Alien: Isolation 2 Hands-On: The Xenomorph Snatched Me Just Steps From the Exit, and I’d Do It Again

11 June 2026 at 15:00

A menacing alien Xenomorph creature from the game 'Alien: Isolation 2' is seen alongside a green-lit motion tracker on the ground.

Has it really been almost twelve years since the first Alien: Isolation? Players were eager to take a risk on Creative Assembly, a studio that was known almost exclusively for the Total War franchise for the better part of a decade before the project’s announcement. Shifting into first-person survival horror couldn’t have been more of a shift from the English studio’s prior works, but it was something the franchise desperately needed, and the Metacritic scores were unanimously positive while admitting it wasn’t quite a perfect experience. Our playable slice of Alien: Isolation 2, just unveiled at Summer Game Fest 2026, […]

Alien: Isolation 2 Promises a Smarter Xenomorph and Slimmer Survival Odds on a Remote, Storm-Ravaged Weyland-Yutani Outpost

6 June 2026 at 09:00

A motion tracker lies on the ground in the rain, with a glowing green screen, under the title 'Alien Isolation 2'.

At long last, after years of rumors, Summer Game Fest 2026 delivered the reveal of Alien: Isolation 2. The game was confirmed to be in early development in October 2024, but now we've got an actual trailer. Alien: Isolation 2 features a brand-new setting, story, and protagonist. Sega begins teasing Alien Isolation 2

27 April 2026 at 13:45

Sega confirmed plans to finally return to Alien Isolation around the first game's ten-year anniversary. Things have gone quiet since then but just this week, the publisher uploaded a new teaser trailer, indicating more news is coming soon.Β

The trailer, titled β€œFalse Sense of Security”, is a simple teaser with just 30 seconds of dark footage of a space station door unlocking, followed by a close-up short of one of the emergency save stations that players will recognise from the first game.

This teaser obviously doesn't reveal much, we don't even get a look at the Xenomorph. However, it does indicate that Creative Assembly is nearing a point of a big reveal.

While the original Alien Isolation was built using Creative Assembly's own in-house engine, this time around, the development team has switched to Unreal Engine 5. In theory this should help speed up production as there is a broader selection of talent familiar with UE5 and its tools, whereas proprietary in-house software can have all kinds of weird quirks that new hires won't be aware of.

KitGuru Says: Do you think Alien Isolation 2 will end up dropping this year?Β
