New Razer Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed earbuds bring low-latency audio to consoles

10 July 2026 at 07:30

Razer has announced the Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed wireless gaming earbuds for Xbox and PlayStation. The new multi-platform earbuds combine 2.4GHz HyperSpeed wireless connectivity with Bluetooth 5.3 to deliver low-latency audio across consoles, PC, handhelds, and mobile devices.

Razer builds the earbuds around its HyperSpeed Case, which functions as both a 2.4GHz wireless receiver and a portable charging dock. This, alongside Razer SmartSwitch Dual Wireless, allows players to switch between the 2.4GHz connection and Bluetooth 5.3 without interrupting any gaming sessions.

According to the manufacturer, the earbuds deliver up to 10 hours of playback on a single charge, with the bundled case providing an additional 25 hours for a total of 35 hours of battery life. Razer also integrates platform-specific spatial audio support, offering Windows Sonic on Xbox, 3D Audio on PlayStation, and THX Spatial Audio on PC. Physical features include built-in touch controls and an IPX4 water-resistant rating.

The first retail listings for the new Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed variants suggest the Xbox variant will be slightly cheaper, priced around €100. As for the PlayStation variant, this one can be found for Β£100/€110.

KitGuru says: Offering dedicated console variants with dual-wireless switching makes the Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed a versatile choice for players moving between console, PC, and mobile gaming.

New Razer Hammerhead V3 HyperSpeed includes integrated dongle charging case

13 April 2026 at 13:00

Razer has announced the Hammerhead V3 HyperSpeed gaming earbuds, featuring dual-mode connectivity via 2.4GHz HyperSpeed Wireless and Bluetooth 6.0. The new model introduces a redesigned charging case that houses the wireless dongle and supports simultaneous playing and charging when connected via USB-C.

The Hammerhead V3 Hyper Speed earbuds use Razer HyperSpeed Wireless for low-latency audio on compatible PCs and handheld devices. A SmartSwitch feature allows users to toggle between the 2.4GHz connection and Bluetooth 6.0, which Razer claims offers improved power efficiency and stability in wireless environments. The included HyperSpeed case acts as both a charger and a wireless receiver when the USB-C dongle is seated inside.

Razer has equipped the Hammerhead V3 HyperSpeed with Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation, which the company states provides a 50% improvement in noise reduction over the previous generation. For PC users, the earbuds support THX Spatial Audio via Razer Synapse 4, which provides a virtual 7.1 soundstage for enhanced positional awareness.

Total battery life is rated at up to 40 hours, with 10 hours provided by the earbuds and an additional 30 hours from the charging case. The hardware includes touch controls for playback and calls, while an LED status indicator on the case displays charging and connection states. Further customisation of the audio profile and controls can be done through the Razer Audio App and Razer Synapse 4.

Razer has introduced a fresh White Edition of its popular BlackShark V3 X HyperSpeed headset for both Xbox and PlayStation consoles. The new colour gives the headset a clean and modern look while keeping the same strong performance the BlackShark series is known for.

The new version is designed to match modern gaming setups, especially white console builds. It keeps the well-known aviation-style design that many players already recognise, but now with a bright and stylish finish.

The BlackShark V3 X HyperSpeed headset uses Razer’s TriForce 50 mm Drivers Gen-2. These drivers are built to deliver clear sound with balanced highs, mids, and bass. This helps players hear important game sounds such as footsteps, reloads, and distant action more clearly. Better sound direction can also help players react faster during competitive games.

Comfort is another key part of the design. The headset weighs about 270 grams, making it light enough for long gaming sessions. Soft and breathable ear cushions help reduce pressure on the ears, while the ergonomic frame keeps the headset stable during play.

For wireless connection, the BlackShark V3 X HyperSpeed headset uses low-latency 2.4 GHz wireless technology. This keeps the audio in sync with the action on the screen. It also supports SmartSwitch Dual Wireless, allowing users to quickly move between 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth. This means players can switch from console gaming to a phone call or other device without needing to reconnect everything.

Communication is handled by a detachable HyperClear cardioid microphone. The microphone is designed to capture the player’s voice clearly while reducing background noise. This makes team chat easier during online matches.

Battery life is also strong. The headset can run up to 48 hours on consoles and up to 70 hours when used with a PC. If the battery runs low, a quick 15-minute charge can provide around 6 hours of playtime.

With Razer BlackShark V3 X HyperSpeed headset’s clean white design, light build, and long battery life, the new headset aims to offer both style and strong performance for console players.
