Warhammer 40K Boltgun II gets official release date

27 August 2026 at 11:30

Of the many Warhammer games which have been released in recent years, 2023’s Boltgun is one of the more notable – with the DOOM-esque retro inspired boomer shooter being praised in equal parts for its gameplay and OST. Officially announcing a sequel back in 2025, Warhammer 40K: Boltgun II has now gotten a confirmed release date.

Making the announcement via a new trailer, the team at Auroch Digital officially confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun II will launch on the 14th of October 2026; landing neatly in-between heavy hitters such as Gears of War E-Day (6th October) and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 (23rd October).

One thing which neither of the above will have however is a soundtrack composed by industry legend Mick Gordon, with the team taking to their Steam page to write: β€œOne of our goals with Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 was to try and make it bigger and better than the original game and we had some big ideas, like adding a second playable character, incorporating the four Chaos factions, and a few others we can’t mention yet.”

They continued, β€œBut one we can announce today is that Mick Gordon, composer for DOOM Eternal and Wolfenstein: The New Order, joined us for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 to create the music for our final boss battle!”

Unfortunately, it appears as though Gordon only lent his talents in a limited capacity. As mentioned however, the OST for the original Boltgun was itself highly-praised, and so hopefully the rest of the soundtrack for its sequel will be of an equal or greater quality.

KitGuru says: What did you think of the original Boltgun? How did it compare to other similar Boomer Shooters? Who’s your favourite video game composer? Let us know down below.

Helldivers 2 gets Warhammer 40,000 crossover

21 May 2026 at 16:00

Helldivers 2 has had a number of good crossovers during its time, including legendary warbonds for Halo and Killzone-themed gear. Now, the next crossover has been announced, bringing some Warhammer flavour to Arrowhead's shooter.Β

Helldivers 2 will be getting a Warhammer 40,000 legendary warbond later this year. This is one of Helldivers' most-requested crossovers, so fans will be pleased to see it finally become reality.

The trailer does not reveal much about the crossover but as usual, the new legendary warbond will be available to purchase permanently within Helldivers 2, so you don't have to worry about FOMO. Fans can expect new cosmetic armour, and potentially new weapons, gadgets and a vehicle too, but we won't know for sure until closer to release.

The Helldivers 2 Warhammer 40,000 legendary warbond will become available later this year.

KitGuru Says: This is one of those crossovers that just makes perfect sense. Hopefully the final product will be worth it when it eventually lands.Β

Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 reaches new player milestone

20 April 2026 at 11:45

Released over a decade following its first entry, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 launched in September of 2024 to a wave of success; both critically and commercially. Thanks to multiple years of post-launch support (and its inclusion on game subscription services), the 3rd person co-op horde shooter has reached a new major milestone – officially surpassing 12 million total players.

Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, publisher Focus Entertainment officially confirmed that β€œ#SpaceMarine2 has now welcomed 12 million players. A couple years ago, we had great hopes for this project. Today, it has surpassed even our wildest dreams. Thank you twelve million times over.”

While a massive achievement certainly worth celebrating, it should be noted that 12 million players does not equate to 12 million copies sold, especially as the title was added to Sony’s PlayStation Plus game catalogue last month.

Regardless, Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 is an undeniable success, and so it will be interesting to see what’s in store for this sub-series moving forward.

13 March 2026 at 19:00

A desolate landscape from the game 'Warhammer 40,000: Darktide' with the text 'BEYOND THE HIVE' in the top left corner.

Today, Swedish studio Fatshark announced that Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is finally expanding beyond the Hive with the upcoming Expeditions game mode. It's been over three years since the original launch on PC, and so far, players have been confined to the Hive City of Tertium; now, they'll get to explore the many dangers of the Atoma Prime planet. While roaming the desolated plains, they've been given a new objective: to search for Tech Remnants and investigate sites of interest. Even the strongest reject can only survive the polluted air for a limited time, so beware of that and call the […]
