Building a high-end AI workstation with several powerful GPUs can create a serious power problem. SilverStone now has an answer with its new SilverStone HELA 3000Rz, a huge 3000W power supply designed for demanding AI inferencing systems.

The new PSU follows the standard ATX PS/2 form factor, so it can fit into systems designed around the common ATX PSU layout. Its main goal is to provide enough power for workstations running up to four high-end graphics cards.

3000W of Continuous Power

The biggest feature of the HELA 3000Rz is its 3000W continuous power output. That gives it enough headroom for systems where multiple GPUs are working at the same time.

SilverStone rates the unit at 80 Plus Platinum efficiency when operating from 230V AC. The PSU also uses a single +12V rail capable of delivering up to 250A, making it suitable for hardware that can place a very heavy load on the power supply.

For AI workstation users, this kind of capacity is important because modern high-end GPUs can demand a lot of power, especially during sustained workloads.

Four 600W GPU Power Connectors

SilverStone has equipped the HELA 3000Rz with a large selection of power connectors. The PSU includes four 12V-2×6 connectors, with each capable of delivering up to 600W.

The full connector setup includes:

• 4 x 4+4-pin EPS
• 8 x 6+2-pin PCIe
• 8 x SATA

This gives builders plenty of options when putting together a workstation with multiple GPUs, CPUs, storage drives and other hardware.

Built With Protection Features

A 3000W PSU needs to deal with very high electrical loads, so SilverStone has included several standard protection features.

The HELA 3000Rz supports protection against over-voltage, under-voltage, overload, overheating and short circuits. It also features active PFC for improved power handling.

Cooling is handled by a 140mm dual ball-bearing fan, which is designed to keep the PSU operating under heavy loads.

SilverStone has priced the HELA 3000Rz at $819.99 in the US. The North American version also comes with a C19 to NEMA 6-20 power cord, allowing the PSU to draw up to 3.75 kVA from the wall.

With its 3000W output and four high-power 12V-2×6 connections, the HELA 3000Rz is clearly aimed at users building serious AI workstations rather than regular desktop PCs.

For a four-GPU system, having this much power available can make the PSU one less limitation to worry about.

Following on from a reveal at Computex earlier this year, SilverStone has detailed the Hela 3000Rz. This new high-end power supply is built in a 200mm form factor, featuring an 80 Plus Platinum efficiency rating, designed for heavy-duty systems and continuous 24/7 operation.

To cool the Hela 3000Rz, SilverStone (via ITHome) equipped the unit with a 140mm twelve-pole fan using double ball bearings. Operating at around 400rpm below 30% load, fan speeds scale up to nearly 3000rpm at maximum output. Rather than focusing on silent operation, SilverStone prioritises 24/7 stability and incorporates OCP, OVP, OPP, SCP, and OTP hardware protections.

The massive power supply weighs 4.57kg and is built for powerful multi-GPU setups through its four included 12V-2×6 connectors, accompanied by eight PCIe 6+2 connectors, four EPS 4+4 cables, and a single ATX 20+4-pin main lead. For storage like HDDs and older SSDs, there are eight SATA connectors, as well as four Molex plugs – that last one is a true blast from the past.

SilverStone notes that the included 13A cable for the UK market will limit maximum output to 2600W. However, users can use a higher-current-rated power cord to achieve the full 3000W output.

KitGuru says: SilverStone's HELA 3000Rz delivers extreme capacity, though its massive 200mm physical footprint limits its use to larger cases.
