RGG Studio’s Stranger Than Heaven officially arrives some time “This Winter”

8 May 2026 at 11:30

First teased back during 2024’s The Game Awards, Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) studio – known best for their work on the Like a Dragon (Yakuza) series – unveiled Project Century: a brand new IP from the team. Since revealed to be officially titled ‘Stranger Than Heaven’ the team have now confirmed that this much-anticipated title will arrive some time “This Winter.”

Making the announcement as part of their recent ‘Xbox Presents: A Special Look at Stranger Than Heaven’ showcase, RGG Studio delved into a wide range of topics from the game’s plot to its combat; mini games and more.

Alongside a ton of new details, the team also offered a first proper release date of sorts: confirming that Stranger Than Heaven will officially arrive sometime “This Winter.”

While we unfortunately did not get a concrete date (meaning the title could arrive as late as March 2027), RGG Studio confirmed that when it does arrive it’ll be available day-one on Xbox Game Pass.

As mentioned, the team covered a ton of details including Stranger Than Heaven’s multiple locations; time periods; ties to Like a Dragon and more. The full 30-minute presentation can be found HERE.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance to receive SEGA-themed DLC alongside major free update next month

19 March 2026 at 12:00

In recent years SEGA has been reaching back into its legacy IPs, reviving them in new and exciting ways. One of their most recent successes has been Shinobi: Art of Vengeance. Following its arrival last year, SEGA have now unveiled a surprising DLC featuring some recognisable faces alongside the promise of a major free update.

Releasing the surprise trailer, the team at SEGA officially unveiled their ‘SEGA Villains Stage DLC’. Set to launch on the 3rd of April, this DLC brings in a bunch of iconic SEGA villains from across the years into Art of Vengeance, including Majima from Yakuza; Death Adder from Golden Axe and – last but certainly not least – Dr. Eggman himself.

Featuring 3 new bosses; 5 stages; 2 new boss rush modes; 3 additional ninpo and more, this DLC looks to be a fun time for both fans of Shinobi but also SEGA as a whole.

As mentioned, alongside the DLC, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is also set to receive a free update on the same day, adding:

  • A new hardcore mode
  • Combat system adjustments
  • Character outline updates and other QoL features

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance was one of SEGA’s more underappreciated releases from the past year, and so hopefully introducing a DLC as unexpected as this helps to attract more eyes to the game. We will have to wait and see when the SEGA Villains Stage DLC arrives early next month.

KitGuru says: What do you think of this announcement? Were you expecting a crossover? Who do you believe is the most iconic SEGA villain of all time (other than Dr. Eggman)? Let us know down below.
