Battlefield 6 PC Performance Benchmarks: Wreck Havoc & Break Stuff With Solid Performance On All GPUs 1

Battlefield 6 is now available to all PC gamers, and we are here to showcase the performance on offer with current-gen GPUs. Battlefield 6 Looks Amazing & Runs Great With A Wide Option List For PC Gamers, Here's The Performance Across Current-Gen GPUs Battlefield as a series is dear to my heart as a PC gamer. I am a fan of almost all installations within the series, such as Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Battlefield BC2, Battlefield 3, and Battlefield 4. While WW wasn't my particular taste, I have played BF1 too and found it to be a visual icon that […]

Battlefield 6 Servers Immediately Hit Capacity At Launch, Steam Charts Soar to 747K Players

10 October 2025 at 18:32

Battlefield 6 cover art featuring soldiers overlooking a city with explosions and helicopters.

Battlefield 6 is finally live and available around the globe, and it's clear that players were looking forward to it. Not just because the beta saw hundreds of thousands of players on Steam alone (and likely millions when adding consoles to the mix), do nothing but play Battlefield 6 during the beta period, but because when it launched today, servers immediately hit capacity. Players were immediately shuffled into a queue system, though thankfully, we've not seen reports of players having to wait a lengthy amount of time to jump in, and the concurrent player count on Steam soared beyond the […]

Battlefield 6 Guide – Best Early Weapons and Loadouts for Each Class

10 October 2025 at 17:36

Four soldiers in tactical gear stand in a hangar next to on-screen text that says, CLASS LOADOUTS and CLASS BADGE.

Battlefield 6 is finally here, and to help you put your best foot forward when jumping into multiplayer matches, I've put together a guide for the best weapons and loadouts for each of its classic four classes. Of course, not every weapon and variant in this guide will be available to you the moment you load up the game; you'll have to grind some levels for them, but they still work well as loadouts to work towards well before you reach the level cap. Also, since this guide is meant to focus on early loadouts, when it comes to secondary […]

Battlefield 6 Review – Battlefield Is (Mostly) Back

9 October 2025 at 15:00

Battlefield 6 cover art featuring soldiers overlooking a city with explosions and helicopters.

Battlefield 6 has a lot on its shoulders. EA put the effort of four studios together under the Battlefield Studios banner (Motive, Criterion, Ripple Effect, and DICE) to try and get a win for the series after the overall loss that was Battlefield 2042. As of last week, it has to try to get people to forget that, in a year's time, EA will likely be a very different company under its new ownership, despite what chief executive officer Andrew Wilson might claim. It also has to try to compete with an annual franchise that makes up for nearly half […]

The global launch times are up, and the estimated 1.7 million players bought in for October 10 will be boots on the ground by the end of the week. So naturally, it's time for Battlefield Studios and EA to talk about what's next for Battlefield 6 on October 11, and every day after that. In the latest Community Update blog post on the Battlefield website, Battlefield Studios laid out a few data points regarding what it has noticed over […]

Analysts expect Battlefield 6 to sell 5 million copies in first week

3 October 2025 at 08:30

For the first time in many years it feels as though Battlefield might truly be back, with the upcoming BF6 seeing tons of excitement only amplified by the recent open beta. With just under a week to go, analysts have started to weigh in on Battlefield 6’s launch potential – believing the game could sell over 5 million copies in its first week.

As reported by Christopher Dring via The Game Business, analysts have put their chips down with regards to just how successful Battlefield 6’s launch will be; with Ampere in particular estimating that the game could sell “five million units in its first week.”

Battlefield Million

Of course, this is merely an educated estimate on their part, and so the true figure won’t be known until the game is out and EA announces it themselves.

That said, with the BF6 Beta said to have amassed between 22-25 million players, and Ampere estimating that the game is currently sitting at 1.7 million pre-orders on PC alone, it is safe to say that Battlefield 6 is set to have a massive launch.

Battlefield 6 Reportedly Has an Estimated 1.7 Million Pre-Orders, Expected to Sell 5M In First Week

Four soldiers in tactical gear with rifles move through a dense forest environment.

At the time of this writing, we are one week and a day away from Battlefield 6 launching on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 platforms. We've known it would be a major release for the series, potentially even its biggest release, since its multiplayer beta absolutely blew up earlier this year, and now a new report shows just how big it'll be, and how big it's projected to be. A new report from The Game Business reveals a couple of new statistics from data firm Ampere Analysis. According to Ampere, Battlefield 6 already has 1.7 million copies pre-ordered […]

Battlefield 6 Season 1 content roadmap revealed

30 September 2025 at 15:00

Battlefield 6 is set to launch on October 10, 2025, with its first major free content update, Season 1, arriving on October 28 across all platforms. The season will unfold in three phases, each introducing new maps, modes, weapons, vehicles, and features designed to expand the multiplayer experience while also enriching the Portal Builder Tool for custom maps and game modes.

Season 1 begins with Rogue Ops on October 28, centered on the new Blackwell Fields map, a desert oil field turned battlefield where Pax Armata agents strike NATO targets. This phase introduces the Strikepoint mode, a tense 4v4 tactical contest with single-life rounds, alongside the APC Traverser Mark 2 vehicle, three new weapons including the SOR-300C carbine, Mini Fix sniper rifle, and GGH-22 sidearm, plus fresh attachments like the Rail Cover and LPVO optic.

On November 18, the California Resistance phase expands the conflict to Eastwood, a suburban map disrupted by sleeper agent uprisings. This update adds the Sabotage mode, an 8v8 objective-based battle where teams alternate between offense and defense to destroy sites. Returning to the franchise is the Battle Pickups feature, offering powerful but limited weapons scattered across the map. Players will also gain access to the DB-12 dual-barrel shotgun, the M327 Trait revolver, and the Troy Angled grip attachment.

The season concludes on December 9 with Winter Offensive, plunging the Empire State into a frozen warzone. A limited-time update transforms Brooklyn into an icy battlefield, accompanied by the Ice Lock event, which introduces the Freeze mechanic as a gameplay modifier. A new melee weapon, the Ice Climbing Axe, joins the arsenal, offering both combat and environmental utility.

Beyond the seasonal roadmap, players can prepare for launch with pre-order bonuses. The Tombstone Pack, available with both Standard and Phantom Editions, includes exclusive skins and XP boosts. The Phantom Edition further offers the Phantom Squad skins, weapon packages, a Chimera vehicle, and the BF Pro Token, with EA Play Pro subscribers on PC gaining access at launch.

Battlefield 6 single-player campaign revealed in new trailer

25 September 2025 at 14:45

We've known for a while now that Battlefield 6 will feature a proper single-player campaign, something that has been missing ever since Battlefield Hardline. However, EA has been quiet on the subject, focusing much of its recent marketing around the multiplayer side of the game. That changed last night with the campaign reveal trailer.

Battlefield 6 will have a full single-player campaign, not just a small set of standalone missions like we saw in Battlefield V. The story is set in the year 2027, so the very near future. In this timeline, the world is on the edge of chaos, with the NATO alliance crumbling and financial instability and political disputes sending the world into turmoil. At this time, a private military organisation, Pax Armata, looks to seize power.

The campaign will take place across multiple missions, with players taking on the role of Dagger 13, a squad of elite US marines fighting back against Pax Armata. The campaign will take us to locations all around the world, including the streets of Brooklyn all the way to Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

Battlefield 6 officially launches on October 10th for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S with the complete campaign and multiplayer.

Battlefield 6 devs working with Sony and Microsoft to block Cronus Zen cheaters

22 September 2025 at 12:00

While PC is often seen as the wild west of online gaming, cheaters using hardware devices like the Cronus Zen have become an increasing plague on the console ecosystem. Now, it appears that the developers of Battlefield 6 are taking the issue seriously, outlining their plans to directly tackle cheaters on PlayStation and Xbox.

In a recent interview with PushSquare, Christian Buhl, Technical Director at Battlefield Studios, addressed the issue directly. He revealed that the studio is taking a proper approach to combating these devices. Firstly, they are teaming up with both Sony and Microsoft on platform-level detection. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, they have built their own in-house macro detection tools to identify players using the automated scripts that these devices enable.

Buhl went on to say that the team is “treating cheating very, very seriously” and wants to “keep as much of the fair play and competitive integrity that [they] can”. This is a welcome announcement for console players, who have felt increasingly powerless against the rise of hardware-based cheats that grant players unfair advantages, such as reduced recoil and enhanced aim-assist capabilities. These measures should also help out on the PC side, as Battlefield 6 has crossplay between console and PC.

While the effectiveness of these new measures will only be proven once the game launches, it is a very positive sign that the developers are publicly acknowledging the problem and building their own technology to solve it.

Xbox Series S optimisations made Battlefield 6 “better and more stable” across all platforms

16 September 2025 at 08:30

The Xbox Series S has been a bit of a weird system, with the console offering a cheaper way to get into the current generation of gaming – albeit with plenty of compromises depending on the title in question. That said, while some developers have bemoaned the existence of the Series S, Battlefield developers at DICE have claimed that working with the console has made the upcoming Battlefield 6 “better and more stable” across all platforms.

In an interview conducted by the publication Kotaku, Battlefield 6’s technical director Christian Buhl spoke on the development of the upcoming shooter and how the lower-specced Series S factored into the equation, claiming:

“Xbox Series S does have less memory than even our mid-spec PC. And so there was a point…Oh, I want to say, like, 6 to 12 months ago where we kind of realized that a lot of our levels were crashing on Xbox Series S.”

Xbox Series S Battlefield

This ultimately seemed to have been to the benefit of the game however, with Buhl adding “We were doing so much testing…we were collecting all this data. Once we kind of started running all our levels through it, and were able to see where the problems were, after a month or two, we had kind of resolved all of our memory issues on Series S.”

As a result, Battlefield 6 is said to now be “better and more stable” across all platforms, not just the Series S, thanks to the optimisations made – describing the upcoming title as “super solid” and “performant.”

The full interview can be found HERE and includes discussions surrounding the possibility of Battlefield 6 coming to Nintendo Switch 2.

All that said, it is encouraging to see that in this instance, the existence of the Series S should make for a more improved experience across the board. It will be interesting to see exactly how the game runs on Series S across more scenarios when Battlefield 6 launches in a little under a month’s time.

EA reveals Battle Royale details ahead of next Battlefield 6 playtest

11 September 2025 at 13:30

Battlefield 6 is due out in less than a month, but EA is still hard at work testing big parts of the game. In a recent playtest, the game's custom Portal mode and server browser were put to the test. Now this month, EA is looking to put the finishing touches on the Battle Royale mode.

Battle Royale returns in Battlefield 6, promising the “deadliest ring in BR”. While many Battle Royale games give players a certain level of survivability outside of the main zone, giving them an opportunity to catch up and stay in the game. In Battlefield 6, Battle Royale is designed around removing these mechanics, creating a situation where if you get caught out, it is game over.

Battle Royale matches in Battlefield 6 will have extra objectives for players to complete as they look to gear up and obtain the best chance of surviving the final rounds. In its announcement post, DICE detailed some of the key elements to the Battle Royale experience in Battlefield 6:

  • Map: Battlefield is no stranger to epic maps, and this all-new map has been built for the Battle Royale experience. It features a diverse array of tactical Points of Interest, each with distinct layouts and themes that offer unique gameplay opportunities.
  • Vehicles: Players can find common transport vehicles around the map and even unlock powerful armored vehicles to turn the tide of battle. The intent is to offer more ways for players to traverse the map early on in a match and to create interesting combined arms action in the process.
  • Tactical Destruction: Destruction will be everywhere in this mode. From creating pathways through walls to toppling buildings, we look forward to seeing players’ ingenuity with destruction and how they use it to defeat their opponents.
  • Squadplay: For this test, each match will feature 100 players, organized into 25 four player squads, fighting to be the last one standing. Communicating with your squad through pings, text, or VOIP aims to boost the experience and enhance their tactical options.
  • Second chances: Between the Support class revives and Mobile Redeploy options, there are multiple tools to keep your squad in the fight.

If you have already signed up for Battlefield Labs, you should get an email with further details about the timing of the Battle Royale play test. The final game will launch on October 10th for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

Battlefield 6 open beta set new records

22 August 2025 at 15:00

The Battlefield 6 open beta was a huge success across both of its weekends. DICE has had a week now to collect all of the stats and as predicted, this beta set new records for the franchise.

The Battlefield 6 open beta set a record high player count across all platforms, and beyond that, the open beta also set viewership records, with over 30 million hours streamed.

Over the two beta weekends, over 420 million matches were played, making up over 92 million hours' worth of gameplay. The change to traditional classes has also gone down well, with a very close to even split amongst all four. According to DICE, 32% of players went with Assault, 26% went with Support, 23% went with Engineer and 19% went with Recon.

Ahead of the launch on October 10th, DICE will now be making targeted adjustments to movement, weapons and maps to address player feedback.

BF2042 gets surprise final update alongside free ‘Road to Battlefield’ Battle Pass

19 August 2025 at 12:00

While fans eagerly await the full release of Battlefield 6, EA / DICE appears to have one final surprise update in store for those still playing the ill-fated Battlefield 2042. Available right now, update 9.2 brings with it a solid amount of new content, including a free battle pass with 60 different rewards – 30 of which can be claimed in Battlefield 6.

Making the surprise announcement on their blog, the Battlefield team unveiled update 9.2 for Battlefield 2042. Alongside the typical “bug fixes and gameplay changes,” this update adds two more weapons to your loadout (the KFS2000 Assault Rifle and Lynx Sniper Rifle); two additional vehicles to pilot and the return of the “fan favourite” map Iwo Jima.

While a welcome addition to this soon-to-be-obsolete game, those looking forward to Battlefield 6 on the 10th of October have plenty to be excited about with this update thanks to the new, free 60-tier battle pass.

Pass 2042

Running from now until the 7th of October, this ‘Road to Battlefield’ battle pass includes 60 tiers in total to unlock – 30 of which will include rewards directly for BF6 upon the game’s launch. In addition, a large majority of the rewards are ‘inspired’ by past Battlefield games, giving you a tinge of nostalgia alongside the rewards themselves.

While Battlefield 2042 never managed to fully recover from its launch woes, now is as good a time as any to try out the game in its ‘complete’ state ahead of Battlefield 6 – all the while earning a bunch of rewards.

KitGuru says: Will you be hopping into Battlefield 2042 one final time? Did the game ever manage to redeem itself in your eyes? Let us know down below.

EA reportedly wants to release a new Battlefield entry annually

18 August 2025 at 10:00

The Battlefield franchise is currently in the best spot it’s been in years, with fans of the franchise – both old and new – hotly anticipating the upcoming BF6. Though it seems the series might finally be ‘back’, EA looks to be counting its chickens before they hatch; with insiders claiming that the publisher hopes to go the Call of Duty route with annual entries.

As reported by analyst Michael Patcher via the ‘Patcher Factor’ show on YouTube, Electronic Arts is seemingly taking inspiration from Microsoft/Activision and Call of Duty in wanting to turn Battlefield into an annual franchise from a rotating set of studios.

As stated by patcher: “I talked to EA, Byron Beede, good dude, former Activision guy who worked at Infinity Ward with Vince. And he's running the Battlefield franchise. And their goal is three studios making Battlefield on a three year basis. So they can get to Battlefield annually.”

Battlefield EA

Fortunately or unfortunately, this seems to be more of a medium-term plan, with Patcher claiming “[Byron Beede] said it's going to take 5 or 6 years before they can get 2 in a row, so we're not going to get there for a while. But that's their plan.”

Currently for BF6, the game is being worked on by ‘Battlefield Studios’ – a partnership between EA’s Criterion; Ripple Effect; Motive and DICE studios. Whether this set-up would change much moving forward we will have to wait and see.

That said, given how Call of Duty is barely able to get annual titles working with over a dozen different studios, it seems like EA is showing its hand a bit too prematurely.

KitGuru says: What do you think of this plan? Will it backfire? Does Battlefield Studios have the dev-power to launch new entries annually? Let us know down below.
