No Rest for the Wicked Won’t Arrive on Xbox Alongside the PS5 Thanks to the Series S “Making That Rough”

4 June 2026 at 14:20

Xbox Series S and Series X consoles alongside a game character with long hair and golden armor in a fantasy setting.

One of the many announcements that came out of PlayStation's State of Play event earlier this week was the reveal that No Rest for the Wicked, the action RPG from Ori developer Moon Studios, would launch out of early access this coming October 2026 and launch on PS5, but not Xbox Series X/S or Nintendo Switch 2. It's not uncommon to see Switch/Switch 2 versions of games arrive later, but what's the holdup for Xbox? Well, according to Moon Studios boss and creative director Thomas Mahler, the responsible party is the Xbox Series S. As spotted by VGC after the […]

Nintendo Switch 2’s Price Hike Marks the End of Mid-Cycle Price Cuts as “The Old Rules” are Obsolete, Analyst Argues

19 May 2026 at 18:48

Mario, wearing a red cap with an 'M' emblem, clutches his chest while standing in a lush field of giant red mushrooms with white spots.

Earlier this month, it was finally confirmed that Nintendo could hold out no longer. The Nintendo Switch 2 is going up in price, with a $50 increase going into effect globally on September 1, 2026. It's a sign of Nintendo, like XBOX and PlayStation, succumbing to the combined pressures of elements like the memory shortage and tariffs, but according to veteran analyst Joost van Dreunen, this final domino falling is "the canary in the coal mine" that if even Nintendo can't stick to its traditional guns, "none of the old rules" of the video game industry are relevant. If van […]

Call of Duty Leaves PS4/Xbox One Behind as Activision Confirms The Next COD is Being Made for Current-Gen Only

4 May 2026 at 20:35

A soldier wearing night-vision goggles stands ready on a battlefield in the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.

Video game studios don't often comment on rumours, but when they do they offer welcome points of clarity for players. Today, Activision chose to comment on a rumour that ran rampant yesterday and most of today, which was that the next Call of Duty game (which is largely reported to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4) is being made for last-gen consoles, specifically PS4. The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the shooter franchise cleared the air on that, and seemingly confirmed one of the biggest questions surrounding 2026's Call of Duty entry. "Not sure where this one started, […]

Asha Sharma is Personally Leading Xbox’s Rebrand, Says She Killed the “This Is an Xbox” Campaign Because “It Didn’t Feel Like Xbox”

27 March 2026 at 18:46

Recently crowned Xbox boss and Microsoft Gaming chief executive officer Asha Sharma hasn't really done much that we've been able to see - yet - but what we have seen so far, and what we'll be able to pin on her in the future just got a little clearer thanks to a report from Windows Central. Earlier this month, the internet noticed that Microsoft had attempted to remove its "This is an Xbox" marketing campaign from existence. Trailers were taken down, posts deleted, and everywhere it could be removed, that messaging was removed by Microsoft. Now, as Windows Central reports, […]

Dispatch Will Not Be Censored on Xbox, AdHoc Studio Still “Actively Working With Nintendo” on Switch Version Censorship

27 March 2026 at 17:57

A group of animated characters in the video game 'Dispatch' pose for a photo inside a cage-like setting, including a red-skinned character with horns, a character with a futuristic glowing helmet, and two others in dynamic poses, while a person is taking their picture.

Yesterday, during the Xbox Partner Preview March 2026 event, we learned that AdHoc Studio's beloved superhero supervisor adventure story, Dispatch, would finally be making its way to Xbox Series X/S consoles. What's more, is that like the PS5 and PC version of the game, the Xbox Series version will not be censored. But the studio is still working to find a solution for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions. Following Dispatch getting its Xbox Series X/S in yesterday's event, when AdHoc announced the news on its studio's X (formerly Twitter) page, unsurprisingly, some of the first comments thrown […]

Analyst Argues “It Wouldn’t Be a Surprise” to See Microsoft and Nintendo Raise Hardware Prices Following PS5 Price Increase

27 March 2026 at 16:58

An image showing the Xbox Series S and X, 'Nintendo Switch 2' with Joy-Con controllers, and the PlayStation 5 console.

Earlier today, PlayStation confirmed that it would be increasing the price of the PS5, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal, after a leak from a French retailer tipped off that the change would happen just yesterday. Now, according to Ampere Analysis analyst Piers Harding-Rolls, hardware increases in games are not done there. We should expect to see increases from Microsoft and Nintendo in the future as well, which would be the first Nintendo Switch 2 price increase and the third Xbox Series X/S price increase. Speaking to Eurogamer, Harding-Rolls, while reacting to the price increases this morning, said, "The supply chain […]

The Eternal Life of Goldman Demo Now Live on Xbox, Will Arrive on Xbox Game Pass on Day-One

26 March 2026 at 18:00

A multi-headed stone serpent deity with glowing eyes and fiery projectiles in an animated, dungeon-like setting.

Weappy Studio's upcoming 2D platforming adventure, The Eternal Life of Goldman, was showcased today during the Xbox Partner Preview event. We got a new trailer with a lot of new gameplay snippets we hadn't seen in previous trailers, and the news that a demo is now available for Xbox Series X/S players after it was already available on Steam. We also learned that when The Eternal Life of Goldman does arrive, it'll be available on Xbox Game Pass on day-one. But, one key thing we did not learn from today's trailer, is when it'll be arriving, as it still, unfortunately, […]
