Nacon unveils RIG R8 Pro headsets for PlayStation and Xbox consoles

27 April 2026 at 16:30

Nacon has officially announced the launch of the RIG R8 Pro series, a high-performance dual-wireless gaming headset. The series consists of the R8 Pro HS (PlayStation) and HX (Xbox) and represents a significant technical evolution of the 800 Pro, introducing advanced materials and connectivity options designed for the competitive landscape.

The R8 Pro series (HX and HS) uses custom-built 40mm graphene drivers, creating a lighter, more rigid driver structure that virtually eliminates distortion and maintains total harmonic distortion under 0.5%. This choice allows the headset to deliver a frequency response of 20Hz to 40kHz, tuned to highlight mid-range audio cues like footsteps and reload sounds in competitive shooters. Furthermore, the Pro HS headset is optimised for PlayStation's 3D Audio.

Connectivity has been modernised with a dual-wireless system that enables simultaneous audio mixing. Users can connect to their console via a low-latency 2.4 GHz USB-C adapter while maintaining a Bluetooth 5.2 connection to a mobile device. This allows gamers to take calls or hear notifications without interrupting their game audio. For multi-platform users, the headset supports a new multi-system switching feature that pairs up to 4 separate USB-C transmitters, enabling seamless transitions between a PC, PS5, or multiple consoles with the press of a button.

The R8 Pro series is built for endurance, boasting a battery life exceeding 60 hours on a single charge. When not in use, the headsets can rest in a dedicated base station that handles charging and features fully configurable RGB lighting with over 100 possible colour combinations. Moreover, the proprietary RIG Snap+Lock mod system uses magnetic connections for user-swappable earcup plates and ear cushions. Also, the headsets are further supported by the RIG Navigator mobile app, giving players control over EQ settings, microphone gain, and custom profiles from their smartphones. Both models are priced at $199.99.

KitGuru says: Interested in either of the two new RIG R8 Pro headsets that Nacon just launched?
