Final Fantasy VII Revelation fans certainly got a healthy dose of news and new footage lately, between the Opening Night Live trailer and the appearance during Sony's State of Play, which also revealed the release date of April 8, 2027. At gamescom 2026, we had the chance to play the game, which our Francesco De Meo absolutely loved, as you can read in his hands-on preview. Separately, we were able to speak with Hamaguchi-san, the man behind the whole Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. GTA Trilogy Dev Finally Admits Fans Were Right, Yet Says the Disaster Wasn’t Entirely the Remaster’s Fault

7 July 2026 at 20:00

The image features three artwork panels of female characters from the game 'Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition' with the game logo on the right.

When GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition launched in November 2021, it was supposed to be a glossy return to three of the most beloved games in Rockstar's history (GTA 3, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas), which redefined the open world genre upon their respective releases. Instead, it immediately became one of the most widely mocked releases in recent memory, with players pointing to bugs, broken lighting, bizarre character models, missing songs, misspelled signs, and even forced Rockstar to pull the PC version temporarily after dataminers uncovered unintentionally included files, including leftover music, developer notes, and other cut content. GTA Trilogy Remaster Studio Grove Street Bets Its Future on BeastLink, a Multiplayer Kaiju Game With 250K Destructible Objects

3 July 2026 at 19:00

A scene from the game 'BEASTLINK' featuring giant monsters battling in a cityscape with flying creatures and military helicopters in the background.

Grove Street Games made its name porting some of the biggest titles in gaming history, from the GTA III era to the fairly recent Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, but its latest project marks a sharp departure from that legacy. BeastLink is the studio's first original IP in over a decade, and it's swinging for the fences with a multiplayer kaiju action game built around one core idea: absolute, city-leveling destruction. Set in a world where humanity clings to survival in shattered strongholds while colossal Beasts rule the ruins, BeastLink tasks players with scavenging resources, battling […]

Spyro: The Reignited Trilogy has officially sold over 11 million copies

15 June 2026 at 09:45

One of the big surprise moments from Microsoft’s recent Xbox Games Showcase was the official announcement that Toys For Bob are working on a brand new Spyro entry – the first one in almost two decades. With the cat now out of the bag, the team at Toys For Bob have been sharing some behind-the-scenes stats and facts, revealing that 2018’s Reignited Trilogy Remake has sold over 11 million copies.

In an interview with the publication GamesRadar+, Toys For Bob studio head Paul Yan and associate creative director Lou Studdert were asked why they chose to partner with Microsoft to develop a brand new Spyro game – even after going independent.

According to Studdert: “Spyro has kind of a deep place in our studio's heart. We've always admired that kind of small but mighty underdog story of the character that's taking on these overwhelming odds, you know, we see ourselves in that a little bit, and honestly, it just was a no-brainer.”

Going into greater specifics, the director continued, “since we made Reignited, we have had the hope to take him further,” with studio head Yan adding:

“Going independent was taking on massive, massive risk, right? It's taking a bet on ourselves. We knew coming out of Reignited – that title sold over 11 million copies, so there's an audience that woke up to show up for that series […] When we came up to Xbox and said, listen, here's our plan, we said, ‘look, there's a community, it's loud and consistent, they know what they want, you're here to make this game, what else do you need, let's get this thing going.”

For years now, Microsoft has shied away from sharing concrete sales data for its games, and so having official confirmation of Spyro: The Reignited Trilogy’s success is welcome to see.

Whether the upcoming ‘A Realm Beyond’ will manage to reach similar figures, we will have to wait and see, but if Crash Bandicoot 4 is anything to go by, then expect quite a significant fall-off when compared to the remake.

KitGuru says: Are you excited for Spyro: A Realm Beyond? How different do you expect it to be compared to the trilogy? Will the sequel ever hit 10 million copies sold? Let us know your thoughts down below.

God of War Laufey Brings Back the Fluidity of the Greek Saga While Retaining the Norse Saga’s Gritty, Personal Combat

3 June 2026 at 11:00

A scene from 'God of War Laufey' shows Faye facing Begtse in a cave, with the text 'Captured On PS5® Pro' in the bottom right corner.

After many rumors, Santa Monica Studio finally unveiled God of War Laufey, the next chapter in the action/adventure franchise and the first to feature a main character other than Kratos. We already knew from the rumor mill that the protagonist would be Faye (whose birth name is Laufey, hence the title), which led most to assume this would be a prequel, since her death kickstarts the events of 2018's God of War game. However, the developers have conceived a wholly different narrative: despite not having been previously called a god, after her funeral pyre, she awakes in a strange place […]
