Battlefield 6 Guide – Tips to Rule the Battlefield

11 October 2025 at 16:39

Unbranded military tank in a battlefield scene with soldiers and explosions.

After a long wait, Battlefield 6 is finally here, and it's also an excellent return to form for the series after a disappointing release in Battlefield 2042. If you're one of the hundreds of thousands of players on Steam (and potentially millions with consoles mixed in) jumping into it on launch, then this guide will help you step onto the battlefield with confidence. While our guide on the best early loadouts delved into what weapons you'll want to jump in with and focus on unlocking as soon as possible, this guide will go over more general tips and ways of […]

Battlefield 6 Servers Immediately Hit Capacity At Launch, Steam Charts Soar to 747K Players

10 October 2025 at 18:32

Battlefield 6 is finally live and available around the globe, and it's clear that players were looking forward to it. Not just because the beta saw hundreds of thousands of players on Steam alone (and likely millions when adding consoles to the mix), do nothing but play Battlefield 6 during the beta period, but because when it launched today, servers immediately hit capacity. Players were immediately shuffled into a queue system, though thankfully, we've not seen reports of players having to wait a lengthy amount of time to jump in, and the concurrent player count on Steam soared beyond the […]

Battlefield 6 Guide – Best Early Weapons and Loadouts for Each Class

10 October 2025 at 17:36

Four soldiers in tactical gear stand in a hangar next to on-screen text that says, CLASS LOADOUTS and CLASS BADGE.

Battlefield 6 is finally here, and to help you put your best foot forward when jumping into multiplayer matches, I've put together a guide for the best weapons and loadouts for each of its classic four classes. Of course, not every weapon and variant in this guide will be available to you the moment you load up the game; you'll have to grind some levels for them, but they still work well as loadouts to work towards well before you reach the level cap. Also, since this guide is meant to focus on early loadouts, when it comes to secondary […]

Battlefield 6 Review – Battlefield Is (Mostly) Back

9 October 2025 at 15:00

Battlefield 6 cover art featuring soldiers overlooking a city with explosions and helicopters.

Battlefield 6 has a lot on its shoulders. EA put the effort of four studios together under the Battlefield Studios banner (Motive, Criterion, Ripple Effect, and DICE) to try and get a win for the series after the overall loss that was Battlefield 2042. As of last week, it has to try to get people to forget that, in a year's time, EA will likely be a very different company under its new ownership, despite what chief executive officer Andrew Wilson might claim. It also has to try to compete with an annual franchise that makes up for nearly half […]

Four soldiers in tactical gear with rifles move through a dense forest environment.

At the time of this writing, we are one week and a day away from Battlefield 6 launching on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 platforms. We've known it would be a major release for the series, potentially even its biggest release, since its multiplayer beta absolutely blew up earlier this year, and now a new report shows just how big it'll be, and how big it's projected to be. A new report from The Game Business reveals a couple of new statistics from data firm Ampere Analysis. According to Ampere, Battlefield 6 already has 1.7 million copies pre-ordered […]

Now that we're a few days removed from the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, EA and its Battlefield Studios have had a chance to look at the results, which, based on the player counts we saw during the beta, are unsurprisingly staggering. According to EA, the beta for Battlefield 6 drew in the most players for a beta in the series' history, with 420,127,450 matches played across 92,351,578 hours of gameplay. The beta also contained more content than any previous beta in the series' history, with multiple modes across four maps available for players to check out. 32% of all players […]

EA reportedly wants to release a new Battlefield entry annually

18 August 2025 at 10:00

The Battlefield franchise is currently in the best spot it’s been in years, with fans of the franchise – both old and new – hotly anticipating the upcoming BF6. Though it seems the series might finally be β€˜back’, EA looks to be counting its chickens before they hatch; with insiders claiming that the publisher hopes to go the Call of Duty route with annual entries.

As reported by analyst Michael Patcher via the β€˜Patcher Factor’ show on YouTube, Electronic Arts is seemingly taking inspiration from Microsoft/Activision and Call of Duty in wanting to turn Battlefield into an annual franchise from a rotating set of studios.

As stated by patcher: β€œI talked to EA, Byron Beede, good dude, former Activision guy who worked at Infinity Ward with Vince. And he's running the Battlefield franchise. And their goal is three studios making Battlefield on a three year basis. So they can get to Battlefield annually.”

Battlefield EA

Fortunately or unfortunately, this seems to be more of a medium-term plan, with Patcher claiming β€œ[Byron Beede] said it's going to take 5 or 6 years before they can get 2 in a row, so we're not going to get there for a while. But that's their plan.”

Currently for BF6, the game is being worked on by β€˜Battlefield Studios’ – a partnership between EA’s Criterion; Ripple Effect; Motive and DICE studios. Whether this set-up would change much moving forward we will have to wait and see.

That said, given how Call of Duty is barely able to get annual titles working with over a dozen different studios, it seems like EA is showing its hand a bit too prematurely.

KitGuru says: What do you think of this plan? Will it backfire? Does Battlefield Studios have the dev-power to launch new entries annually? Let us know down below.

The post EA reportedly wants to release a new Battlefield entry annually first appeared on KitGuru.

It's only the second week of its open beta, but Battlefield 6 is already looking like it'll be the game to take over 2025 with how strong its player numbers are on Steam alone. The second week of the beta has already surpassed 400K concurrent players on Steam, and now analyst Rhys Elliot of Alinea Analytics is predicting that the game will hit 1 million pre-orders on Steam, after having already hit over 600K. On X (formerly Twitter), Elliot shared a few key data points from Alinea Analytics' tracking of Battlefield 6, like how the firm is claiming that the […]

Battlefield 6 Open Beta promo with soldiers, vehicle, pyramids, and helicopters in action scene.

Battlefield 6 is currently available for players to try in an early access, semi-closed beta form, which is only semi-closed because technically anyone could have acquired a code through specific channels, but only those with a code can jump into the beta today and tomorrow before it opens to the rest of the non-code-having public on August 9-10 and then again next weekend from August 14-17. And even in that confusing, not entirely closed, yet not entirely open form, hundreds of thousands of players have jumped through every necessary hoop to play Battlefield 6 as soon as possible, with today's […]

Need for Speed Franchise May Have Been Shelved by Electronic Arts

12 July 2025 at 09:00

DLSS 3 Need for Speed Unbound

According to a new report, the Need for Speed franchise may have been shelved by Electronic Arts. The news comes from a rather unlikely place, albeit theoretically trustworthy all the same. Matthew Everingham, one of the contributors to the website Speedhunters, relayed the following message on Instagram: Speedhunters is on ice. EA shelved Need For Speed, and that means no more funding for the site. Grateful for everything β€” the trips, the stories, the lifelong mates. I'm still shooting, just shifting gears into more video. For those unfamiliar with Speedhunters, it is 'an international collective of photographers, writers and drivers […]
