Live-Action Legend of Zelda movie has officially wrapped-up filming

15 April 2026 at 09:00

In the wake of the overwhelming success of the first Super Mario Bros. Movie, Nintendo were quick to announce that they are also working on a Legend of Zelda film. It appears as though the project is progressing smoothly, with filming said to have now officially been wrapped-up ahead of its expected May 2027 premiere date.

Making the announcement at CinemaCon 2026 (and reported by the Japanese publication β€˜denfaminicogamer’) production on the live-action Legend of Zelda movie has officially hit a new milestone, with the team having now concluded their filming stage of the project.

In case you missed it, shooting for the film first began back in early November of last year in which we got our first looks at Bo Bragason as Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link.

With the film’s shooting now officially concluded, the project will be moving to its post-production stage. This of course involves a ton of work still, including editing; sound design; visual effects; colour grading and much more.

Still, this latest milestone is worthy of note, and suggests that The Legend of Zelda film will likely make its current scheduled release date of the 7th of May 2027.

Nintendo has already seen a ton of success in the film space, with the 2023 Super Mario Bros. Movie raking in over $1.3 Billion at the box office (and its sequel well on its way to cracking a Billion).

While it is unlikely that the Zelda movie will be as lucrative financially, here’s to hoping that its critical reception manages to supersede that of Mario Bros.

KitGuru says: Are you looking forward to the Legend of Zelda film? How much money do you think it’ll make? Does it have the potential to be a critical hit? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Reikon Games announces Ruiner 2

6 March 2026 at 15:45

Polish developer Reikon Games has unveiled Ruiner 2, the sequel to its 2017 cult-classic twin-stick shooter. While the original was a focused, brutal blast of cyber-violence, the sequel is aiming for a broader scope, shifting into a cyberpunk action RPG.

Returning players will find themselves back in Rengkok, but this time the gameplay is built around the Shell System. Rather than being locked into a single class, you play as a hacker capable of hijacking the bodies of fallen heroes. These bodies, also known as Shells, allow you to swap between different combat styles on the go, adapting to every situation.

The depth of the RPG systems in Ruiner 2 appears to be a love letter to theory-crafters. Each Shell comes with four unique skills, each featuring branching progression nodes that fundamentally alter how the ability functions. Balancing your build is a game of logistics, as every piece of equipment draws from a dedicated resource pool of power, CPU, and memory. With no β€œfree” gear slots, every upgrade is a direct trade-off. This is further supported by the Neural Network, a persistent hacker-level passive tree that provides buffs across your entire roster of Shells.

Combat has been redesigned to favour high-speed synergies, whether you are playing solo or with friends. In single-player, you control a team of three Shells simultaneously, switching between them to chain abilities into devastating loops. The sequel also introduces three-player online co-op, where a full team can bring up to six Shells into the fray, creating screen-clearing combos that wouldn't be possible alone. For those who live for the grind, Reikon has confirmed an β€œendless endgame” featuring escalating tiers of difficulty and loot, ensuring that the only ceiling on your progression is the efficiency of your build.

The minimum system requirements have already been published and can be found below:

  • OS:Β Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor:Β AMD Ryzen 5 2600 / Intel Core i5-8400
  • Memory:Β 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics:Β NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB) / AMD Radeon RX 580 (8GB)
  • DirectX:Β Version 12
  • Network:Β Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage:Β 10 GB available space

KitGuru says: Reikon Games is taking a bit of a gamble by pivoting from a twin-stick shooter to an ARPG, but the Shell System looks like a good fit for the franchise. Have you played the original Ruiner? Were you hoping it would get a sequel?

Riot Games Allegedly Tried to Buy Ashes of Creation in 2022-2023; Intrepid CEO Steven Sharif Files Counter-Lawsuit

The story behind the MMORPG Ashes of Creation, its development team (Intrepid Studios), its founder and CEO Steven Sharif, and its major investors (Robert Dawson, Jason Caramanis) continues to get messier. As you might remember, Jason Caramanis publicly accused Steven Sharif of fraud, embezzlement, and other illegal acts, and mentioned that Sharif would be the target of several lawsuits, including one already filed by TFE Games Holdings against Steven Sharif and his husband, John Moore, on February 9, 2026, in the Nevada District Court, Clark County. However, a few days ago, Sharif himself filed a counter-lawsuit in the United States […]

Dead By Daylight is getting an animated TV show

18 February 2026 at 10:00

Dead by Daylight is perhaps one of the most popular horror games of all time, with the asymmetrical multiplayer title amassing over 60 million players since its initial launch back in 2016. In the decade since, the game has continued to grow, crossing over with countless different iconic IPs. Already somewhat of a multi-media franchise, Dead By Daylight is now set to receive an animated show adaptation.

Following the recent announcement by THR stating that Dead by Daylight is getting a live-action film adaptation (produced by Blumhouse and James Wan’s Atomic Monster), it appears as though other similar adaptations are also in the works.

As reported by the publication DreadCentral, alongside the film adaptation, β€œthe companies are also out to writers to develop a Dead by Daylight animated series based on the games.”

Dead By Daylight Animated

Little else has been provided in this regard and so it is safe to assume that the animated series is still in its early days of development.

As mentioned, Dead By Daylight is a massive franchise which has only grown further in popularity with time. That said, with the game’s strong focus on crossing over with other famous horror IPs, it will be interesting to see whether these adaptations will instead stick with the original characters and creations made for the game itself.
