Apple Plans A Stealth $100 Price Hike For The MacBook Neo By Killing The $599 Base Model, Sweetening The Blow With New Colors

7 May 2026 at 14:44

An Apple MacBook is open on a table, displaying a colorful abstract background, with another closed MacBook in yellow

Apple might adopt a clever strategy to paper over the fact that selling the base MacBook Neo at $599 is increasingly becoming uneconomical, forcing a switch to higher-tier storage options where an elevated cost pass-through is much more feasible. Apple might cushion the blow from an effective $100 price increase for the MacBook Neo by introducing new color options As most of our readers would know by now, the MacBook Neo is powered by the binned A18 Pro chips, where one GPU core is disabled. Even so, Apple has been shocked by the oncoming demand for its new budget MacBook, […]

Apple's MacBook Neo appears to have unleashed a litany of earthquakes within the fairly complacent Windows 11-based laptop sphere, so much so that Microsoft is now apparently paying third-party organizations to come up with favorable comparisons to downplay the MacBook Neo's utility. Signal65 concludes in a Microsoft-funded report that Windows 11-based laptops provide higher value than Apple's MacBook Neo In its latest Lab Insights report, which has been commissioned by none other than Microsoft itself, Signal65 notes: "[Across the segment targeted by Apple's MacBook Neo], many Windows 11 laptops are designed to target similar audiences with a differentiated value proposition […]

MacBook Neo Won’t Let Chromebooks Or Windows Laptops Take A Breather This Year As Apple Eyes Ambitious 10 Million Production Goal

6 May 2026 at 12:18

Apple to overpay for A18 Pro chips as it wants suppliers to boost MacBook Pro production

A chip supply deficit is a situation that no company wants to face, especially when it hinders a popular product’s supply. Apple has witnessed tremendous success with the MacBook Neo launch, which starts from $599, and is reportedly facing A18 Pro chip supply issues earlier. This conundrum not only threatened the company’s ability to ship its more affordable computer to customers, but Apple also faced the possibility of having to overpay TSMC for the same silicon due to the latter’s supply choke. Fortunately, the Cupertino firm didn’t reach its trillion-dollar status by caving in, which is why it has reportedly asked suppliers […]

Apple is facing MacBook Neo and Mac mini supply shortages due to lack of anticipation of advanced chip supply and OpenClaw popularity

Memory supply constraints aren’t the only problem that Apple is facing, as during its Q2 2026 earnings call, the company revealed it didn’t anticipate agentic AI use cases like OpenClaw would pick up in popularity, causing its Mac mini and Mac Studio stock to run out. Additionally, the company didn’t expect that its aggressive pricing strategy with the MacBook Neo meant that it would run out of advanced chip supply for its most affordable portable Mac. In short, the California-based giant is suffering from a problem its competitors wish they had, but that also means Apple has missed out on potentially millions […]

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero to get massive DLC with over 30 new characters

21 April 2026 at 10:15

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is the spiritual successor to the beloved Budokai series of fighting games, with the dormant franchise returning after well over a decade under a new name. Released back in 2024, the game was a near-immediate success, becoming the fastest-selling entry in the franchise while pushing over 5 million copies. Despite featuring well over 100 characters, Bandai Namco have announced a massive DLC coming to Sparking! Zero this Summer; featuring over 30 new characters, a whole new game mode and much more.

Making the official announcement, studio Bandai Namco unveiled Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero’s ‘Super Limit Breaking NEO’ DLC. Set to arrive sometime this Summer, this expansion of sorts will include a ton of new content from across the board, including:

  • 30+ new characters from across the Dragon Ball universe (GT and Dragon Ball Super included)
  • 20+ customisation Items (costumes and super attacks)
  • 4 additional stages
    • Kami's Palace
    • Kame House
    • Bitter Tundra
    • Stratosphere
  • New game mode (described as a lite-RPG with battles/events and character levelling)

Alongside this DLC, Bandai have also promised that Sparking! Zero will receive a free update to coincide, said to be introducing “a new battle system” for fiercer and more intense fights. This new system will allow for Chain Blasts and Sparking Boosts for even flashier clashes.

While far from the most competitive of fighting games, Bandai’s Dragon Ball titles are in many ways the ultimate form of fan-service, and so it is exciting to see dozens of more characters being included alongside new ways to play.
