Samsung rolls out One UI 9 (Android 17) beta in UK

13 May 2026 at 14:00

If you are looking forward to the next One UI update, then there is some good news. You can get your hands on it early starting today through the Samsung Beta program on Galaxy S26 series devices.

One UI 9 is built on Android 17 and some features won't debut until the next generation Galaxy devices hit the market later this year. However, in the meantime, there are plenty of new features for Galaxy S26 owners to try out before the full public release.

The One UI 9 beta introduces several updates across key areas of the mobile experience. Samsung Notes gains a wider variety of pen line styles, while the Contacts app now links with Creative Studio, allowing you to create personalised contact cards without switching apps. The new version also contains security enhancements to further protect against suspicious apps and threats.

The updated Quick Panel gives users greater control over its layout. Brightness, sound and media player are each independently adjustable, with more size options to suit individual preferences. Accessibility is also improved by an adjustable Mouse Key speed that enables smoother cursor control and a combined TalkBack package that brings together features previously offered separately by Google and Samsung. Text Spotlight can also be used to magnify highlighted text to make reading easier.

The One UI 9 beta program is available to sign up to now via the Samsung Members app for anyone with a Galaxy S26 series device, just as long as you are in one of the supported markets. The UK is part of the beta programme.

Samsung Resorting To Gimmicks To Inflate The Sales Of Its Newer Flagships Even Though The Galaxy S26 Series Is Doing Fairly Good

10 April 2026 at 17:48

Amazon is offering up to a $30 gift card if you pre-order the Galaxy Buds4 or Galaxy Buds4 Pro

As endearing as Samsung is, it has a weird knack for tarnishing its image by artificially gating some features so as to nudge its customer base towards newer offerings. In doing so, the South Korean behemoth not only reeks of desperation but also risks alienating some of its most loyal customers. Samsung is perplexingly gating Buds 4 Pro's Super Wideband speech, excluding the S24 series, when the underlying hardware support exists One of the features of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro is its Super Wideband speech, which doubles the standard Bluetooth call bandwidth from 8kHz to 16kHz, resulting in […]

Galaxy S26 FE Is Up To 33% Slower Than Exynos 2600-Powered Galaxy S26 In Benchmark Leak, Highlighting Samsung’s Lack Of Interest In This Lineup

3 April 2026 at 20:57

Galaxy S26 FE with an Exynos 2500 is much slower than the Exynos 2600

The ‘price to performance’ devices marketed under the Galaxy S FE banner were Samsung’s attractive offerings to the masses, allowing them to obtain a highly premium smartphone without spending flagship-level funds. It’s this approach that enabled the Korean giant to ship more than 10 million Galaxy S20 FE units in 2021, but somewhere down the road, Samsung lost its footing and hasn’t recovered since. A fresh benchmark leak shows the upcoming Galaxy S26 FE sporting an underwhelming SoC that’s up to 33 percent slower than the Exynos 2600-powered Galaxy S26, along with other disappointing specifications. The Exynos 2600 would have been […]

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-Powered Galaxy S26 Lasts For 28% Longer Than Exynos 2600 Version, A Difference Of A Staggering 2 hours & 38 Minutes

29 March 2026 at 04:03

Galaxy S26 with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 outpaces the Exynos 2600 version in battery life

Samsung has once more been proven incorrect as its false claims of the 2nm GAA process have been highlighted in a new smartphone battery drain test, where the Exynos 2600 version of the Galaxy S26 is pitted against the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 variant. While both handsets are exactly the same in all areas, it is the runtime that records a massive difference of 2 hours and 38 minutes, according to one YouTuber’s testing. Strenuous tasks performed on the Exynos 2600, such as video encoding, result in overheating and faster battery drain The two Galaxy S26 models were tested as fairly […]

Samsung Is Now Allowing Users In A Key Market To Use The Galaxy S26 Series For A Year By Paying Just 50 Percent Of The Price

18 March 2026 at 14:54

Three Samsung Galaxy smartphones in different colors are displayed on stands, showcasing their rear camera designs.

Samsung Mobile is on the brink of an operating loss as it continues to get hammered by the ongoing memory 'chipflation' as well as the logistical mayhem emanating from the ongoing Iran war. It is, therefore, hardly a surprise that the South Korean behemoth's mobile-focused unit appears to be throwing everything, including the proverbial kitchen sink, to keep the sales cadence for the new Galaxy S26 series elevated. To that end, Samsung has just launched a very lucrative scheme in a key market. Samsung fans in India can now get their hands on the Galaxy S26 series for a year […]

The Unoptimized Tensor G5: The Smaller Battery In Samsung Galaxy S26 Lasts 3 Hours Longer Than The One In Pixel 10 Pro XL

15 March 2026 at 15:03

A close-up image of a 'G5' chip labeled as 'Tensor G5'.

That Google's Tensor G5 is a flawed SoC is no longer a matter of debate. After all, the AP excels at AI-related tasks but falls short of the competition in most other areas. Even so, a new battery endurance test for the Samsung Galaxy S26 has placed the Tensor G5 chip's copious flaws in a stark contrast. Behold the beleaguered battery endurance of Google's Pixel 10 Pro XL vs. Samsung's Galaxy S26, as the chronically unoptimized Tensor G5 takes its proverbial pound of flesh For the benefit of those who might not be aware, Google's Tensor G5 bears the following […]

The Galaxy S26 Series’ Sales Are Pulling Ahead Of The S25 Lineup’s, Incentivizing Samsung’s Laziness

6 March 2026 at 17:58

Galaxy S26 review roundup

Despite putting forth what is largely an iterative update with the new Galaxy S26 series, Samsung appears to be raking in higher sales relative to the last year's Galaxy S25 series, at least as per initial impressions. Should this trend continue, however, it risks rewarding complacency, one that might feasibly result in progressively less competitive offerings from Samsung further down the line. Samsung Galaxy S26 series has recorded a pre-order volume of 1.35 million units in South Korea so far Samsung has now revealed that its initial pre-order volume for the new Galaxy S26 series stands at 1.35 million units […]

Samsung reveals powerful Galaxy S26 series with smarter AI and stronger privacy

By: Bahleem
26 February 2026 at 12:13

Samsung Electronics has officially announced the new Galaxy S26 lineup, calling it the most intuitive Galaxy AI phone so far. The series includes Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung says the new phones are built to make daily tasks easier by letting Galaxy AI work quietly in the background, reducing the steps needed to get things done.

The Galaxy S26 series brings together fast performance, advanced cameras and AI features in one smooth experience. Samsung also highlights strong privacy and security, saying users can depend on the phone all day without worrying about personal data.

Samsung Galaxy S26 5

All models are powered by a customised chipset designed for better AI performance, power efficiency and stable use. The Galaxy S26 Ultra uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, which offers faster CPU, GPU and AI processing. Samsung says the phone feels quicker when multitasking, gaming or using AI features. To keep temperatures under control, the S26 Ultra includes a redesigned vapor chamber for improved cooling. Super Fast Charging 3.0 is also included, allowing the phone to reach up to 75 percent charge in around 30 minutes.

Samsung Galaxy S26 3

Samsung has also improved visual quality through built-in technologies that sharpen details, improve colours and make photos and videos look more natural on the display. These changes are designed to make everyday use feel smooth and effortless.

The camera system remains a major focus. The Galaxy S26 Ultra uses wider camera apertures to capture more light, helping deliver clearer photos in low-light conditions. Night video recording is improved, and Super Steady video now offers better stability during movement. The phone also supports a new professional-grade video format aimed at creators who want high-quality footage that stays clear even after editing. The selfie camera benefits from AI upgrades as well, producing more natural skin tones and better detail.

Photo and video editing is made simpler with AI tools built into the Gallery. Users can describe changes in simple words, such as fixing lighting, removing unwanted objects or adjusting small details. Edits can be reviewed step by step and undone easily, making the process feel natural and stress-free.

Samsung Galaxy S26 2

Galaxy AI on the S26 series is more proactive and personalised. Features like Now Nudge and Now Brief offer helpful suggestions at the right time, such as sharing recent photos, checking calendar conflicts or reminding users about upcoming plans. Searching is also improved with an upgraded Circle to Search with Google, which can recognise multiple objects in one image. Bixby has been improved to better understand natural language, making it easier to control the phone without learning specific commands. Users can also choose between AI agents like Gemini and Perplexity to complete tasks across apps using simple voice or button actions.

Privacy and security are key highlights of the Galaxy S26 series. The Galaxy S26 Ultra introduces a built-in Privacy Display that limits side viewing angles, helping keep screen content private in public places without lowering display quality for the user. Samsung has also added smarter call screening, real-time privacy alerts, a Private Album in Gallery, and stronger encryption through Samsung Knox. The company confirms that the Galaxy S26 series will receive seven years of security updates.

Galaxy S26 lineup availability

The Galaxy S26, S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra will be available for pre-order starting February 25. The phones share a unified design and come in colours like Cobalt Violet, White, Black and Sky Blue, with exclusive colours available on Samsung’s official website. Samsung Care+ is also offered for users who want extra protection and support.

26 February 2026 at 01:51

Exynos 2600 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 benchmarks of the Galaxy S26 have been posted

A truckload of benchmark leaks surrounding the Exynos 2600 gave us a sliver of hope for Samsung’s first 2nm GAA chipset, and it should have already been known that the SoC would be compared against Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 shortly after the Galaxy S26 series went official. Well, here’s your first synthetic performance results comparison, where both silicon have been tested using Geekbench 6’s single-core, multi-core, and OpenCL benchmarks, with the Exynos 2600 possessing a faster GPU, but slower CPU.
