Co-op roguelite Serious Sam: Shatterverse officially announced

31 March 2026 at 11:00

While in many ways a classic of the early 2000s FPS space, Serious Sam has had a bit of a mixed past with many of its more recent releases failing to live up to the series’ legacy. That said, in a surprise announcement, publisher Devolver Digital and Dead By Daylight’s Behaviour Interactive have officially unveiled Serious Sam: Shatterverse – a co-op focused first person rougelite.

Releasing an official announcement trailer comprised of both cinematic and gameplay snippets, Devolver Digital officially unveiled Serious Sam: Shatterverse: a “co-op roguelite FPS for 1 – 5 players” in which you’ll “blast through shifting universes, stack wild boons, bend the rules with run modifiers, and hunt Mental's deadliest forces.”

Unlike the mainline entries which are developed by Croteam, Shatterverse is being worked on by Behaviour Interactive – the studio best known for creating the highly-successful Dead By Daylight series. That said, Shatterverse looks nothing like the team’s previous output, with the first-person shooter taking a lower-poly retro aesthetic more akin to the franchise’s earlier entries.

Neither a price nor a release date (aside from a vague 2026) have been announced for the game, however the team did confirm that when it does launch, Serious Sam: Shatterverse will land on PC; Xbox Series X|S and PS5 – meaning no Switch 2 version (at least for now).

As mentioned, while the Serious Sam series is a bit of a mixed bag overall, Shatterverse looks set to be a fun FPS roguelite from a team who is intimately familiar with how to do online co-op. Hopefully the upcoming release proves to be the best entry in many years. We will have to wait and see.

Ball X Pit comes to mobile and promises feature parity with PC and console versions

16 March 2026 at 15:15

BALL x PIT has launched on mobile, bringing the full PC and console version of Kenny Sun and Friends’ BAFTA‑nominated brick‑breaking roguelite to phones and tablets. The mobile release includes all current features, right up to the recently added Regal Update, and future updates such as Shadow and Naturalist will arrive day‑and‑date with other platforms.

Originally released on PC, BALL x PIT quickly became a breakout hit thanks to its fast, repeatable gameplay loop and deep upgrade systems. It went on to become one of the highest‑rated games on Steam Deck, regularly appearing in the handheld’s most‑played charts and earning a reputation as a “just one more run” timesink. The core idea blends brick‑breaking physics with roguelite escalation, with players firing bouncing projectiles into dense enemy formations, gathering resources, expanding their base, and pushing deeper into increasingly hostile biomes.

The mobile version retains the full feature set. Players can fuse more than 60 types of balls to create powerful synergies, build over 70 structures to strengthen their settlement, and battle through deserts, caverns and forests filled with enemies and bosses. Recruitable heroes add additional modifiers, changing how each run unfolds and encouraging experimentation across multiple builds.

Devolver positions the mobile edition as the complete BALL x PIT experience rather than a cut‑down port, with cross‑platform update parity and no missing systems. The mobile version is available now on iOS and Android, available as a free-to-try app, but costing £9.99 to unlock the full game and retain permanent access.

KitGuru Says: I've spent quite a lot of time on this game on my Steam Deck during the evenings. A mobile port opens it up to even more players. It helps that this is the exact sort of game that should work well on mobile.
