New Humble 2K MegaHits bundle includes 15 great games for £12

20 July 2026 at 10:15

Humble Bundles are an excellent way for PC players to get their hands on a wide selection of games for a relatively low price. Celebrating the history of publisher 2K, Humble are now offering a MegaHits Bundle, including the likes of Risk of Rain 2; Borderlands 3; Mafia 2; XCOM and much more.

Unlike a majority of Humble Bundles, the 2K MegaHits bundle is only available to purchase in a single form – where-in paying £13.44 will net you a total of 15 titles:

  • XCOM Enemy Unknown
  • X-COM: UFO Defense
  • The Darkness II
  • Hidden & Dangerous trilogy
  • Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour
  • Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition
  • Tales From the Borderlands
  • Homeworld Remastered Collection
  • Tribes of Midgard Deluxe Edition
  • The Quarry
  • Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
  • Bioshock Infinite
  • Mafia II: Definitive Edition
  • Borderlands 3
  • Risk of Rain 2

Humble Bundle

Of course, not every game will be for everyone. Even so, this bundle include plenty of variety, whether it be rogue-likes (Risk of Rain 2); looter-shooters (Borderlands); action-FPS games (The Darkness II, Bulletstorm and Bioshock); choice-based narrative titles (The Quarry); or strategy games (XCOM).

In case you missed it, July’s Humble Choice line-up is still available to claim, including titles such as Neon White, Tunic, Sea of Stars and more. Full details on this month’s Humble Choice offerings can be found HERE.

Borderlands last-minute art change cost Take-Two $50M

18 May 2026 at 14:00

At this point, the Borderlands franchise has sold an estimated 93 million copies across its numerous games. However, the series' future could have looked very different if not for a last-minute art change.

In a recent interview with David Senra, Take-Two CEO, Strauss Zelnick, talked about Borderlands being one of his first big risks. The game had initially been developed with a more realistic art-style, matching the dull grey and brown tones of many shooters from the Xbox 360 era. According to Zelnick, pivoting from this art style and granting an extra year of development to Borderlands 1 ended up costing around $50 million.

As you can see from the teaser above, it is pretty clear why Gearbox wanted to pivot from its original plans. The initial vision for Borderlands looks highly generic for the time. I am not joking when I say that almost every shooter / action game looked a bit like this during the mid to late 2000s. The Cel-Shaded style that Gearbox ultimately ended up with injected a level of personality into the game that was sorely lacking in the AAA games industry at the time.

It is unclear exactly how true the $50M price tag is. As PCGamer points out, Randy Pitchford, head of Borderlands studio Gearbox Entertainment, had previously stated that the budget for Borderlands 2 was $35M. It is hard to imagine an art overhaul and an extra year of development would amount to $50M when the entirety of Borderlands 2 was made on much less than that.

With that said, there are a number of R&D costs associated with spinning up a new IP. While Borderlands 2 was developed in around three years, the first game had been in development for almost five years, so the apparent budget difference may not be as crazy as it first seems.

KitGuru Says: The Borderlands art style has become iconic at this point. It is hard to imagine a scenario where the game has a more ‘realistic' look.

Take-Two CEO confirms that Switch 2 is not a ‘primary’ platform for the publisher

7 May 2026 at 09:15

While the game was initially announced to be releasing on Nintendo Switch 2 roughly around the same time as its PC / home console counterparts, Borderlands 4 would later be indefinitely delayed, sparking concerns that the title might not make its way onto Nintendo’s handheld hybrid. According to the CEO of Take-Two, Borderlands 4 is still coming to the system, even though Nintendo is not a “primary console platform” for the publisher.

In a recent interview conducted by the publication GameFile, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked about the ongoing indefinite delay of Borderlands 4 on Switch 2, and whether the port had been cancelled.

According to Zelnick, one of the main reasons for the delay was to allow Gearbox time to fix up the PC version (which famously suffered from a troubled launch), stating: “We've been addressing those challenges, and we want to make sure that we've fully addressed Borderlands 4 from a consumer's point of view before we bring it to more platforms.”

Switch 2 Borderlands

Even so, Zelnick made it clear that Switch 2 will remain a secondary priority for the publisher, adding that “We want to be wherever the consumer is, and we've supported Switch 2. You can tell from what we are doing and what we're not doing that our primary console platforms remain Sony and Microsoft.”

While not directly stated, Zelnick is likely referring to Grand Theft Auto VI, which is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year. Still, hopefully by the time GTA VI is out, Switch 2 owners will be able to finally try out Borderlands 4.

Gearbox stealth-drops Zynga-developed ‘Borderlands Mobile’ for iOS

10 April 2026 at 11:00

The Borderlands series is no stranger to portable platforms, with the classic Borderlands 2 being ported over to the PlayStation Vita back in the day, as well as the Switch more recently (even if the status of BL4 on Switch 2 remains unclear). In a wholly unexpected move however, a bespoke mobile version of Borderlands has now been surprise-released for iOS. Even more surprising is the fact that it is developed by FarmVille studio Zynga.

Releasing the game onto the iOS App Store with little-to-no fanfare, a brand new free-to-play ‘Borderlands Mobile’ has officially landed – the description for which reads as follows:

“Create Mayhem YOUR way! Loot wild weapons and blast enemies in this mobile Borderlands experience. Join other Vault Hunters in an ever-evolving universe to fight greedy corporations and open legendary Vaults. This action-packed looter shooter brings the signature chaos, art style, and gun-slinging adventure to mobile for the first time!”

Borderlands Mobile

Unlike previous portable BL experiences, this new release appears to be all-original while featuring shorter missions than your typical BL affair.

So far, early impressions seem to be positive, with users noting a lack of any monetisation currently (though this will likely come later down the line).

Regardless, Borderlands Mobile looks to be a pretty competent title, featuring a surprising amount of content from the oft; including a raid boss. Hopefully an Android release is planned at some point in the near future.
