Intel Razor Lake-AX detailed in new rumor

15 May 2026 at 15:30

New rumors suggest that Intel's upcoming β€œRazor Lake-AX” processors will utilise on-package memory and high-core-count integrated graphics. If confirmed, this would mark a strategic shift for Intel, which previously stated that the on-package memory design seen in Lunar Lake (Core Ultra 200V) was a β€œone-off” due to cost and margin complexities.

According to Jaykihn (via VideoCardz), Razor Lake-AX is being designed as a high-performance APU featuring two primary GPU configurations: 16 or 32 Xe3 cores. While these core counts are substantial, they fall short of the 48-core Xe setup previously rumoured for the now-uncertain Nova Lake-AX project.

As for the on-package memory design, the report is from Haze (via VideoCardz). The decision to return to on-package memory could be due to the bandwidth requirements of a 32-core iGPU. Integrating LPDDR5X or a similar high-speed memory directly onto the package would help minimise latency and maximise throughput, thereby improving overall performance.

Razor Lake-AX is expected to use the BGA4326 socket, indicating it is not a standard desktop product but rather a specialised solution (e.g., high-end laptops, small-form-factor workstations, or handhelds).

As it stands, Intel's Razor Lake-AX is positioned as Intel's response to β€œHalo-class” products, such as AMD's Strix/Medusa Halo APUs and Apple's M-Series Pro/Max silicon. A release is not expected until late 2027 at the earliest, placing it in direct competition with AMD's next-generation architectures and Apple's future M-series iterations.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru says: Do you think Intel Razor Lake can stand toe-to-toe with what AMD and Apple are preparing as their next-generation Halo and M-series Pro silicon?

Intel Resurrects On-Package Memory With Razor Lake-AX, Loading Up LPDDR6 to Hunt Down AMD’s Medusa Halo by 2028

Intel Resurrects On-Package Memory With Razor Lake-AX, Loading Up LPDDR6 to Hunt Down AMD's Medusa Halo by 2028

Intel's next-generation Razor Lake-AX chips will compete directly against AMD's Medusa Halo while featuring on-package memory. Intel Is Bringing Back On-Package Memory With Its Next-Gen Razor Lake-AX Chips That Fight Against AMD's Medusa Halo On-Package Memory was last used by Intel for its Lunar Lake SoCs. These SoCs were aimed at low-power mobile platforms, and while the chips themselves offered solid performance in a 30W budget, Intel's next on-package memory solution will be a big one. As per Haze2K1 on X, Intel Razor Lake-AX SoCs will feature on-package memory. This is a big deal as moving the DRAM closer to […]

Intel Nova Lake CPUs will feature Xe3 graphics and not Xe4 as previously expected, but will offer Xe3P Media & Display engines. Intel Nova Lake CPUs Combine Xe3 & Xe3P Graphics Capabilities, Not Going Xe4 Last year, it was reported that Intel's Nova Lake CPUs would leverage a hybrid GPU architecture approach, combining Xe3 with Xe4, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. As per the latest update by Jaykihn, it looks like Intel will rely on its Xe3 and Xe3P graphics architectures for Nova Lake CPUs. The two architectures are different, but they are also used for […]

Xbox Games Showcase returns in June followed by Gears E-Day Direct

30 March 2026 at 15:30

Microsoft has confirmed its plans for the summer Xbox Games Showcase. There will once again be a day of announcements in June, followed by a special Direct presentation on Gears E-Day, the latest game in the Gears of War franchise.Β

The showcase, announced by newly appointed Xbox CEO, Asha Sharma, will happen on June 7th starting at 10AM PT. As this is the summer showcase, most featured games are likely to be kept secret until the event happens, but at the very least, Gears E-Day will be a major focus this Summer.

Xbox has a big year ahead for first-party content. The year began with the latest expansion for World of Warcraft and will end with the latest game in the Call of Duty franchise. In between all of that, Microsoft is slotting in Forza Horizon 6, Halo: Campaign Evolved, Fable and Gears E-Day.

Other long-announced games like State of Decay 3 or Clockwork Revolution could also feasably get an update, although with how busy the release calendar is already, I wouldn't be surprised if both of those games were saved for next year.

KitGuru Says: Is there anything you are hoping to see during the Xbox showcase this year?Β
