CD Projekt RED has reportedly been working with Shantae developer WayForward on a Cyberpunk: Edgerunners project codenamed Gemini. The rumor comes from MP1st, which discovered the news from the portfolio of a former WayForward developer, who listed this project as in development as of 2025-2026. Of course, there's no telling whether the concept moved forward or was scrapped, as is often the case in game studios. Still, the few details available point to a "rollback-driven" 2.5D beat'em up, which could have fit the anime style of Edgerunners. WayForward also has some experience in the genre thanks to the River City […]

25 June 2026 at 17:30

Epic president Tim Sweeney wearing glasses and a dark jacket is speaking in front of a glowing logo featuring a stylized Unreal Engine 6 logo.

At last week's Unreal Fest in Chicago, Epic Games unveiled the integration of AI tools like Claude and Gemini into Unreal Engine 5.8 (and the upcoming Unreal Engine 6) through an MCP server. As with all things related to AI, the news received a somewhat mixed response from the development and gaming community, especially as fears of "AI slop" become rampant. In an interview with IGN, Epic Games founder, CEO, and majority shareholder Tim Sweeney admitted that there's the risk of that, but likened it to the "asset flip" of this new generation of games, asserting that low quality games […]

During the State of Unreal 2026 presentation, streamed live from Chicago's Unreal Fest, Epic Games announced the launch of Unreal Engine 5.8 and also talked in depth about the upcoming Unreal Engine 6, first teased last month during the Rocket League Championship Series 2026 in Paris. Founder, CEO, and majority shareholder Tim Sweeney took the stage to explain that UE6 is about evolving how games are shipped and operated, not just improving rendering or world-building: The vision is that if you build things once in Unreal Engine 6, then you can have a game you can ship everywhere, including the […]

Apple Removes The Fog Around Its New Cloud-Based, And 20-Billion-Parameter On-Device AI Models, Brushes Aside Google’s Contributions While Hyping NVIDIA’s

8 June 2026 at 22:15

Apple logo with glowing colors and the text Apple Intelligence on a black background.

Apple has established a sprawling and intricate compute architecture, one that ropes in Google and NVIDIA to paper over its embarrassing AI-related shortcomings. Even so, Apple's WWDC 2026 keynote answered as many questions as raised new ones. Thankfully, the Cupertino-based tech giant is now issuing clarifications at the speed of lightning, resolving lingering uncertainties on a war footing of sorts. Apple craftily obfuscates Google's contributions to its new Apple Intelligence architecture, taking pains to point out its own technologies at the core of this new paradigm We already know that Apple Intelligence consists of a combo of on-device and cloud-based […]

Apple's new Siri, empowered by a custom Google Gemini model in the cloud, was supposed to run on Apple silicon, or so the maker of iPhones had assured not too long ago. Yet, Apple has struggled to accommodate Google's behemoth of a model on its own servers, forcing the Cupertino-based tech giant to resort to a NVIDIA GPU-based band-aid of sorts to safeguard at least a shred of its privacy-related credentials, all the while hosting the Siri-enabling Gemini model on Google's servers. Apple has to host the new Siri-enabling behemoth of a model on Google's servers for optimal inference, and […]
