This policy covers borecraft.com and its subdomains, including guide.borecraft.com, run by NewMaxx. The short version: I don’t use analytics, ad trackers or tracking cookies, and you can’t create an account or leave comments here. The main thing to know is that some links are affiliate links, and the stores they lead to use their own cookies.
What this site collects
- Server logs. Like nearly every website, my web host automatically records basic request data: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. This is used to keep the site running and secure, not to identify or profile visitors. Site searches are part of the page address, so they appear in these logs like any other page request.
- Short links. Short links such as borecraft.com/spreadsheet redirect without logging your IP address.
- Live data on the SSD guide. Some pages on guide.borecraft.com load data such as current prices from my own services hosted on Cloudflare. As with any web request, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver it.
Cookies and local storage
This site doesn’t set cookies for visitors. WordPress sets cookies only for administrators who log in. If you change the light/dark theme on the SSD guide, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage and never leaves your device.
Affiliate links and third-party cookies
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy something through one, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Other programs include AliExpress and software and hosting companies such as Hawk Host.
When you click an affiliate link, you leave this site. Third parties, including Amazon and other advertisers, may provide content and advertisements, collect information directly from you, and place or recognize cookies on your browser to track referrals. They do this under their own privacy policies.
Other sites
Links to Reddit, Discord, X, Telegram, Substack, Patreon, Google Sheets (the SSD Spreadsheet) and other sites are covered by those sites’ own privacy policies.
What I don’t do
I don’t sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use it to build profiles.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children under 13 and doesn’t knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking third-party cookies won’t affect this site, though it may stop affiliate referrals from being credited. Because this site keeps no accounts or profiles, there’s usually nothing to access or delete, but you can contact me with any privacy question or request.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change too.
