be quiet! Light Mount TKL launches with silent switches and RGB lighting

By: Bahleem
11 August 2026 at 16:37

be quiet! has introduced two new gaming desk products, the Light Mount TKL keyboard and Mousepad XL. Both are aimed at users who want a clean setup, good build quality, and less noise while gaming or working.

The Light Mount TKL is an 80% mechanical keyboard that drops the number pad to save desk space. That extra room can be useful for wider mouse movements, especially in games.

be quiet Light Mount TKL keyboard 3

The keyboard comes with Silent V2 switches in two versions. Silent Orange offers a linear feel, while Silent Black uses a tactile design. Both are made to keep typing and gaming noise low while still providing quick key response.

be quiet! has also added three layers of sound dampening inside the keyboard. These layers sit around the PCB and bottom housing to reduce unwanted noise and vibration.

The keyboard uses PBT double shot keycaps and supports hot swapping for 5 pin MX style switches. It also has a brushed aluminium top plate, detachable USB C cable, adjustable feet, and a magnetic palm rest.

For quick controls, there is an aluminium 3D media wheel along with three extra macro or media keys. Per key ARGB lighting and illuminated side bars are included as well.

One of the more interesting additions is Quick Tap, also known as SOCD. It gives priority to the most recent input when opposite movement keys are pressed, which can help with quick direction changes in supported games.

Software gives plenty of control

be quiet!’s IO Center software lets users change lighting, remap keys, create macros, set up FN layers, and adjust Game Mode settings. Macros can contain up to 999 events.

The keyboard also has onboard memory, so many settings can stay active without the software running. Users can even adjust LED colors through the Color Calibration feature to better match other hardware.

If installing software is not an option, the web version of IO Center works through most Chrome based browsers and provides access to most of the keyboard’s features.

Mousepad XL gives gamers more desk space

The new Mousepad XL is made for users who want their keyboard and mouse to sit on one large surface. It measures 900 x 500 mm, giving plenty of space for gaming and everyday work.

be quiet Light Mount TKL keyboard 2

It uses a soft fabric top designed for smooth mouse movement and accurate tracking. Underneath, a 3 mm rubber base helps stop the pad from moving around.

The edges are stitched to reduce fraying, while the simple black design should fit easily with most gaming and office setups.

be quiet! Light Mount TKL Price and availability

The Light Mount TKL will go on sale on August 25 in Silent Orange and Silent Black versions. It will support DE ISO, FR ISO, UK ISO, and US ANSI layouts.

The keyboard will cost $139.90 / €139.90 / Β£119.90, while the Mousepad XL will be priced at $34.90 / €34.90 / Β£24.90.

For me, the Light Mount TKL looks like the more interesting launch here. It combines a compact layout with silent switches, hot swap support, RGB lighting, and useful controls without taking up too much desk space.

GTA VI Ultimate Edition Gets a Strong Start as Players Pick the $100 Version

By: Bahleem
11 August 2026 at 02:04

Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) is already showing strong demand before its launch, and the more expensive version of the game appears to be getting the most attention from early buyers.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said in a recent CNBC interview that pre-orders for the $100 Ultimate Edition are currently stronger than those for the standard $80 version. He did not share exact sales numbers, but said pre-orders are β€œskewing more to the premium edition.”

That may come as a surprise considering the amount of criticism aimed at the $100 price tag online. Many gamers have questioned whether the extra cost is worth it, especially since much of the Ultimate Edition content focuses on cosmetic items and customization features.

Zelnick believes the early numbers could be explained by the type of people ordering the game so far. The biggest GTA fans are more likely to pre-order early, and these players may also be more willing to spend extra for the premium package.

The standard edition is expected to cost $80, making GTA VI one of the major games helping push AAA game prices higher. The Ultimate Edition adds another $20 to that price, which has made it a major topic among players.

Take-Two also appears to be planning to keep GTA VI at its full price for quite some time after release. Zelnick pointed to the company’s long pricing period for GTA V, which stayed at its original price for much longer than many other entertainment products.

While retailers can technically choose to discount games, Zelnick explained that any discount would come from their own margins. Because of this, large price cuts for GTA VI may be less common during the months following launch.

For players waiting for a cheaper deal, this means GTA VI may not receive major discounts soon after release. The strong early demand could give Take-Two even less reason to reduce the price quickly.

For now, the pre-order trend is clear: despite the debate around the $100 price, the Ultimate Edition is attracting a surprising number of early buyers. Whether that strong interest continues after launch will depend on how much value players feel they are getting from the extra content.

Epomaker GX1 Offers 70 Hours of Wireless Gaming for $49.99

By: Bahleem
10 August 2026 at 16:43

Epomaker is stepping outside its usual keyboard business with the Epomaker GX1, a new gaming headset that puts wireless gaming and long battery life into a fairly affordable package. The headset is priced at $49.99 and is now available in three colors.

The GX1 uses an open-back design, which is a little different from many gaming headsets in this price range. Instead of keeping the earcups fully closed, the design allows more air and sound to pass through. This can make the audio feel wider and less boxed in, although it also means users will still hear some of their surroundings.

EPOMAKER GX1 Gaming Headset 3
EPOMAKER GX1 Gaming Headset 4
EPOMAKER GX1 Gaming Headset 5

Inside the earcups are 50mm dynamic drivers. The headset also supports virtual 7.1 surround sound, giving gamers a wider audio effect while playing compatible games and other content.

Wireless gaming is handled through a 2.4GHz USB dongle. Epomaker claims latency of around 25ms, which should keep audio delay low during gaming. The GX1 is not limited to the wireless dongle, either. It can also connect over Bluetooth or be used with a wired connection through USB-C to 3.5mm or USB-A.

One of the more interesting parts of the Epomaker GX1 is its battery. The headset has a large 2,000mAh battery, with Epomaker rating it for up to 70 hours when the RGB lighting is turned off. Turning the lights on brings the claimed runtime down to around 30 hours.

That should still be enough for several gaming sessions before needing a charge. The headset also supports using it while charging, so running out of battery does not necessarily mean the gaming session has to stop.

Epomaker has also paid attention to voice chat. The Epomaker GX1 comes with a built-in microphone as well as a detachable boom mic. The external microphone includes environmental noise cancellation to help reduce unwanted background sounds during multiplayer games and calls.

The headset weighs roughly 320 grams and uses a seven-position adjustable headband. RGB lighting is built into the earcups, giving users some room to change the look of the headset. Epomaker is selling the GX1 in Black Grey, Pink, and White.

The $49.99 price makes the Epomaker GX1 an interesting first step for Epomaker into the gaming headset market. It does not try to compete with high-end models on premium materials or advanced features, but instead focuses on the things many budget gamers actually want: wireless connectivity, a removable microphone, long battery life, RGB lighting, and multiple ways to connect.

Epomaker GX1 pricing and availability

The Epomaker GX1 is available now for $49.99 through Epomaker, Amazon, and AliExpress.

Since it is designed for outdoor use, the speaker is built to take some punishment. It carries an IP68 rating for dust and water protection and has gone through seven military-grade durability tests. So, getting caught around some dust or water should not be a major concern.

Inside, LG has used two 5.25-inch neodymium woofers and two 20mm tweeters from Danish audio company Peerless. The combination is aimed at giving users strong bass, clear highs and enough volume to fill a large outdoor space.

You can connect to the speaker over Bluetooth, while USB-C is available when you want a wired connection. LG has also added AI Sound, which can adjust the audio depending on what you are listening to. Space Calibration Pro can also tune the sound based on the speaker’s surroundings.

There are some fun extras too. Sound Field Enhance is designed to make the audio feel wider, while the dual-ring lighting can react to different music styles and moods. If one speaker is not enough, Auracast allows multiple compatible speakers to work together for larger gatherings.

LG xboom Blast 3

Carrying the speaker should also be fairly easy. LG has added a normal top handle along with a flexible rope handle, so it can be carried in different positions. The speaker can also sit either vertically or horizontally, which gives users more freedom when setting it up.

The outside is covered with fabric and has protective bumpers on the sides. LG’s outdoor-focused design has also picked up a 2026 Red Dot Design Award.

The LG xboom Blast will start rolling out in selected markets this month. More markets are expected to get it later in 2026, although pricing and availability will depend on the region.

7 August 2026 at 03:46

Microsoft has shared good news for Windows users. The company says it is working on improving Windows 11 so that it performs better on computers with 8GB of RAM. The goal is to make the operating system feel faster and more responsive, even on budget laptops and older PCs.

Today, many users feel that 16GB of RAM is the ideal amount for a smooth Windows 11 experience. While Microsoft officially supports systems with as little as 4GB of RAM, everyday tasks such as web browsing, office work, and multitasking are much more comfortable with higher memory. However, rising memory prices have made it harder for many people to upgrade their PCs.

Because of this, Microsoft is focusing on reducing the amount of memory Windows 11 uses. The company wants more users to enjoy a better experience without needing to buy extra RAM.

Microsoft wants Windows 11 to use less memory

Pavan Davuluri, who leads the Windows division at Microsoft, recently confirmed that the company is improving memory management in Windows 11. According to him, one of the main goals is to lower the operating system’s memory usage so that PCs with 8GB of RAM can still deliver a smooth and responsive experience.

Microsoft has not explained every technical detail yet, but it has already started updating some built-in Windows apps to make them use less memory. The company is also improving WinUI, the framework used to build many modern Windows applications. These changes are expected to help reduce overall RAM usage across the operating system.

Updates are expected by the end of 2026

Microsoft expects these memory improvements to arrive gradually, with more updates rolling out through the end of 2026. Some of the larger optimizations could continue into 2027 as development progresses.

The announcement comes shortly after Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella once again highlighted the company’s commitment to making Windows 11 better for users. While Nadella spoke about the company’s overall vision, Davuluri provided more details about the technical work being done behind the scenes.

If Microsoft delivers on these plans, users with 8GB RAM systems could see better performance, smoother multitasking, and a more responsive Windows 11 experience without needing an immediate hardware upgrade.

Motherboard Prices May Rise Soon as Production Costs Increase

By: Bahleem
5 August 2026 at 13:00

Motherboard prices could increase in the coming months as hardware makers face higher production costs. New reports from industry sources in China claim that several leading brands are preparing to raise motherboard prices during the third quarter of 2026.

The report mentions that ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte may be among the first companies to increase prices. However, none of these manufacturers have officially confirmed the reports, so buyers should treat the information as an early industry update.

Motherboard prices

The expected price increase will depend on the type of motherboard. Entry-level and mid-range models could become around 10% to 20% more expensive. Premium motherboards with advanced features may see much bigger price increases, with some reports suggesting prices could rise by as much as 40% to 50%.

High-end motherboards cost more to build because they use advanced parts and complex designs. Features such as PCIe 5.0 support, USB4, Wi-Fi 7, powerful VRMs, multi-layer PCBs, and several M.2 heatsinks all add to manufacturing costs.

The reported price increase is linked to rising costs for printed circuit boards, copper, memory chips, controllers, and other important components. Manufacturing expenses have also continued to climb, putting extra pressure on hardware companies.

If these reports turn out to be accurate, building or upgrading a PC could become more expensive. Prices for processors, graphics cards, DDR memory, and NAND flash storage have already increased in recent months. Higher motherboard prices would add another cost for gamers and PC enthusiasts planning new systems.

The higher prices could also affect buyers looking at modern platforms such as AMD AM5 and Intel LGA1851. Some users may decide to keep their current PC for longer, choose a more affordable chipset, or spend more of their budget on a better graphics card or additional memory instead.

For now, motherboard makers have not announced any official pricing changes. More details are expected to become available over the next few weeks as manufacturers and retailers respond to changing production costs.

Akko celebrates its 10th anniversary with the launch of several new products for the European market. The company is also preparing to display its latest desktop accessories during IFA 2026 in Berlin this September.

Over the past decade, Akko has grown from a keyboard brand into a company offering a wider range of desktop products. Its goal has always been to create peripherals that combine performance, comfort, and personal style for work, gaming, and everyday use.

As part of the anniversary celebration, Akko has introduced the new 5075 and 5108 ISO keyboards. Both models are made for European users and are available with either traditional mechanical switches or the latest V5 magnetic switches. They also feature localized keycaps for German, French, Spanish, and several other European layouts, making them easier to use in different regions.

The mechanical versions include a slotted PCB, a flexible PC plate, and five layers of sound-dampening materials. These features help reduce typing noise while giving the keyboard a softer and more comfortable feel. The keyboards also come with durable MOA-profile dye-sublimated keycaps and an 8,000mAh battery for long wireless use.

For gamers, the V5 Hall Effect models focus on speed and accuracy. They support 0.001mm Rapid Trigger technology and 8K polling in both wired and 2.4GHz wireless modes, allowing quicker input during fast gameplay. Akko has also used a gasket mount with an aluminum plate to improve key stability while keeping the typing experience comfortable. These models feature dual-position RGB lighting and a larger 10,000mAh battery that can provide up to 32 hours of wireless gaming with RGB lighting at maximum brightness.

Akko is also bringing two more products to Europe. The Echo TAN8 wireless gaming mouse and the VERGE S9 Master gaming headset are designed to complete the company’s desktop lineup for work, gaming, and entertainment.

Visitors will be able to see all of these new products at IFA 2026, which takes place in Berlin this September. Akko will exhibit in Hall 7.2b, Booth 110, where it plans to demonstrate its latest innovations.

The company says its anniversary theme, β€œBeyond Boundaries,” reflects its focus on creating better technology, improving product design, and giving users more ways to personalize their desktop setup. With these new launches, Akko continues to expand its presence in Europe while offering more choices for both professionals and gamers.

ROG USB C10G Brings Fast 10Gb Ethernet to More PCs and Laptops

4 August 2026 at 07:58

ASUS ROG has introduced the ROG USB C10G, a compact adapter that makes it easy to add 10Gb Ethernet to desktops, mini PCs, and laptops. It is a simple solution for users who want faster wired internet without installing an internal network card.

The ROG USB C10G measures 85 x 32 x 19 mm and weighs just 38 grams, making it easy to carry anywhere. Instead of using a fixed cable, ASUS has equipped the adapter with a USB Type-C port. The box includes a short USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-A adapter, allowing it to work with different devices.

ASUS ROG USB C10G 2

To reach its full 10Gb Ethernet speed, the ROG USB C10G requires a USB 3.2 Gen 2Γ—2 (20Gbps) connection. Systems with only USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) ports may see lower transfer speeds, with real-world performance expected to be around 6Gbps to 8Gbps.

ASUS ROG USB C10G 1

This hardware requirement also means the ROG USB C10G is not expected to deliver full performance on current Apple Mac computers, as they do not support USB 3.2 Gen 2Γ—2. Using the included USB-A adapter may also reduce network speeds because of bandwidth limitations.

Although ASUS has not officially confirmed the networking controller, the adapter is believed to use the Realtek RTL8159 chipset, which is already found in several other high-speed USB Ethernet adapters.

ASUS has not announced an official price for the ROG USB C10G. However, the product has already appeared at a Norwegian retailer for about US$139, including local taxes. This suggests the adapter could launch in other markets for around US$100 to US$120 before taxes.

The ROG USB C10G is a practical choice for users who need faster wired networking on a laptop or desktop without upgrading internal hardware. Its compact size, removable cable, and support for 10Gb Ethernet make it a useful accessory for high-speed home and office networks.

4 August 2026 at 03:04

Pwnage has officially introduced the new Pwnage Vanta gaming mouse, bringing a fresh idea to the gaming mouse market. The lightweight wireless mouse lets users adjust the click feel of its buttons, giving gamers more control over how the mouse responds during gameplay.

Unlike most gaming mice, where the click feeling stays the same forever, the Vanta allows users to make physical adjustments using a small screwdriver included in the box. This means players can choose lighter or firmer mouse clicks based on their gaming style or personal preference.

The adjustment system changes several parts of the click experience, including click force, resistance, actuation feel, break point, and how the button returns after each click. This gives users the freedom to fine-tune the mouse without changing switches.

The Pwnage Vanta features a symmetrical shape that fits many grip styles. It measures 120 x 60 x 39 mm and uses a strong magnesium alloy shell. Thanks to this design, the mouse weighs only 49 grams, making it a great choice for players who prefer lightweight gaming gear.

Microsoft has announced a major update to Xbox console prices across Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The new prices became effective on August 1 and apply to every Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X model currently available.

The biggest change can be seen in Europe, where the Xbox Series S 512 GB now costs €499.99 instead of €349.99. This is one of the largest price increases for the Xbox lineup in recent years. The Xbox Series S 1 TB model has also increased from €399.99 to €599.99.

Xbox Series X models are also more expensive. The 1 TB Digital Edition now has a price of €749.99, while the standard 1 TB version with a disc drive now costs €799.99.

The United Kingdom has also received higher Xbox console prices. The Xbox Series S 512 GB now sells for Β£429.99, compared to its previous price of Β£299.99. Reports suggest that rising GDDR6 memory costs are one of the main reasons behind the increase in Xbox console prices. The higher cost of memory has made console production more expensive, leading Microsoft to adjust prices in several regions.
