BIWIN Claims Better Gaming Performance
BIWIN tested the DW100 memory using an AMD Ryzen 5 9600X processor paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card.
The tests were performed at 1080p with low graphics settings. This type of setup puts more pressure on the CPU and memory subsystem, making memory performance easier to measure.
According to BIWINβs first-party testing, the system saw the following results:

A higher average FPS does not always mean a game feels smoother. Sudden drops in frame rate can cause noticeable stutter, especially during busy scenes.
This is where BIWINβs focus on memory timings becomes interesting. By tightening secondary timings alongside the DDR5 6000 speed, the company is targeting better memory responsiveness rather than simply increasing the advertised frequency.
That could help reduce performance dips in CPU-limited games, although independent testing will be needed to see how much of the claimed improvement carries over to a wider range of systems.

Exceleramβs VP of Product, Steffen Eisenstein, has shared a detailed breakdown of the ongoing RAM shortage, warning that the industry is still only at the beginning of the crisis. According to Eisenstein, the AI boom has pushed memory inventories to their limits, and securing DRAM has become harder than ever.
Eisenstein says the situation began far earlier than many realised. βFor us as a RAM manufacturer, the crisis began as early as the fourth quarter of 2025,β he explains. βIn October last year, we saw DRAM prices rise sharply for the first time, the price jumps at the time were already extreme.β As partners recognised the looming shortage, Exceleram saw larger orders and depleted inventories while new DRAM became increasingly expensive.
Even for longβstanding manufacturers, the current environment is unusual. βIt has never been this difficult to secure DRAM,β Eisenstein says. Major suppliers saw record stockβmarket gains, and in December 2025, Micron officially withdrew from the consumer RAM and SSD market. Meanwhile, mediumβsized companies struggled to keep PC assembly profitable. βHigh RAM prices are making cost calculations difficult,β he notes, with some partners abandoning the segment entirely.
By early 2026, analysts and media outlets were openly referring to a βmemory crisisβ. Exceleramβs inventories were empty, production costs were high, and demand collapsed. βWe even canceled our Computex booth because under these circumstances, it did not make sense to find new resellers,β Eisenstein says. Supply delays followed, and while production continued for existing partners, sales dropped sharply.
Demand began to recover slightly in Q2 and Q3, but the underlying issues remained. Eisenstein recalls a conversation with a journalist who told him: βPeople have accepted that RAM has become more expensive and is not going to get cheaper again.β Even so, he warns that high prices have led to lower demand and tighter competition, with margins far smaller than they appear.
The most concerning development, according to Eisenstein, is that the crisis is still escalating. βIn some cases, we have not received any offers for the chips we need for weeks,β he writes, adding that supply security is deteriorating to the point where it is slowing down the development of new consumer hardware. βThat is the uncomfortable truth: The RAM crisis is far from over. It may have only just begun.β

That's not to say that prices might fluctuate back down in a day or two, but generally the traffic is only moving in one direction.
You can buy 32GB of DDR5 RAM at slower speeds for less β this Corsair Vengeance DDR5 4800 is"just" $359 β but good RAM is now harder (and more expensive) to come by than ever before.
According to data from PCPartPicker, this particular 32GB DDR5 6000 kit from Corsair has been as little as $80 in years gone by at Newegg, marking a full 400% price increase on the lowest we've ever seen on this model.
All signs point to the memory shortage, and thereby pricing, getting worse in the coming months. As such, bundles and pre-built PCs remain one of the only ways to insulate yourself from cost increases if you're in the market for new hardware. As mentioned, slower memory speeds are available at lower prices, but compromising for 4,800 MT/s RAM to save $40 when building a PC is an extremely tough state of affairs.

Over the same period, the cheapest 128GB DDR5-6400 kit tracked by Tom's Hardware has reached $3,399, ten times its record low pricing. The Thales 2026 Bad Bot Report puts bad bots at 40% of all web traffic, less than half the share Segura reports on DDR5 listings.
DataDome's March report documented a single operation that generated more than 10 million blocked requests, with a one-hour sample showing 91 DDR5 listings each polled around 551 times, or once every 6.5 seconds. The requests carried cache-busting parameters to defeat cached stock data and targeted industrial module makers such as Micron and Apacer, as well as DIMM socket suppliers Amphenol and TE Connectivity, alongside consumer brands.
Segura wrote on LinkedIn that retailers carrying memory should assume their "traffic analytics are probably understating the problem significantly."

Keep in mind that the 91% figure comes from one unnamed retailer, and DataDome hasn't published a sample window or its methodology. DataDome also sells the product that blocks this traffic, and page requests ultimately aren't purchases, so the ratio measures monitoring pressure on listings rather than how much stock bots actually end up securing, which canβt easily be quantified.
Apacer CEO C.K. Chang said in July that DRAM supply to independent module makers could fall to 30% of 2026 levels next year, and TrendForce expects conventional DRAM contract prices to rise another 13% to 18% in Q3 after roughly 60% in Q2. Hyperscale buyers have reportedly placed deposits against most of 2027's DRAM output.
A 32GB DDR5-6000 kit that averaged $72 this time last year now averages $392 on PCPartPicker. While graphics card and console scalping in 2020 and 2021 ran against scheduled restocks that eventually outpaced resale demand, no equivalent restock date exists for consumer DDR5 before 2027 at the earliest.
Framework stopped selling standalone RAM in November last year, citing scalpers, and Micro Center sells its CPU, motherboard, and 32GB DDR5 bundles in-store only with a one-per-household limit. Newegg and Amazon have run repeated CPU-plus-memory bundles that price a 32GB kit well below its standalone cost, which ties each kit to a processor a reseller then has to move as well. On eBay, we found G.Skill's Trident Z5 Neo 32GB kit listed at $836.54 in December against a $429.99 retail price, roughly double, and about seven times the $117.99 it sold for before the shortage.
