Battlefield 6 is adding its biggest map yet with Season 3

12 May 2026 at 16:00

The big Season 3 update for Battlefield 6 has dropped today. In phase one of the new season, fans will get access to two classic maps reimagined for Battlefield 6, alongside a new Ranked game mode to try out.

One of the new maps joining Battlefield 6 is actually the largest map in the series' history, as DICE looks to make up for the lack of new large-scale maps for the game since launch. The map is called Railway to Golmud, a reimagining of the Golmud Railway map from Battlefield 4, including the fully operational moving train, so watch out when near the tracks.

This update also sees the debut of Ranked Play. Launching in Battle Royale Quads in REDSEC, this is the introduction of Battlefield's new competitive framework. Ranked Seasons will feature a tiered ranking system from Rookie to Master, with a unique emblem for the top 250 players globally. Players earn Ranked Points through confirmed kills and assists, and final placement, with rewards such as player cards and titles to show off their prowess on the battlefield.

In June, Phase 2 will begin, bringing another reimagined map, a rework of Battlefield 3's Grand Bazaar. Other highlights from season 3 include a new Handheld Jammer gadget, and a brand-new Battle Pass.

Battlefield 6 Season 3 Lands Next Week With Two Revamped and Beloved Maps From Past Games Entering the Fray

5 May 2026 at 16:13

The promotional image for 'Battlefield 6 Season 3' depicts soldiers in combat gear against a mountainous warzone backdrop, with the text 'Battlefield 6 Redsec Season 3' prominently displayed.

After Season 2 of the best-selling game in 2025 was delayed, causing a great deal of strife within the game's community, EA and Battlefield Studios aren't allowing for the same gap between Season 2 and Season 3 of Battlefield 6. The new season will arrive next week on May 12, 2026, and the studios just debuted our first look at the new season and a tease at what will be the largest map in the game when it arrives with the return of the Railway to Golmud. Season 2 arrived back on February 17, making it a more reasonable 12-week […]

BF Studios share full 2026 Roadmap for Battlefield 6, including persistent servers

17 April 2026 at 10:15

After what was a record-breaking launch, EA’s Battlefield 6 has failed to maintain its momentum, with the game’s post-launch support unable to match the expectations set by other live-service experiences. That said, EA and DICE are still committed to the project, with the team now teasing their full 2026 roadmap.

Taking to YouTube to release a 6-minute dev talk (also detailed via their blog), the team at Battlefield Studios offered an early taste at everything fans can expect to look forward to throughout the rest of 2026.

While the live-service FPS has been off to a bit of a slow start with its first two post-launch Seasons, the rest of the year should hopefully be more feature-rich with 3 more Seasons in total scheduled for 2026.

Though we of course have not been given a full breakdown of everything to expect, Season 3 of Battlefield 6 is set to introduce:

  • Railway to Golmud map
  • Cairo Bazaar map
  • Ranked PlayΒ
  • Battle Royale solos

Season 4 meanwhile will add:

  • Tsuru Reef map
  • Wake Island map
  • Aircraft carriers with operational flight decks
  • New naval vehicles
  • Dynamic wave system
  • Custom lobbies
  • Spectator mode

2026 will conclude with the arrival of Season 5, though details on what to expect remain light; with the team simply sharing a teaser image for what appears to be a flamethrower of sorts.

Outside of new content, 2026 will also introduce many different quality-of-life improvements, including:

  • A server browser with persistent servers
  • Multiplayer leaderboards
  • Platoons
  • Proximity Chat
  • Visibility enhancements
  • Progression changes
  • Map reworks

In the past few months sentiment surrounding Battlefield 6 has taken a drastic fall, and so while many of these additions likely should have been available since its initial launch, it is welcome nonetheless to see that BF Studios are trying to turn the game into what was originally promised/expected.

KitGuru says: What do you think of the roadmap? Is this enough to get you to come back? Which feature are you most looking forward to? Let us know down below.

Battlefield 6 Season 2 Nightfall Update Now Live, Adds New Map, LTM, Weapons, Vehicle and REDSEC Updates

17 March 2026 at 16:23

Two soldiers in tactical gear navigate a dark corridor with assault rifles in an action scene from the video game Battlefield 6.

EA and Battlefield Studios have released the latest update for Season 2 of Battlefield 6 titled Nightfall, which adds the other new map promised in this season, Hagental Base. It also adds two new weapons, a motorcycle as the latest vehicle added to the game, and most importantly, a new limited-time mode also called Nightfall, where players battle it out in dark corridors with night vision goggles handy. While the first new map of Season 2, Contaminated, was something closer to maps like Mirak Valley, Hagental Base is a different because its core experience revolves around its tight corridors, especially […]

β€œWe’ve Heard the Message Very Clear”: DICE is Focusing on Larger Battlefield 6 Maps, but Don’t Expect Them in Season 2

20 February 2026 at 14:38

A scene from Battlefield 6 depicting soldiers in tactical gear moving through a forested area with a tank in the background.

Season 2 for Battlefield 6 finally arrived earlier this week after an unexpected one-month delay. While we can hopefully trust the Battlefield Studios teams when they say the length between Season 1 and Season 2 was an isolated case, the new content in Season 2 hasn't exactly set the game's community on fire, and players still have several issues with the new content. Outside of complaints about the new VL-7 gas (which a scroll through the r/Battlefield page will show you players are either very positive on or very against), one thing that Battlefield 6 players agree on is that […]
