If early PlayStation Store listings are any indication, GTA 6 might not launch everywhere at once. Instead, Rockstar could be going for a regional rollout, which would mean some players get to play up to 19 hours before others.

GTAVice was the first to spot the change, noticing that PlayStation Store pages now show different launch times depending on your region. According to GTAVice, the game is set to release beginning in New Zealand and progressing through 15 release windows across 19 hours, so American players could be nearly a full day behind Kiwi ones.

Does the GTA 6 regional launch matter for you?

This is where the classic New Zealand trick comes back into play. It’s a workaround where you set your console or account region to New Zealand so you can unlock a game the moment it drops there, even if you’re sat in Europe or the US. If GTA 6 really is going regional, expect a lot of people dusting off that trick the second midnight hits in New Zealand.

Rockstar hasn’t confirmed any of this yet, so it’s worth treating the listings as a placeholder for now rather than gospel. A worldwide simultaneous launch would obviously be the safer bet for avoiding spoilers, since a staggered rollout means some players finishing missions and posting online while others haven’t even started downloading.

Either way, if you’re desperate to be first, you might want to brush up on your New Zealand trick before launch day.

Sony just gave us our first proper look at the GTA 6 DualSense controllers, and the internet’s response was basically one long groan.

The two limited-edition pads go up for pre-order on September 10 and launch alongside Grand Theft Auto 6 on November 19. They look sharp, but nobody in the comments seemed to care about that. Instead, the reveal trailer turned into a dumping ground for jokes about Sony’s decision to ditch discs from January 2028 onwards.

That’s the joke doing the rounds right now, and variations of it are everywhere under the announcement. One user wrote they couldn’t wait to “PHYSICALLY buy it AND OWN IT FOREVER.” Another asked when the “digital-only controller” would be available. Someone else wanted to know if the box actually contains the controller, or just a licence to use one.

It’s the same energy every PlayStation post gets lately, and it says more about where the fanbase’s trust sits with Sony right now than it does about the controllers themselves, which, to be fair, look genuinely nice.

GTA 6 fans wanting one of these for their shelf will still snap them up fast. But the mockery buried them today, and honestly, Sony probably saw this coming.

Netflix paid good money to stream Grand Theft Auto 6‘s gameplay reveal last week, and going by the numbers, it got its money’s worth.

31 million views and counting

According to Netflix’s own Tudum data, the 27-minute GTA 6 Extended Look pulled in 31.1 million views, making it the number one “movie” in 58 countries and a top 10 entry in 87 of 93 tracked regions. It even beat The Whisper Man, Netflix’s own new film starring Adam Scott and Robert De Niro. Beating your own release is one thing, but topping the entire streamer with a game trailer is another.

The stream was so busy that Netflix reportedly buckled for a short while right after launch, before people could get in to watch it.

The footage didn’t stay a Netflix exclusive for long either. Once it hit YouTube later the same day, it racked up over 17 million views in under four days. Add that to Netflix’s tally and the reach starts looking properly massive, though the two platforms obviously don’t measure viewership the same way.

For comparison, Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein hit 29.1 million views in its first three days on Netflix last year. GTA 6 matched that kind of pull with a trailer, not a full film.

None of this is surprising when GTA 6 already has an estimated five million pre-orders across PS5 and Xbox, and PS5 Pro consoles are reportedly getting harder to find at US retailers because of it. The only thing left to prove now is whether the game can live up to the hype when it launches on Nov. 19.

Rockstar built a relationship system into GTA 6, and somehow that’s the part causing real-world breakups.

The mechanic lets players shape the bond between Lucia and Jason through small gestures: texts, dates, the occasional shared crime spree. It’s a genuinely thoughtful addition to a series not exactly known for emotional depth. Naturally, the internet found a way to make it a fight.

A pocket of TikTok creators, self-described gaming girlfriends and fiancées, have decided the feature is grounds for ending things. EL Michelle branded it a cheating simulator. diaryofasalesgirl was blunter still, banning her partner from the game outright and tying it to a wider gripe about men and gaming rotting their brains.

Commenters weren’t shy about clapping back, plenty accusing these creators of manufacturing drama for views rather than genuinely fearing competition from a pixelated Floridian couple.

Worth remembering: fictional romance in games goes back to Phantasy Star III in 1990, and dating sims are a thriving genre on Steam today. If anything, GTA 6 modelling basic things like honesty and showing up for your partner is more wholesome than most relationship content on your For You page.

Maybe the real lesson here isn’t about GTA 6 at all. It’s that some relationships apparently can’t survive a loading screen.

Forget infinite petrol. GTA 6 is making you actually watch the fuel gauge.

Rockstar North co-director Rob Nelson confirmed the change during an interview with Brazilian creator DavyJones, who got an early look at the game in July. Cars, and even electric vehicles, will need refuelling or recharging as you play. Nelson described hijacking a car mid police chase only to find it a quarter full, turning a shootout into a race against the fuel light too.

Rockstar says it won’t be a chore

Nelson insists the system won’t punish you every five minutes. A full tank should last a good while, so this sounds more like added texture than a new grind. I reckon that’s the right call. Refuelling only works if it creates the odd tense moment, not a constant errand.

It fits a bigger pattern too. Rockstar’s own boss has said past protagonists felt “a bit all-powerful,” and GTA 6 seems built to strip some of that away. Between fuel, a beefed up carjacking system, and everything else, this is Rockstar’s most grounded open world yet, closer to Red Dead Redemption 2 than any past GTA.

We’ll see how it holds up when GTA 6 launches on Nov. 19. If refuelling turns annoying, Rockstar can always dial it back.

Rockstar Games has finally said something about the GTA 6 leak mess that’s been swallowing gaming Twitter for a week.

A group calling itself CYBERLEEK has been dumping GTA 6 clips online, dressing it up as some kind of protest against the death of physical PlayStation discs. Cute story. Then the paid polls showed up, letting people vote on what leaked next for cash, and the whole “we’re doing this for gamers” act fell apart instantly.

Take-Two’s hunt for the GTA 6 leaker is dragging on, and now Discord’s basically shrugging at them too.

Discord marketing director Ryan Rigney said today the company still hasn’t been served with a subpoena, even though Take-Two’s Aug. 20 court filing named Discord as a target. His line on X was blunt: once it lands, they’ll check how valid and how broad it actually is before doing anything.

And it is broad. Take-Two wants every account linked to servers tied to handles like CYBERLEEK, CINEMATICROCKSTAR, and Surfer24k, plus the Odyssey.gg community and even DarkViperAU’s editing server. Microsoft’s named too, ordered to hand over its internal notes on the “cyberleek” persona.

That’s the part that should worry people. You don’t have to be the leaker to get swept into this, just unlucky enough to be on the wrong server.

None of it’s slowed the GTA 6 leaks down. Latest clip put Jason at a nudist colony in Vice City, with fans voting on what leaks next, crypto shilling included. Netflix’s reveal hits Thursday. The leaker’s got days left to stay anonymous, not weeks.

Rockstar can’t catch a break. The GTA 6 leaker is back with a seventh gameplay video, and this one finally gives us a peek at the strip club.

Most of the two-minute clip, labelled “Hypercar Gameplay 2,” builds on the hypercar footage. You get store robberies, a refuelling stop, and a slow-motion crash for good measure. Standard leaker fare at this point.

The real hook comes at the end, where the player walks into the strip club for about 10 seconds. It’s brief, but it’s the first time we’ve properly seen it in motion rather than just heard about it.

Grab it while you can. Take-Two has been quick to DMCA these clips, and this one probably won’t last much longer on Reddit.

What’s odd is that Lucia still hasn’t shown up in any of these leaks. Some fans reckon she’s locked behind further story progress, which would explain why this leaker, whoever they are, hasn’t stumbled into her yet.

All this comes just a week before the official GTA 6 Netflix Showcase on August 27, and Take-Two still hasn’t figured out how the leaks are getting out, despite subpoenas sent to Microsoft and Discord. At this rate, Rockstar’s own showcase might struggle to top what’s already leaked.

Twenty four hours of silence had people thinking the GTA 6 leaker was done. Turns out he was just recharging.

CYBERLEEK, the account behind the ongoing wave of Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks, is back with “Hypercar Part I”. Rockstar clearly hasn’t met whatever demands this person has, so the leaks keep coming, right up until the GTA 6 Netflix Showcase.

Shared by @DMalsya, the footage is honestly one of the tamer leaks so far. It’s just Jason driving a very fast car through the streets of Leonida for a couple of minutes. No shootout, no chaos, nothing that really needed leaking. Some think the slow, steady drip of clips is less about exposing the game and more about keeping the leaker’s memecoin relevant.

Still, every leak chips away at what Rockstar wanted to reveal on its own terms, and Take-Two’s investors have already felt it, with the company losing $2 billion in value after the leaks started.

Take‑Two is escalating its response to this week’s GTA 6 leak spree, filing legal information requests with Microsoft and Discord as it attempts to identify the person responsible for posting extensive gameplay clips from an apparent full build of the game.

As reported by VGC, Take‑Two has submitted DMCA subpoenas to the Southern District Court of New York seeking user data linked to the “Cyberleek” persona. The publisher is requesting internal Microsoft business and investigative records, as well as a wide range of identifying information from Discord, including account IDs, registration emails, IP addresses, device identifiers and linked services.

The leaker has been posting confidential GTA 6 clips for several days, ahead of Rockstar’s planned Netflix gameplay premiere, which is due next week. These aren’t minor snippets, the leaker appears to have access to a full development build, showing open‑world exploration, major story cutscenes and other unreleased content. The clips have been shared in exchange for cryptocurrency promotion, prompting swift takedown efforts from Rockstar’s legal team.

Take‑Two’s petition asks Discord to provide details on all accounts communicating within specific servers between the 1st of June 2026 and the present, along with any associated device telemetry. Microsoft is being asked to hand over records tied to its own internal investigation into the Cyberleek account. The filings indicate that both companies may hold data relevant to identifying the person behind the leaks.

KitGuru Says: With access to a full working build of the game, Take-Two could have a far bigger situation on its hands. Aside from showing gameplay early, this person could also potentially sell access to the game months ahead of release, or worse, put it out on the internet for anyone to get hold of.

Rockstar just can’t catch a break right now. Barely a day after the wild GTA 6 leaks hit the internet, the leaker behind it all, going by CYBERLEEK, has now announced exactly when the next batch is dropping. Bold move.

August 18 was already a mess for Rockstar. A pile of GTA 6 videos and screenshots leaked out of nowhere, and Take-Two firing off DMCA takedowns pretty much confirmed the footage was real. CYBERLEEK had already threatened Rockstar and other big publishers with more leaks to come, and it turns out that wasn’t just talk.

More GTA 6 leaks locked in for August 19

According to posts on CYBERLEEK’s Discord, the next drop is scheduled for 8 PM ET on August 19, consisting of “2-4 More Leaks.” No word yet on whether that means more gameplay clips, screenshots, or both.

The timing here is brutal for Rockstar, landing just days before the GTA 6 Netflix Showcase. CYBERLEEK reportedly said on a YouTube livestream that the new material includes Lucia riding an airboat through Leonida’s swamps, an alligator encounter, gun modding and trunk inventory footage, and a 5-star police chase complete with spike strips.

CYBERLEEK also claimed the drip-feed approach is down to being rate-limited, which raises an obvious question: if there’s really this much footage sitting around, is this about to become a daily thing? Tune in at 8 PM ET and find out.

There haven't been many GTA 6 leaks over the course of development but there have been a few. Back in 2022, the first gameplay clips leaked from an alpha build, revealing key details, such as two playable main characters, and the larger Vice City map. Now, more gameplay footage has started leaking this week ahead of the exclusive Netflix gameplay premiere next week.

We can't link to the leaks here, but the first gameplay clip leaked just last night, causing swift action from Rockstar's legal team in an effort to stop the clip from spreading. Now, the same leaker has shared more clips, showing part of a story cutscene, as well as basic open-world gameplay, including shooting and car-jacking.

The leaker has threatened to continue leaking gameplay over the next week, while also promoting a suspicious crypto coin, so there does appear to be some dubious intent behind these leaks.

If you are looking forward to GTA 6 and plan on getting it when it comes out in November, you should be careful when looking up anything to do with the game over the next several weeks, as these new leaks do contain some story spoilers, not just open-world gameplay.

Rockstar will reveal the first official GTA 6 gameplay footage on August 27th, via Netflix. A few hours after the Netflix reveal, the gameplay will also be uploaded to YouTube.

Rockstar just can’t catch a break. GTA 6 gameplay footage leaked online this week, DMCA strikes rained down almost instantly, and then things got weirder when the leaker actually came forward with a manifesto. Yeah, a manifesto.

It started with a handful of clips hitting social media showing off exploration bits, a six-star wanted level, a new location nobody had seen, NPC interactions, loadout systems, car refuelling, the in-game phone, and how stamina works. Rough quality, sure, but Take-Two striking every single upload almost the moment it appeared told you all you needed to know about how real this was. One early clip showed Jason playing basketball outside his beachfront house, and it looked janky enough that people assumed AI fakery, right up until the takedowns started flying.

Who’s behind this GTA 6 chaos

Turns out the leaker didn’t want to stay anonymous. A group or person calling themselves CYBERLEEK claimed responsibility and dropped three “commandments” publishers need to follow: no digital-only preorders, no fake single-player DLC, and no gutting single-player content for monetisation. Their statement warned that Rockstar (and any other publisher who crosses these lines) needs to publicly apologise and commit to change, or the leaks keep coming. No quiet deals, no private settlements, just public pressure. Bold strategy, and a little unnerving if you’re a AAA publisher with skeletons in the digital storefront.

Wait, is this even new footage?

Here’s the twist that takes some heat off Rockstar. Metadata on the basketball clip shows it was encoded with an FFmpeg build from November 2023, which means the file itself couldn’t have existed before then, though the actual footage could be older still since encoding wipes out the original recording date. Leaker NateTheHate reckons the clips are over a year old and unrelated to the GTA 6 preview events currently running. Others on the GTA Forum pushed back, pointing out an old encoder just means old software touched the file, not that the gameplay itself is ancient.

Either way, whatever leaked is probably a fossil compared to what Rockstar’s actually sitting on now, especially with a Netflix GTA 6 showcase landing any day. Old footage or not, CYBERLEEK says they’re not done, and that should have every publisher checking their locks.

Turns out most people aren’t blinking at GTA 6‘s $100 price tag. New data from Sensor Tower shows 89% of all pre-orders for the game are going towards the Ultimate Edition, not the standard one.

That number lines up with what Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick already hinted at: buyers are leaning premium. Karl Kontus, SVP at Sensor Tower, told GamesIndustry.biz that this figure will likely drop as more casual players jump in closer to launch, but the split should still land well above what’s normal for the industry. His words: “I expect the split for these to be much closer to 50/50… GTA 6 is very hard to forecast, given it lives in a league of its own.”

Xbox and PS5, GTA 6 buyers are basically twins on this

The console breakdown barely moves the needle. Xbox sits at 90% Ultimate Edition pre-orders, PlayStation is close behind at 88.5%. Whatever platform people are on, they’re paying up.

Marketing for the game hasn’t even properly started yet, and Kontus expects most pre-orders to land in the final week before release. So this 89% figure is really just an early read, not the full picture.

There’s more hype coming too. A Netflix look at GTA 6 is landing later this month, and Zelnick has already been talking up that partnership. Rockstar clearly isn’t worried about people opening their wallets wide.

Rockstar appears to be gearing up for new Grand Theft Auto 6 reveals. The official GTA 6 website has remained dormant since pre‑orders went live last month, but over the past day, the site has been updated repeatedly, suggesting that Rockstar’s marketing push may be about to ramp up through August.

In a new post from iGrandTheftAuto, a fan site that monitors Rockstar’s backend changes, multiple updates were detected across the GTA 6 webpage.
