GeIL Breaks The DDR5 Overclocking Barrier With Spear V, Pushing 8000 MT/s Under Official JEDEC Specs Without Touching The BIOS

8 May 2026 at 18:30

A set of GeIL DDR5 SPEAR V memory modules in black, gold, and silver with visible GeIL branding.

Unlike conventional DDR5 memory modules that need to push to 8000 MT/s manually, the GeIL Spear V can reach 8000 MT/s out of the box. GeIL Announces Spear V DDR5 Memory Ahead of Computex, Rated at 8000 MT/s Under Official JEDEC Standards Memory maker, GeIL, has reached a major milestone by achieving what conventionally was possible only through manual overclocking. Since the debut of the DDR5 memory standard, enthusiasts have been trying to push the DDR5 memory speeds beyond the official JEDEC standards, but the new GeIL Spear V DDR5 memory breaks that constraint. With the announcement of Spear V […]

GeIL’s new DDR5 memory offers 8000MT/s speeds without tinkering in the BIOS

7 May 2026 at 16:30

GeIL has introduced what it claims is the first DDR5 memory to run at 8000MT/s entirely through JEDEC SPD, enabling true plug‑and‑play operation without XMP profiles or BIOS tuning.

The new modules embed their full 8000MT/s speed directly into the JEDEC specification, so the complexity of navigating the BIOS is taken out of the equation entirely for the end user. The memory is optimised for the latest Intel systems, including Z890 and B860 motherboards.

GeIL is also expanding its DDR5 lineup with the AQUARIUS Diamond RGB series, featuring a diamond‑cut light bar and aluminium heatsink in Graphite Black or Glacier White. The refractive lighting design aims to create a crystalline effect, something that only one other major memory maker currently does.

We will get a closer look at all of GeIL's new memory products at Computex next month, so expect more news soon.

KitGuru Says: A lot of people do buy high-speed memory and then forget to go into the BIOS to turn on the XMP profile, so it would be nice to see something like this become more common.
