PS5 Emulation Is Moving Faster Than Anyone Expected, and the “No Single-Player PC Ports” Policy Makes That Awkward for Sony

12 September 2026 at 12:30

A warrior in armor stands with a sword and shield before a large castle, surrounded by skeletal enemies, with a dragon flying overhead in the video game Demon's Souls Remake, on the PS5 emulator KyTyPS5.

Just a few days ago, we covered PlayStation 5 emulator KyTyPS5 getting Grand Theft Auto V running, and raised the half-joking possibility that Grand Theft Auto VI might end up playable on PC through emulation before Rockstar ships an official port. That timeline now looks a bit less outlandish in light of the emulator's latest advancements. As reported by DSOGaming, the emulator has gone from running Bluepoint's Demon's Souls Remake at 2 FPS to somewhere between 10 and 18 FPS in the space of a single release. That's an 800% improvement, and it isn't a typo. Demon's Souls isn't alone, […]

PlayStation 5 Pro Crushes Marvel’s Wolverine’s Advanced Ray Tracing, As Performance Takes Measly 3-4 FPS Hit

11 September 2026 at 09:54

A close-up of Wolverine in his yellow suit from the upcoming video game Marvel's Wolverine, showing his fierce expression.

The PlayStation 5 Pro is the most powerful console on the market, and it hasn't failed to show time and time again how its ray tracing capabilities and PSSR upscaler can make a lot of difference compared to the base system. And with the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine, the current-generation refresh shows even more of its ray tracing prowess, as it is capable to handle the game's most advanced ray tracing effects with a negligible hit to performance. A new comparison video put together by ElAnalistaDeBits puts the game running on base PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro side by side, […]

Marvel’s Wolverine Review: Insomniac Trades Spider-Man’s Open World for a Linear, Rage-Fueled Slaughterhouse, and It Mostly Works

10 September 2026 at 15:00

Wolverine engages in combat with multiple armed opponents in an action scene from the game 'Marvel's Wolverine.'

It's no secret that Marvel's Wolverine holds Sony's biggest hopes among its first-party releases this year. Bungie's Marathon and Housemarque's Saros have both already largely underwhelmed, albeit for different reasons and with different outcomes. After Wolverine, the only other Sony-published release due in 2026 is Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition, which, however, is unlikely to make a major splash given that it's just a full edition of a game already released last year, adding the new Echoes of Sekigahara expansion that will also be available as a separate purchase. It all rests on the shoulders of Insomniac Games, then. The Californian […]

Marvel's Venom is depicted standing aggressively in a rain-soaked urban environment, with prominent '© 2023 MARVEL' text on the bottom right.

Insomniac Games is about to launch Marvel's Wolverine, but the studio's massive leak from December 2023 also revealed that they have been working on a standalone Venom game for quite some time. Still, with no official announcement of the project, fans are wondering whether it's still happening. According to insider Nate the Hate, that's absolutely the case: Venom is very much still in development, upon last check. As to when it'll be announced, I don't know. Let's take a step back and look at what we know from previous leaks and rumors, then. The December 2023 leak was caused by […]

Insomniac’s Marvel’s Wolverine on PS5 Runs at 60FPS with Ray Tracing Enabled in Performance Mode, the Game’s Default

13 August 2026 at 17:30

Wolverine from 'Marvel's Wolverine' is having a conversation at a bar with Mystique.

Insomniac Games has just revealed new details about Marvel's Wolverine in an interview with IGN. For example, the game will be the studio's first title to run at 60 frames per second with ray tracing enabled even on the base PlayStation 5 console. Mike Fitzgerald, Head of Technology at Insomniac Games, stated: We've always had these fidelity and performance modes, and then we always sort of last minute get the performance mode with ray tracing and like, ‘But this is pretty good…’ And so for this game from the start, we said, ‘You know what? We know we're confident we […]

Marvel’s Wolverine – Everything You Need to Know About Insomniac’s Brutal, Dark Logan Adventure

21 June 2026 at 15:30

A promotional image for Marvel's Wolverine shows the character in a dynamic pose with claws extended against a yellow background.

Marvel's Wolverine is undoubtedly shaping up to be one of the most anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusives in years. Developed by Insomniac Games — the same studio behind the widely acclaimed and best-selling Marvel's Spider-Man games — in collaboration with Marvel Games, it marks the team's first attempt at a Mature-rated, visceral action game built around one of Marvel's most iconic and brutal characters. The last game to be solely focused on Wolverine was 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a fairly mediocre tie-in of the namesake film developed by Raven Software and published by Activision. Needless to say, the expectations for this […]

God of War Laufey, Resident Evil: Veronica, and Ocarina of Time Remake are Summer Game Fest 2026’s Big Winners

11 June 2026 at 15:18

A collage of video game characters, including a female warrior with orange hair, a sleeping elf-like child, a determined female face, an enraged Wolverine, and a gritty soldier, depicting a range of gaming themes.

Another Summer Game Fest has come and gone, though we're still feeling the ripple effects of everything that was just announced. Part of that comes in the form of looking at what resonated the most with players, and as part of a report from The Game Business, marketing analytics firm LevelUp has the answer for the games that garnered the most engagement from players and press, and none of the top-10 games are a surprise. That's because they're all big, triple-A juggernauts that would've been the most-talked-about games regardless of where they showed up. Not a single indie game broke […]

Remedy, Insomniac, Rebel Wolves and More Are Colliding in September as GTA 6’s November Launch Warps the Entire AAA Calendar

3 June 2026 at 19:30

A collage featuring characters from various video games: a warrior with a sword, Wolverine with claws extended, a fighter with a large sword, a tech-savvy individual with a device, and a warrior with a blade on his arm.

September 2026 was already looking stacked before the State of Play, but yesterday it became veritably tragic for players' wallets. There are at least five (possibly more, depending on your definition of the category) major triple-A releases squeezing in this month, in what's clearly a desperate effort to stay out of the veritable vortex that Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 6 will spin on the industry when it launches on November 19. They're also in fairly similar genres, practically forcing players to choose which to purchase, with inevitable repercussions for their sales. The only silver lining is that Phantom Blade Zero […]

PlayStation May Be ‘Backing Away From Putting Their Traditional Single-Player Games on PC’

26 February 2026 at 16:16

A collage of characters from various PlayStation games, including The Last of Us, Gran Turismo, Horizon Zero Dawn, and God

Over the past few years, plenty of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 exclusive games have made their way to PC, including tentpole franchises like The Last of Us, Marvel's Spider-Man, Horizon, and God of War. However, there is a chance that in the future, only PlayStation live service games will launch on PC. Noted journalist Jason Schreier has suggested that traditional single-player experiences may remain console exclusives for the foreseeable future. Speaking on the latest episode of the Triple Click podcast, the Bloomberg journalist commented on SIE’s strategy moving forward: "I think for them, their strategy is like, live service […]

“Let’s Cut to the Chase”: Insomniac Reveals Marvel’s Wolverine Arrives on PS5 in September 2026

24 February 2026 at 17:31

A dynamic illustration of Wolverine from Marvel, displaying his claws and intense expression against a vibrant yellow

Insomniac Games was done letting us wait, as it announced in a short and to-the-point post on its official social channels that Marvel's Wolverine will release on PS5 this coming September 15, 2026. "Let's cut to the chase" writes Insomniac, before announcing the release date. While it's great to no longer be in the dark on the release date for what is arguably the most anticipated game coming to PS5 for PlayStation players this year, it is a little curious as to why we didn't get this news two weeks ago, when Sony held its first State of Play event […]
