After a long wait, Battlefield 6 is finally here, and it's also an excellent return to form for the series after a disappointing release in Battlefield 2042. If you're one of the hundreds of thousands of players on Steam (and potentially millions with consoles mixed in) jumping into it on launch, then this guide will help you step onto the battlefield with confidence. While our guide on the best early loadouts delved into what weapons you'll want to jump in with and focus on unlocking as soon as possible, this guide will go over more general tips and ways of [β¦]
Battlefield 6 is finally live and available around the globe, and it's clear that players were looking forward to it. Not just because the beta saw hundreds of thousands of players on Steam alone (and likely millions when adding consoles to the mix), do nothing but play Battlefield 6 during the beta period, but because when it launched today, servers immediately hit capacity. Players were immediately shuffled into a queue system, though thankfully, we've not seen reports of players having to wait a lengthy amount of time to jump in, and the concurrent player count on Steam soared beyond the [β¦]
Battlefield 6 is finally here, and to help you put your best foot forward when jumping into multiplayer matches, I've put together a guide for the best weapons and loadouts for each of its classic four classes. Of course, not every weapon and variant in this guide will be available to you the moment you load up the game; you'll have to grind some levels for them, but they still work well as loadouts to work towards well before you reach the level cap. Also, since this guide is meant to focus on early loadouts, when it comes to secondary [β¦]
Battlefield 6 has a lot on its shoulders. EA put the effort of four studios together under the Battlefield Studios banner (Motive, Criterion, Ripple Effect, and DICE) to try and get a win for the series after the overall loss that was Battlefield 2042. As of last week, it has to try to get people to forget that, in a year's time, EA will likely be a very different company under its new ownership, despite what chief executive officer Andrew Wilson might claim. It also has to try to compete with an annual franchise that makes up for nearly half [β¦]
At the time of this writing, Battlefield 6 is days away from launching on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S worldwide. The global launch times are up, and the estimated 1.7 million players bought in for October 10 will be boots on the ground by the end of the week. So naturally, it's time for Battlefield Studios and EA to talk about what's next for Battlefield 6 on October 11, and every day after that. In the latest Community Update blog post on the Battlefield website, Battlefield Studios laid out a few data points regarding what it has noticed over [β¦]
At the time of this writing, we are one week and a day away from Battlefield 6 launching on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 platforms. We've known it would be a major release for the series, potentially even its biggest release, since its multiplayer beta absolutely blew up earlier this year, and now a new report shows just how big it'll be, and how big it's projected to be. A new report from The Game Business reveals a couple of new statistics from data firm Ampere Analysis. According to Ampere, Battlefield 6 already has 1.7 million copies pre-ordered [β¦]
Even though the Battlefield 6 open beta is over, you can still get the chance to play it again ahead of its launch on October 10, 2025. Alongside a new trailer for the PC version of Battlefield 6 that debuted today, EA and Battlefield Studios also resumed sign-ups for its Battlefield Labs playtesting program, where new maps, gameplay modes, and adjustments from the beta will be tested ahead of launch. The trailer is a feature highlight reel of the experience PC players will be able to have, so long as they have the hardware for it, of course. With ultrawide [β¦]
Now that we're a few days removed from the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, EA and its Battlefield Studios have had a chance to look at the results, which, based on the player counts we saw during the beta, are unsurprisingly staggering. According to EA, the beta for Battlefield 6 drew in the most players for a beta in the series' history, with 420,127,450 matches played across 92,351,578 hours of gameplay. The beta also contained more content than any previous beta in the series' history, with multiple modes across four maps available for players to check out. 32% of all players [β¦]
The Battlefield franchise is currently in the best spot itβs been in years, with fans of the franchise β both old and new β hotly anticipating the upcoming BF6. Though it seems the series might finally be βbackβ, EA looks to be counting its chickens before they hatch; with insiders claiming that the publisher hopes to go the Call of Duty route with annual entries.
As reported by analyst Michael Patcher via the βPatcher Factorβ show on YouTube, Electronic Arts is seemingly taking inspiration from Microsoft/Activision and Call of Duty in wanting to turn Battlefield into an annual franchise from a rotating set of studios.
As stated by patcher: βI talked to EA, Byron Beede, good dude, former Activision guy who worked at Infinity Ward with Vince. And he's running the Battlefield franchise. And their goal is three studios making Battlefield on a three year basis. So they can get to Battlefield annually.β
Fortunately or unfortunately, this seems to be more of a medium-term plan, with Patcher claiming β[Byron Beede] said it's going to take 5 or 6 years before they can get 2 in a row, so we're not going to get there for a while. But that's their plan.β
Currently for BF6, the game is being worked on by βBattlefield Studiosβ β a partnership between EAβs Criterion; Ripple Effect; Motive and DICE studios. Whether this set-up would change much moving forward we will have to wait and see.
That said, given how Call of Duty is barely able to get annual titles working with over a dozen different studios, it seems like EA is showing its hand a bit too prematurely.
KitGuru says: What do you think of this plan? Will it backfire? Does Battlefield Studios have the dev-power to launch new entries annually? Let us know down below.
It's only the second week of its open beta, but Battlefield 6 is already looking like it'll be the game to take over 2025 with how strong its player numbers are on Steam alone. The second week of the beta has already surpassed 400K concurrent players on Steam, and now analyst Rhys Elliot of Alinea Analytics is predicting that the game will hit 1 million pre-orders on Steam, after having already hit over 600K. On X (formerly Twitter), Elliot shared a few key data points from Alinea Analytics' tracking of Battlefield 6, like how the firm is claiming that the [β¦]
The Battlefield 6 Open Beta is currently playable on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC right now until August 17. But PC players in particular learned that they might have to jump through more hoops than those on consoles. If you've been unable to launch the beta due to an error message telling you that 'Secure Boot' needs to be enabled, this guide will show you how to do that so you can get into the action on your PC in no-time. Battlefield 6 Beta - How To Enable Secure Boot What is Secure Boot? To put it simply, Secure [β¦]
If you're experiencing matchmaking issues with the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, you're not alone, as several players have reported being unable to get into matches as week two of the open beta kicked off today. EA is aware of the problem, and is working to solve it, though a fix has yet to be released. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) from the official Battlefield Comms account, EA told players that "The team is aware of ongoing matchmaking issues for some of our players when attempting to matchmake on playlists. We're actively investigating this and working towards a solve [β¦]
Battlefield 6 is currently available for players to try in an early access, semi-closed beta form, which is only semi-closed because technically anyone could have acquired a code through specific channels, but only those with a code can jump into the beta today and tomorrow before it opens to the rest of the non-code-having public on August 9-10 and then again next weekend from August 14-17. And even in that confusing, not entirely closed, yet not entirely open form, hundreds of thousands of players have jumped through every necessary hoop to play Battlefield 6 as soon as possible, with today's [β¦]
EA is kicking off its first public beta for Battlefield 6 tomorrow, and even though the first two days of this weekend's beta is only open to players who were able to grab a code through Twitch or sent out to players that previously signed up to participate in Battlefield Labs, servers for the beta are already starting to fill up, as tens of thousands of players are queued up for the beta ahead of launch. Spotted by VGC, players on Reddit are sharing that the servers have already been maxed out, and there are thousands more waiting in the [β¦]

A short video clip from the single-player campaign for the next mainline entry in the Battlefield series has been pulled from the files of the latest Battlefield Labs update, with dataminer Temporyal discovering and posting the clip to X. The footage is clearly still a work-in-progress which Temporyal points out, and they also clarify that this is not a clip of gameplay from a playtest or the Battlefield Labs test like we've seen with other leaks, but just a video file, which also explains why the footage lacks the watermarks that usually accompany your screen if you've ever participated in [β¦]
EA has announced that throughout May, more players will be invited to its Battlefield Labs playtesting, and will begin to invite players from select regions of Asia, now that the Battlefield teams have "wrapped up our initial server performance and stability concerns." The development update recapped what the playtest has accomplished so far, which, according to EA, includes "Establishing a solid foundation for smooth, low-latency and high-performance gunplay. Finding the right balance in movement speed for functionality such as crouch sprint, combat rolling, and vaulting as part of our combat pacing initiatives. Using destruction to create fun and lasting tactical [β¦]
