Apple Is An Unequivocal Winner In The $11.5 Billion Amazon & Globalstar Satellite Constellation Deal

14 April 2026 at 17:37

A satellite with large solar panels orbits the Earth, with the moon visible in the distance against a backdrop of space.

Apple's smart investment in Globalstar now stands to yield a sizable return, while allowing for a significant expansion in the iPhone's satellite-based connectivity features further down the line, courtesy of the $11.5 billion acquisition deal between Amazon and Globalstar. Apple will not only recoup its investments in Globalstar and then some, but also benefit from the upcoming expansion in Amazon's Leo-branded constellation of satellites For the benefit of those who might not be aware, Apple acquired a 20 percent stake in Globalstar back in 2023 for $400 million, while also committing to injecting $1.1 billion in cash-based liquidity to expand […]

Amazon Luna to end third-party integration and library sharing support

13 April 2026 at 15:00

Amazon has announced it is ending support for third-party integrations on its Luna cloud gaming service. Effective immediately, users can no longer purchase Ubisoft+ or Jackbox Games subscriptions via the platform. The β€œBring Your Own Library” feature, which allows access to titles from EA, GOG, and Ubisoft storefronts, will also be discontinued on June 3rd.

Amazon will automatically cancel active subscriptions purchased through Luna at the end of the next billing cycle. Users who maintain a Ubisoft+ subscription directly through Ubisoft can continue to access the service via Luna until June 10th. Standalone games purchased through Ubisoft's platform also remain playable until June 10th.

Amazon confirmed it is not offering refunds for software purchases. However, users will retain access to these titles through their respective third-party accounts, such as the EA App, GOG Galaxy, or Ubisoft Connect. The company stated in an email to users that it is refocusing on a wider range of gaming experiences, including the GameNight party game format.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis reportedly pushed back to early 2027

13 April 2026 at 10:00

Following the release of Shadow of the Tomb Raider in 2021, Lara Croft went on a bit of a sabbatical, giving the series time to breathe in the wake of the conclusion of her latest trilogy. During last December’s Game Awards however, Croft and co. finally returned with the announcement of two new projects – Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst. While the first of these two was initially planned to launch some time in 2026, insiders have now claimed that Legacy of Atlantis has been pushed back to early 2027.

As reported by the Tomb Raider-focused β€˜Society of Raiders’ (who accurately detailed the Game Awards announcements prior to their official unveilings), the first of these two projects – Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis – β€œis rumored to be released in February 2027.”

This marks a shift from its officially-announced release window, with the title previously stated to be arriving some time this year.

Tomb Raider Croft

While pitched as a mere rumour (due to their sources being kept anonymous) Society of Raiders did correctly identify the announcements of Legacy of Atlantis and Catalyst prior to their official announcements, and so this latest claim does carry some weight.

For the uninitiated, Legacy of Atlantis is said to be a full-blown remake of the OG 1996 Tomb Raider built using Unreal Engine 5. Initially, the game was scheduled to arrive some time this year, with Catalyst (a brand new mainline entry) releasing a year later in 2027.

Assuming this latest delay is true however, it will be interesting to see whether we’ll be getting two new Tomb Raider games next year, or if Catalyst will also be pushed back as a result.
