Ubisoft reportedly originally planned to release 6 DLCs for Star Wars Outlaws

15 June 2026 at 08:00

Prior to its arrival back in 2024, Star Wars Outlaws showed plenty of promise, with the first open-world game in the franchise being developed by Massive Entertainment of The Division fame. Unfortunately, its launch was met with somewhat mixed reviews, owing in part to a well-trodden formula alongside plenty of gameplay-related frustrations. While the title wound up receiving two major DLCs of note, insiders have claimed that Ubisoft originally planned to release as many as 6 pieces of post-launch content – before ultimately being cancelled.

As reported by known Star Wars leaker FivesWalker, Ubisoft’s somewhat ill-fated Star Wars Outlaws was originally set to receive far more support than it ended up getting, taking to Twitter to claim:

β€œStar Wars outlaws was expected to be WAY more successful [than] it ended up being. Originally there were 6 DLCs planned, with one of them being a direct tie in with the novel. And yes, there was even a sequel planned.”

The last point was already known, with reports back in 2025 revealing the cancellation of Outlaws’ sequel. That said, the claims of 6 DLCs is new, and so it is interesting to see just how early Ubisoft ended up pulling the plug on the entire project.

Outlaws DLCs

For context, Star Wars Outlaws released back in 2024 to an average reception and relatively poor sales. While the game did see quite a bit of post-launch support in the way of gameplay, stealth and other miscellaneous improvements, its core still very much felt like an open world Ubisoft experience – for better or for worse.

Outlaws would wind up seeing two DLCs released during its lifetime: Wild Card and A Pirate’s Fortune. If β€˜FivesWalker’ is to be believed then the publisher had far more plans for the title initially.

What these would have entailed is unknown, but given Ubisoft’s track-record, it probably would have mostly been more of the same. Still, for fans of Outlaws this likely comes as quite the disappointment.

Why PC Game System Requirements Are Often Misleading

4 June 2026 at 22:04

A graphic titled 'Why PC Game System Requirements Are Often Misleading' shows a screen comparing 'Minimum' and 'Recommended' specs, highlighting discrepancies like 'Unequivalent GPUs?' and 'Incorrect VRAM amounts?', alongside visuals emphasizing issues like 'Fake CPUs' and 'Upscaling Tricks'.

PC system requirements should be simple. You look at the minimum, recommended, and potentially higher-tier specs, compare them to your rig, and get a solid idea of what to expect. Easy enough, right? Well, not anymore, sadly. Over the last decade or so, PC game system requirements (or PC specs) have become incredibly messy, inconsistent, and sometimes borderline useless. We are dealing with vague targets, aggressive temporal upscaling hidden behind an inconspicuous β€œ1080p” or β€œ4K” label, and "60 FPS" targets that incredibly rely on frame generation, which is absolutely not the same thing as actually rendering 60 full game frames […]

PS Plus Extra’s May 2026 Additions Headlined by Star Wars Outlaws and Red Dead Redemption 2 Joining the Game Catalog

13 May 2026 at 17:11

The image shows the PlayStation Plus 'Game Catalog' with new games including The Thaumaturge, Star Wars Outlaws, Bramble: The Mountain King, Red Dead Redemption II, Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia, and Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, available on 'Premium' and 'Extra' plans.

PlayStation has revealed May's batch of PS Plus Extra and Premium games joining the Games Catalog and the Classic's Catalog, and it's a pretty solid list of seven games joining the service, headlined by Star Wars Outlaws and Red Dead Redemption 2, with an eighth title joining the Classic's library. This batch is arguably a better offering than what we had last month, especially considering that one of the bigger titles from April's PS Plus Extra games, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, was a game that was previously available in the PS Plus Extra library, only to be removed and then […]
