Assassin’s Creed Hexe Could Arrive in Late 2027 as Development Continues

Assassin’s Creed fans may have to wait a little longer for the next main game. A new rumor now claims that Assassin’s Creed Hexe is expected to launch in the second half of 2027 at the earliest.

The latest information comes from gaming insider NateTheHate2, who shared on X that the game is now likely targeting a later release than earlier rumors suggested. Previous reports pointed to a possible June 2027 launch, but that no longer appears to be the expected window.

While the insider did not share any detailed evidence, the timing does make sense. Ubisoft is still supporting Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and the game will not be very old by the middle of 2027. Because of that, there may be no reason for the company to rush the next main entry in the series.

Assassin’s Creed Hexe is one of several Assassin’s Creed games currently in development. Rumors also suggest that Ubisoft is working on a remake of the original Assassin’s Creed. That remake is expected to launch after the recently announced Assassin’s Creed Black Flag: Resynced, which could mean it arrives before Hexe.

Ubisoft has not officially confirmed a release date for Assassin’s Creed Hexe. Until the company shares more details, fans should treat these reports as rumors rather than confirmed information. However, if the latest claims are correct, players can still look forward to more Assassin’s Creed games before Hexe finally arrives.

A witchcraft symbol made of twigs and rope hangs in a dark, eerie forest setting.

There's something in the water about Assassin's Creed Hexe. Barely two months ago, it was the project that was showing major promise and the one that "everyone at Ubisoft wants to work on," according to insider reports. Amidst the company's turmoil of the "major reset" it underwent to start 2026, Hexe seemed like one of the bright spots for the company's future. Well, that has quickly changed after it lost two major creative leads and is now losing another 50 developers while also getting pushed out of its previous 2026 release window into a potentially late 2027 release window. This […]

Ubisoft has provided a major update on what's coming next in the Assassin's Creed franchise as we near the one-year anniversary of its last major release, Assassin's Creed Shadows. Firstly, we can finally stop calling the Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake a 'rumoured' game, because Ubisoft has finally officially confirmed the remake to be on its way and that it is indeed titled 'Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced,' which was the title that leaked in December 2025. In a blog post on the official Ubisoft website titled 'Assassin's Creed: Into 2026,' recently named head of AC content, Jean Guesdon, appears […]

Yesterday, we learned that Clint Hocking, the creative director on Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Far Cry 2, Watch Dogs: Legion, and most recently, the creative director behind the upcoming Assassin's Creed Hexe, had left Ubisoft. The newly named head of content for Assassin's Creed and former Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag creative director, Jean Guesdon, is stepping in to fill his role on the project, which, according to a reliable Ubisoft insider, is showing a lot of promise within Ubisoft. Ubisoft has seemingly lost another one of its veteran developers as part of its ongoing organizational restructuring following the company's announcement of a "major reset" last month. After learning who would be taking charge of the Assassin's Creed franchise going forward in its new structure yesterday, today we've learned that Clint Hocking, a Ubisoft veteran who was the creative director on Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Far Cry 2, Watch Dogs: Legion, and most recently the creative director on the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Hexe project, has left the company. VGC initially reported Hocking's departure, and when we reached out to Ubisoft […]
