Konami to show off Silent Hill and Castlevania during Gamescom 2026

After taking somewhat of a break from the video games industry for a solid half decade or so, Konami has slowly but surely earned back many fans with the successful launches of various remasters, remakes and even some original games. Looking forward in the short-term, the publisher has now announced its presence at next month’s Gamescom while confirming its line-up – including a new trailer for the soon-to-be-released Silent Hill: Downfall.

Making the announcement via a press release, Konami confirmed their presence at next month’s Gamescom (kicking off on the 26th of August), writing: “Konami […] announces its return to gamescom 2026 and brings its legendary titles to the world’s largest and leading event for the video games industry.”

As mentioned, Konami is keeping things relatively light this year, with the biggest announcement set to be the brand new trailer for Silent Hill: Townfall – planned to be shown off during Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live presentation.

In terms of games, the only other title being showcased is Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, with attendees being given https://www.konami.com/games/eu/en/topics/19215/the chance to have hands-on with the first new entry in this series in over a decade.

Regardless, both Silent Hill: Townfall and Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse will be in the hands of all players soon enough, with the former set to launch on the 24th of September, and the latter coming just a few weeks later on the 15th of October.

Summer Game Fest 2026 gets official premiere date and time

Summer Game Fest has pretty much become the de facto video game event of the season, with Geoff Keighley’s annual showcase growing every single year – amassing over 50 million viewers during 2025’s presentation. With 2026’s edition almost exactly one month away, Keighley and co. have now confirmed an official premiere date and time for “what’s next in video games.”

Releasing a teaser trailer comprised primarily of games which have released over the course of 2026 so far (while also teasing a number of upcoming titles), Geoff Keighley officially confirmed that this year’s edition of Summer Game Fest will go live on the 5th of June at 9PM GMT.

As mentioned, the trailer mainly focused on games which have already been released. That said, the video did include snippets from a number of upcoming titles, including Lara Croft’s Tomb Raider; 007 First Light; LEGO Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight; Star Wars: Galactic Racer and more.

Like always, expect Keighley to continue teasing their Summer Game Fest announcements over the coming weeks as we step closer towards the event’s official premiere date. It will be interesting to learn exactly how long this year’s edition will wind up being.
