Apple’s New Performance Cores Within The M5 Pro Chip Are Outcompeting Similar Cores Within Intel’s Panther Lake Chips

16 April 2026 at 17:25

M5 Pro and M5 Max feature stacked dies according to the latest interview

Apple silicon has truly come of age, and if any skeptic still requires an incontrovertible proof, look no further than the performance cores within the new M5 Pro chips, which are now going toe-to-toe with similar cores within Intel's Panther Lake chips, but at a fraction of their overall power draw. The SPEC integer rate metric shows the Apple M5 Pro chip's performance cores go toe-to-toe with similar cores within Intel's Panther Lake chips, while being incredibly efficient For the benefit of those who might not be aware, Apple introduced a new fusion architecture with its M5 Pro and M5 […]

AMD’s Zen 6 CPUs rumoured to hit higher clock speeds than Intel Nova Lake

7 April 2026 at 15:50

New rumours surrounding AMD's next-generation Zen 6 processors have surfaced, indicating a renewed push for higher clock speeds.Β

The latest leaks from HXL (via Wccftech) suggest that Intel's Coyote Cove P-cores are poised to claim the IPC (Instructions Per Clock) crown. Rumours indicate that Intel's focus on a β€œwider” execution engine is paying off, allowing Nova Lake to process more instructions per cycle than AMD's upcoming Zen 6. However, IPC is only half the battle, as AMD is expected to counter this with raw speed.

Early reports for Zen 6 (codenamed Olympic Ridge) suggest that the move to TSMC's N2P (2nm) process is enabling clock speeds as high as 7.0GHz. This would represent a massive jump over the 5.7GHz boost clocks of the Ryzen 9000 series. To complement these speeds, AMD is also restructuring its chiplets, with Zen 6 reportedly moving to a 12-core CCD (Core Complex Die) design, enabling a 24-core flagship with better intra-core latency and a unified 48MB L3 cache per chiplet.

KitGuru says: If all of this proves true, then the next-generation desktop CPUs from Intel and AMD will be very interesting to compare when the time comes.Β

Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core officially launches in May

16 March 2026 at 10:15

Deep Rock Galactic is a fun co-op first-person shooter which sees players working together to mine underground resources in fully-destructible environments – all the while trying to hold back the horde of enemies coming your way. Since its early access release in 2018 the game has attracted millions of players and spawned a number of spin-offs; with the previously-announced DRG: Rogue Core now set to officially launch (in Early Access) this May.

Publishing a new trailer, the team at Ghost Ship Games officially confirmed that the highly-anticipated rogue-lite spin-off Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core will launch in Early Access on the 20th of May for PC.

Initially announced in October of 2023, Rogue Core was originally planned to release all the way back in November of 2024 – though plans of course changed.

For the uninitiated, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core is a β€œ1-4 player co-op FPS action roguelike featuring sci-fi dwarves, alien horrors and procedurally-generated caves”. While seemingly somewhat similar to the mainline DRG, the addition of rogue-like elements should make for a rather different experience overall; one which is more focused on combat than mining.

All that said, following the likes of Deep Rock Galactic and the top-down bullet-heaven DRG: Survivor, Rogue Core looks to be a welcome addition to the Deep Rock Galactic universe.

KitGuru says: What do you think of Deep Rock Galactic? Does Rogue Core interest you more? What other spin-offs would you like the franchise to attempt? Let us know down below.

Autonomous Desk 5 Pro and ErgoChair Ultra Review – Clean and Professional

5 March 2026 at 18:59

A desk setup featuring dual HP monitors, a Razer keyboard, a mouse, and a laptop displaying the 'Wccftech' logo.

Over the past few months, I’ve been shopping around for a first home, and one of the requisites was to have a dedicated office space. Fast forward to November 1st of this year, and my wife and I signed the final documents to get the keys to our new home. Autonomous actually reached out to us much earlier in the year and sent samples of both their Desk 5 Pro and ErgoChair Ultra (in black and white to match the Wccftech logo), but remained sealed in a box until I finally had the space to install a brand new desk. Intel’s β€˜Unified Core’ Ambitions With Next-Gen CPUs Remain Intact as a New Job Posting Signals Further Progress on the Concept

22 February 2026 at 16:11

Intel's unified core strategy is something the world anticipates as the next pivot towards the P/E-core duopoly, and recent job postings indicate that the shift is being developed internally. Intel Is Looking Towards Pivoting Away From Current P/E-Core Designs, But the Idea is In Early Stages The idea of having one 'big core' has been discussed several times in the past, but it remains unclear how major CPU manufacturers will implement this approach in their next-gen lineups. However, Intel's recent job posting reveals that the company has a dedicated "Unified Core" team working on the venture, further bolstering the credibility […]
