios boss and creative director Thomas Mahler, the responsible party is the Xbox Series S. As spotted by VGC after the […]

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is the Latest AAA Game Made With GenAI Tools in an “Early Exploration” Development Phase

3 June 2026 at 14:31

A character in a jungle setting aims a pistol at two red dinosaur-like creatures.

Last night during PlayStation's State of Play event for June 2026, Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog showcased more of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, and also confirmed rumours that it had been delayed into next year with the announcement of a February 12, 2027, release date. After the dust settled, however, and the initial craze of all the announcements had passed, players spotted a key point on the game's Steam page: a disclosure that Generative AI (GenAI) tools were used in an "early exploration" phase of development. The statement on the game's Steam page reads, "AI-assisted tools were used […]

Until Dawn 2 Revealed With Horizon: Call of the Mountain Devs Firesprite Games Behind it, Arrives on PS5 in 2027

2 June 2026 at 23:21

A person with glasses is partially illuminated by red light against a dark background.

After getting a small tease from actor Peter Stromae, it was finally revealed during today's State of Play that yes, Until Dawn 2 is coming, though not from Supermassive Games. Instead, it's being made by Horizon: Call of the Mountain developers, Firesprite Games, and it'll arrive on PS5 sometime in 2027. The game is not some attempt at a continuation of the story from the first game, but is instead a standalone experience with brand new characters and a new cast behind it, and "true to form, a modern horror experience packed with intrigue, emotion, twists, and the kind of […]

Embark Studios Reportedly Testing Two PvE-Focused ARC Raiders Map Conditions in China, Seemingly Leaning Into PvE-Focused Players

1 June 2026 at 15:25

Two characters in a battle against a large robotic creature in a dusty urban setting from the game Immortals of Aveum.

If you've been playing ARC Raiders since it launched in October 2025, then you've seen evolve into a friendlier sort of extraction shooter. One where players have chosen to play a PvE game, only firing their weapons at robotic ARC enemies instead of other Raiders. Now, a new report from Insider-Gaming points to developer Embark Studios testing a first-of-its-kind PvE map condition called 'Rebellion Incident.' The report claims that the map condition is being tested in China, with discussion of the new map condition having been spotted on Chinese social media platforms. Rebellion is one of two map conditions being […]

Xbox Decides to Get Out of the Way of GTA 6, Delays Fable to February 2027

29 May 2026 at 16:59

A collage showcasing 'Minecraft Dungeons II,' 'Forza Horizon 6,' 'Halo: Campaign Evolved,' 'Gears of War: E-Day,' 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III,' and 'Fable' under the text 'NEW AND UPCOMING.'

Fable has been delayed into February 2027, it was announced today by Xbox ahead of its Xbox Games Showcase as part of Summer Game Fest 2026 on June 7, 2026. After just getting done with bringing Forza Horizon 6 to market, developer Playground Games is getting a little more time to polish up the reboot of the RPG series, though the delay seems to be as much about avoiding Grand Theft Auto 6 as it is about Playground needing the extra time. A statement from Xbox shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account directly cites the onslaught of major […]

Bethesda Explains How Fallout 76: Infestations Will Make the Map Sizzle With Emergent Co-Op Chaos: ‘Appalachia Is Our Biggest Asset’

28 May 2026 at 19:00

Colorful poster for 'Fallout 76: Infestations' featuring a Vault Boy character giving a thumbs-up amidst cartoon-style wasteland creatures and robots.

Ahead of the imminent Fallout 76: Infestations update (currently on the Public Test Server and due for a full launch on Thursday, June 2), Bethesda Game Studios invited press and content creators to a media presentation where they outlined the patch's main features and changes. The titular Infestations is an entirely new dynamic activity designed to make Appalachia feel active again by overrunning locations with faction bosses and their mobs across 40 possible locations across the Toxic Valley, Forest, Ash Heap, Savage Divide, Mire, and Cranberry Bog regions. Unlike other activities, Infestations are organic discoveries, as they are not pre-marked on the […]

Edge of Memories Composer Believes AI Is Useful Tool, But Slams It For Generating Art: “Art Cannot Exist Without Humanity”

27 May 2026 at 14:45

A character from the game 'Edge of Memories' stands in a vibrant landscape with a sword in hand and an armored claw, against a backdrop of colorful skies and flowers.

The widespread adoption of AI is having a massive impact on society, but those bearing the brunt of it are artists whose original works are being replaced by the derivative, average products of generative AI. While most of the industry's attention has focused on how generative AI impacts visual artists, video game composers, and musicians are wrongly overlooked. With the rise of AI bands that are almost indistinguishable from the real thing to an untrained ear, there is a very real possibility that video game soundtracks will become derivative, losing the distinct magic that defines the entire gaming experience. For […]

Warhorse Pins Next Kingdom Come: Deliverance to 2027-2028, But Stops Short of Calling It KCD 3

27 May 2026 at 09:30

The protagonist of Kingdom Come Deliverance in tattered armor solemnly rests his head on the hilt of an ornate sword against a colorful, patterned backdrop.

A week ago, Warhorse Studios presented its ambitious development pipeline: a new Kingdom Come: Deliverance game and a Middle-earth open world RPG. The latter gained the most interest in press headlines, as you would expect, but the vague wording on the new KCD title worried fans a bit. Was this going to be something entirely different, possibly in another genre? Well, in a subsequent community livestream, Warhorse Community Director Tobias Stolz-Zwilling confirmed that like its predecessor, the new Kingdom Come game will be an open world RPG, so there's nothing to worry about on that front. However, he stopped short […]

Forza Horizon 6 Races Toward Estimated 5M Sales and $325M in Week One Despite Game Pass Cannibalizing Some Sales

22 May 2026 at 15:36

A blue Lamborghini sports car speeds down a highway at night in the game 'Forza Horizon 6.'

Forza Horizon 6 launched earlier this week (or at the end of last week if you bought the Premium Edition), and according to a new report from Alinea Analytics, the latest driving game from developer Playground Games is, unsurprisingly, a massive hit as it nears an estimated 5 million copies sold and $325 million earned in gross revenue in its first week on store shelves. According to the report, Playground Games' trip to Japan had no problem selling millions of copies off the jump despite its inclusion on Xbox Game Pass right at launch for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. Helldivers 2 update to add DLSS, DRS, latency improvements and more

22 May 2026 at 10:30

Helldivers 2 has been on an interesting trajectory, with the PlayStation-published co-op shooter seeing equal amounts of success and strife from fans depending on the update. On the technological side of things however, Helldivers 2 has been on the upswing – with the title set to receive a suite of upscalers and other optimisations later this month.

Taking to their Steam page to detail the upcoming update, the team at Arrowhead Game Studios announced the ‘Optimizing Liberty’ update.

Going live on the 27th of May, this patch will introduce a number of welcome improvements both in terms of performance and visuals, including support for:

  • FSR 4.0.3 (PC)
  • DLSS 4.5 (PC)
  • XeSS 3.0 (PC)
  • PSSR (PS5 Pro)
  • FSR 3.1 (Base PS5 and Xbox)

Alongside these upscalers, the update will also add other smaller enhancements, including VRR support on PlayStation; as well as VRS (Variable Rate Shading) and Dynamic Resolution Scaling across all platforms.

Helldivers Update

Thanks to these optimisations, Helldivers 2’s performance mode on both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will now run at higher max resolutions (said to be 1440p).

Last but certainly not least, the update will also incorporate Nvidia’s Reflex and AMD’s Anti-lag 2 technology for minimal input latency.

Ever since Nixxes partnered with Arrowhead to work on Helldivers 2, we’ve seen a ton of welcome improvements – and while this upcoming patch is exciting – the team have promised another “dedicated tech-focused update later this summer to push these improvements even further”. It will be interesting to see what else is planned in this regard.

KitGuru says: What do you think of this upcoming update? Do you use upscalers? Let us know down below.

Helldivers 2 To Get NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, FSR 4.03 Support, But PlayStation 5 Pro Owners Will Only Get PSSR 1.0

21 May 2026 at 15:09

A character in 'Helldivers 2' is evading a massive, flame-spewing mechanical creature in a snowy, desolate landscape.

The popular Helldivers 2 is the rare modern game that launched on PC without supporting any major upscaling technology like NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR, but this is set to change next week, on May 27, with the release of a new set of technical improvements. Console users will also get some of these improvements, but PlayStation 5 Pro players will inevitably be disappointed by the decision not to bring support for the latest iteration of the PSSR upscaler. "We’re excited to announce a new set of technical improvements, deploying May 27th. In collaboration with our partners at Nixxes, this release brings […]

Kingdom Come studio now working on LOTR RPG

20 May 2026 at 15:00

Warhorse Studios, the team behind the critically acclaimed Kingdom Come Deliverance, has announced its next two projects. Yes, a third Kingdom Come game is being planned, but beyond that, the studio is also now working on a Lord of the Rings RPG.

In a surprise announcement this week, Warhorse Studios took to social media to tease its next two projects, with one being “a new Kingdom Come adventure” and the other being “an open world Middle-Earth RPG”.

Unfortunately, no further details have been shared yet but fans are already speculating about the wording. The phrasing ‘Middle-Earth RPG' indicates that we will be getting a game set within the LOTR universe, but not directly connected to the story from the books, similarly to how Warner Bros. handled Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War.

Additionally “a new Kingdom Come adventure” is not direct confirmation of Kingdom Come Deliverance 3, so there is some speculation that we may get a spin-off of sorts, or perhaps a Kingdom Come game set in a new genre, rather than a direct sequel to the RPGs released so far.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: Warhorse Studios is perhaps the perfect pick for a new Lord of the Rings game. The Kingdom Come games were highly impressive, so it will be interesting to see what they come up with in a few years' time.

PlayStation’s Single-Player Games Will Stay PlayStation Exclusives With No PC Ports, CEO Herman Hulst Reportedly Told Staff Today

18 May 2026 at 19:51

Back in March, a report from Bloomberg pointed to PlayStation moving away from bringing its first-party, narrative-driven single-player games like God of War, Ghost of Yotei, Saros, and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet to PC. Multiplayer games like Marathon and Helldivers 2 will still head to other platforms, but not single-player titles. Now, a new report from Bloomberg adds that today, in a town hall meeting, Herman Hulst, chief executive officer of studio businesses at PlayStation, told staff that single-player narrative games will be PlayStation console exclusive titles going forward. It's the latest nail in the coffin of PlayStation's short-lived PC-PS5-parity-era, […]

Sucker Punch is Already Moving on From Ghost of Yotei: Legends With No New Content Planned Two Months After Launch

18 May 2026 at 13:59

A mysterious, masked warrior and a ghostly figure with long hair are in a shadowy forest setting, suggesting a scene from a video game.

Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yotei developer Sucker Punch Productions is ready to move on to whatever its next project will be, as the studio confirms that its Legends multiplayer spin-off mode that was a surprise hit with Ghost of Tsushima has already received its last major update for its Ghost of Yotei iteration. In a PlayStation Blog post, Sucker Punch confirmed that the raid update added last month was, in fact, the final major update that Ghost of Yotei: Legends would receive. "The Raid was our last major planned update for Legends. It finishes the story of the […]

ARC Raiders is overhauling its live-service strategy moving forward

14 May 2026 at 08:30

While Embark Studios have continuously updated ARC Raiders with new content and updates, general sentiment surrounding the popular extraction shooter has waned somewhat over the past months. As a result, the team have now announced that they are shifting their live-service plans, replacing smaller more consistent updates with “major updates twice a year.”

Following the successful launch of ARC Raiders last year, Embark Studios shared a detailed 2026 roadmap, confirming that they planned to release updates on a monthly basis. While the team have managed to maintain this promise so far, reactions to the updates themselves have been less-than-stellar.

It appears the team are listening, with Embark Studios taking to their blog to confirm some pretty wide-sweeping changes, writing:

“When ARC Raiders launched, we planned to offer monthly updates. The intention was to keep you all engaged, to ensure the game always felt fresh, and to give you reasons to keep braving topside. But once the game was in players' hands, we saw that the kind of long-term experience we want to create for ARC Raiders requires more transformative updates.”

ARC Raiders live-service

Describing this previous schedule as not “sustainable, or compatible with the bigger ambitions we have for this game,” Embark are now shifting strategies, confirming that “going forward, we've made the decision to release major updates twice a year – larger in scale, more impactful, with the goal to genuinely change how you play the game.”

Of course, a dedicated team will persist to ensure that day-to-day balance changes, updates and tweaks can continue to be released at regular intervals. That said, in terms of substantial content updates, these will now come far less often, but should be more exciting.

Offering a tease on what to expect from this new release schedule, the team confirmed that the next major update will arrive in October. Dubbed the ‘Frozen Trail’, this content drop will introduce:

  • A new landscape in the Rust Belt (the largest so far)
  • The biggest ARC Operation so far (with new enemies, fresh designs and more)
  • New progression system
  • An improved skill tree
  • New weapons, items and more

KitGuru says: What did you think of ARC Raiders’ current live-service approach? Did it need an overhaul? Are you more or less hopeful for the future of the game in the wake of these changes? Let us know down below.

Embark Studios is “Building for the Long-Term” by Cutting ARC Raiders Updates Down to Twice a Year for “More Impactful” Releases

13 May 2026 at 18:00

Three characters in futuristic gear stand against a backdrop with the title 'ARC Raiders' and a colorful striped design.

ARC Raiders was one of 2025's biggest games, with millions of copies sold and, for a time, hundreds of thousands of players diving into the Rust Belt every day on Steam alone. While some of its momentum has waned, developer Embark Studios is looking to address the problems the community has recently had with the game, and has announced a new strategy for how ARC Raiders will evolve going forward. The long and short of it is that Embark is moving away from its previous cadence of updates for ARC Raiders, and that the third-person extraction shooter will now be […]

Returnal Fans Flocked to Saros, but it’s Reportedly Off to a Slower Start and Could “Struggle to Break Even”

13 May 2026 at 15:39

A character in a futuristic armored suit kneels in a desolate desert setting under a dramatic sky in a scene from the video game Starfield.

Saros, the new third-person bullet-hell shooter from PlayStation Studios' team Housemarque arrived right at the tail-end of the past month on April 30, and while it's undoubtedly a hit with critics (our own Kai Tatsumoto included), it doesn't appear to be making the same impact on the sales charts, at least according to the latest estimations from Alinea Analytics. The firm's latest report focused on the new first-party PS5 exclusive title, estimating that it has been able to sell over 300,000 copies in its first two weeks on PlayStation store shelves, with an estimated $22 million in gross revenue earned […]

Battlefield 6 Season 3 Now Live, New Map Sparks Biggest Player Spike on Steam in Months

12 May 2026 at 20:12

The promotional image for 'Battlefield 6 Season 3' depicts soldiers in combat gear against a mountainous warzone backdrop, with the text 'Battlefield 6 Redsec Season 3' prominently displayed.

EA and Battlefield Studios have officially launched the third season of Battlefield 6 with its first phase, Warlords: Supremacy, adding three new weapons, new attachments, a Ranked Battle Royale queue for Battlefield REDSEC, and most importantly, the introduction of the Railway to Golmud map. Golmud, which is now the largest map in Battlefield 6, has also helped drive the best spike in the game's concurrent player numbers on Steam in months. Battlefield 6 has struggled in comparison to its numbers at launch. The last time it held a concurrent player count of over 100K players on Steam was in January […]
