Computex 2026: MSI launches new Claw gaming handheld with Arc G3 Extreme

1 June 2026 at 14:00

At Computex this week, the MSI Laptop team has a bunch to show off. At the top of the list is a new Claw gaming handheld, this time with an upgrade to Intel's new Arc G3 and G3 Extreme processors.Β

The MSI Claw always stood out from the pack for its inclusion of an Intel chip versus something like the popular Ryzen Z1. However, now, Intel has a processor designed specifically with handhelds in mind, the Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme, and MSI is swiftly adopting it.

The MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ is powered by the new Arc G3 Extreme chip, promising Xe graphics with hardware-level support for Ray Tracing and the latest XeSS upscaling features like Multi-Frame Generation. It also has a 120Hz VRR display and as a Windows-based handheld, you'll have no issues with game compatibility, and you'll be able to use the new β€˜Xbox Mode' for a more handheld-friendly game-focused UI.

The Titan 18 HX gaming laptop makes a return, but this time as the Dragon Edition, featuring new artwork to commemorate MSI's 40th anniversary. Under the hood, the laptop is powered by an Inrel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus CPU and an RTX 5090 Laptop GPU.

MSI Also has new Katana series laptops, new MLG Edition laptops and an all-new laptop featuring Nvidia's recently launched RTX Spark hardware.

Acer unveils Predator Atlas 8 gaming handheld powered by Intel Arc G processors

29 May 2026 at 15:00

Yesterday, Intel officially announced its new Arc G Series processors, designed specifically for a new generation of PC gaming handhelds. Now, Acer has revealed itself as one of the first OEMs adopting the new processors, which will ship later this year inside of the new Predator Atlas 8 handheld.

The Predator Atlas 8 is a new Windows‑based gaming handheld built that can be configured with either the new Arc G3 processor, or the more powerful G3 Extreme, mimicking the Ryzen Z line-up. These processors include up to Arc B390-level graphics, along with hardware support for features like ray tracing and XeSS 3 AI upscaling. Through Intel's optimisations, the handheld should offer an excellent balance between performance and power-draw for longer play sessions.

Cooling is handled by Acer’s Predator AeroBlade system, which debuts the first metal fan used in a handheld device. The 89‑blade, 0.1mm‑thick AeroBlade fan works alongside a secondary plastic fan and Vortex Flow internal tuning to improve airflow and maintain sustained performance under load.

The handheld features an 8‑inch WUXGA touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate, VRR, 500‑nit brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC for added durability and reduced glare. Audio comes from dual speakers with DTS:X Ultra, along with a dual-microphone array for comms during multiplayer gaming.

We don't have pricing yet but we expect to see the Predator Atlas 8 up close at Computex. The handhelds are planned to launch in October 2026.

KitGuru Says: It will be interesting to see how Intel's new Arc G processors perform when the time comes.
