Apex Legends x Cyberpunk 2077 goes live next week

9 July 2026 at 11:00

More than half a decade on from the game’s release, Cyberpunk 2077 remains as popular as ever, thanks in part to a number of surprise updates alongside the huge success of Netflix’s Cyberpunk Edgerunners. Having already crossed over with other IPs, Cyberpunk 2077 is now set to join the world of Apex Legends.

Making the surprise announcement, EA / Respawn officially unveiled their Apex Legends x Cyberpunk Event. Going live on the 14th of July (and running until the 4th of August), this crossover features far more than just some collab skins, with the E-District being transformed into Night City. The event also adds in two new ‘cyberware mods’:

  • Sandevistan (allowing you to dash in any direction multiple times)
  • Blackwater breach (giving you teleport / EMP abilities)

These all tie into the mode’s cyberware capacity mechanic, in which picking up too many upgrades can cause you to “go full Cyberpsycho and become a high-speed melee monster.”

Of course, this event also brings with it a ton of cosmetics – some paid and others free-to-earn. Alongside various weapon skins, 8 different cosmetic packs are available for different Legends:

  • Axle (Lucy)
  • Sparrow (David)
  • Lifeline (V)
  • Crypto (V)
  • Rampart (Rebecca)
  • Loba (Panam)
  • Ash (Lizzy Wizzy)
  • Gibraltar (Royce)

Unlike the event itself, these cosmetics will be available to purchase up until the 18th of August. While some of these skins are seemingly better than others, Apex Legends tends to have its crossovers embrace more of a cosplay-style of look, as opposed to bringing in the character themselves.

Either way, this crossover looks to have quite a bit of work put into it. Hopefully the new LTM is fun to play.

Vampire Survivors back-track on Fortnite crossover following Epic’s GenAI controversy.

18 June 2026 at 08:00

There was once a time when crossing over with Fortnite meant that you had pretty much made it in the video games space, with some of the biggest franchises in the world collaborating with Epic Games in one form or another. While the popular indie hit Vampire Survivors was set to find its way into Fortnite, recent GenAI controversies pertaining to Epic Games now has studio Poncle “reviewing” their plans for said crossover.

During the company’s recent State of Unreal presentation, Epic Games announced a boatload of upcoming crossovers planned to be heading to Fortnite throughout the rest of 2026. Totalling over 30 different IPs, some of the games listed included Sonic Racing Crossworlds, Control Resonant; Phantom Blade 0 and Vampire Survivors.

While initially met with some excitement, this quickly dissipated as the company confirmed that they have been using generative AI to help create and design concept art for Fortnite.

Fortnite Vampire Survivors

In the wake of this, Vampire Survivors studio Poncle responded to the revelations, making a stance against the practice while re-evaluating their recently-announced collaboration – taking to the official Vampire Survivors subreddit to write: “Following today's news about gen AI usage by Epic to create all sort of game assets, including Fortnite characters, we're currently ‘reviewing’ our collaboration with Fortnite. We'll let you know if anything moves forward.”

Based on the wording, whether the collab goes through or not seems to depend on how much wiggle room there is with the contract which Poncle likely signed prior to the announcement.

We will have to wait and see, but if nothing else, it is encouraging to see some of Epic’s own partners seemingly trying to put their money where their mouths are.

KitGuru says: Are you surprised by Epic’s recent GenAI revelations? Could Epic Games reverse-course given enough of a backlash? Let us know your thoughts down below.

PowerWash Simulator 2 x Star Wars officially announced

28 April 2026 at 09:45

Like with the first game, PowerWash Simulator 2 has engaged in a number of fun and surprise crossovers. Following the release of the Adventure Time pack earlier this month, the team at FuturLab have now confirmed that the world of Star Wars is coming to PowerWash Simulator 2 later ‘this Summer’.

Making the announcement, the team at FuturLab officially unveiled the latest crossover DLC coming to PowerWash Simulator 2, writing: “Get those (water) blasters ready, we've got a job to do! STAR WARS is coming to PowerWash Simulator 2. We'll be travelling to a galaxy far, far away to take on six iconic jobs from the STAR WARS Universe.”

Arriving some time this Summer (and costing £7.99), this crossover DLC pack is set during the events of the original Star Wars trilogy in which you will “take on the role of P0-W2, a Class Five cleaning droid.“

Alongside the 6 aforementioned maps (taking you to locations such as Tatooine and Hoth), the DLC will also include new equipment for you to mess around with such as the Star Wars-themed ‘water blaster’.

The original PowerWash Simulator managed to accrue a wide variety of crossover packs throughout its lifecycle, ranging from Final Fantasy VII to SpongeBob Square Pants; Shrek; Warhammer; Back to the Future and even Wallace & Gromit.

With its sequel having already received an Adventure Time pack and soon a Star Wars one, the stars seem to be the limit for what IP could find its way into PowerWash Simulator 2.

PowerWash Simulator’s free Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy DLC will be delisted soon

14 April 2026 at 09:00

While FuturLab’s PowerWash Simulator succeeded for many reasons upon its release back in 2022, one of its more interesting elements was the collaborations made between a ton of different and unexpected IPs. Alongside paid DLC which included Shrek’s swamp, Bikini Bottom and more, PowerWash simulator also offered two free crossover packs. Three years on from their initial release however, both the Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy VII DLCs are being delisted.

Taking to their blog to make the announcement, the team at FuturLab officially confirmed that “It is the last chance to get your gloves on the free Tomb Raider and Midgar Special Packs for PowerWash Simulator. At 3PM BST on May 19th 2026, these Special Packs will no longer be available to claim across all store fronts.”

As with most digital purchases however, those who already own the packs (or add them to their library soon) will be able to freely download and play them whenever.

PowerWash Tomb Raider

It’s no coincidence that the two free crossover packs were related to Square Enix owned (or previously-owned) IPs, as the OG PowerWash Simulator was published by them. As expected however, given that its sequel was self-published, the deal between FuturLab and Square Enix has since ended, with the devs noting:

“Our team loved working on both of these beloved gaming IPs and we have been incredibly lucky to offer them until this point. This also coincides with the end of our formal relationship with Square Enix in June, who have been an incredible partner and have supported the publishing of PowerWash Simulator on PC and console.”

Given that these free DLCs are listed as separate products, it is worth adding both to your library even if you currently do not own PowerWash Simulator. There likely will never be another opportunity for you to scrub both the Croft Manor and Seventh Heaven otherwise.

Blizzard prematurely unveils Overwatch x NieR: Automata crossover, arriving next week

2 March 2026 at 12:00

For the past many years, Overwatch has been embracing all sorts of crossovers, from anime such as My Hero Academia to other video game IPs including Persona 5 and Diablo IV – to name a few. In a crossover which seemed inevitable, Square Enix’s NieR: Automata is set to collab with Overwatch; arriving next week.

Seemingly announcing the crossover prematurely, Blizzard published and then removed a YouTube Short confirming that “Project YoRHa initiates March 10!” – bringing a number of iconic characters from Automata into Overwatch through the release of new skins.

Overwatch NieR

Based on the image shared, it appears as though 5 skins in total will be offered:

  • Lifeweaver as Adam
  • Vendetta as A2
  • Wuyang as 9S
  • Kiriko as 2B
  • Mercy as the Yorha Commander

As of now, little else is known regarding the extent of this crossover. While it will most likely be nothing more than these skins, the game’s recent revamp does present an opportunity for these events to be more substantial.

We will have to wait and see when the Overwatch x NieR Automata crossover goes live on the 10th of March.
