Kensington Unveils Powerful Thunderbolt 5 Dock with Triple 4K Display Support
Kensington has announced the new SD5010T5 EQ Thunderbolt 5 Docking Station, bringing faster connectivity, multi-display support, and powerful charging to professionals who need a simple desktop setup. The new dock is designed to help users connect multiple devices, transfer large files quickly, and power their laptops through a single cable.
The SD5010T5 Thunderbolt 5 Dock is built around Thunderbolt 5 technology and offers up to 80 Gbps of bi-directional bandwidth. For users working with video-heavy tasks, the dock can increase bandwidth to as much as 120 Gbps using Thunderbolt 5’s Bandwidth Boost feature. This makes it suitable for content creators, engineers, and professionals handling large files and demanding applications.

One of the key highlights of the new dock is its display support. Windows users can connect up to three 4K monitors running at 144Hz or two 8K displays at 60Hz through the available HDMI and Thunderbolt 5 ports. MacBook users can also benefit from multi-display support, with newer Apple silicon systems capable of running multiple external screens depending on the chip configuration.
The docking station also provides up to 140W of power delivery through USB-C PD 3.1. This allows users to charge compatible laptops while using connected accessories. Kensington’s KonstantCharge feature can continue charging connected devices even when the laptop is disconnected from the dock.
The SD5010T5 offers a 13-in-1 design that expands laptop connectivity through a single Thunderbolt 5 cable. Available connections include two Thunderbolt 5 ports, two HDMI ports, USB-A and USB-C ports, a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port, audio connectivity, and built-in SD and microSD card readers. These features make it useful for creators, photographers, and video editors who regularly transfer large amounts of data.
Kensington has also focused on compatibility. The dock supports Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, USB4, and USB-C devices running Windows 11 or macOS. Users can simply plug in the dock and start using it without complicated setup procedures.
Additional features include optional mounting accessories for cleaner desk organisation, security lock support, and DockWorks software for Windows users who want to customise performance and connection settings.
The company has also included sustainability improvements. The outer casing is made from 100% post-consumer recycled aluminium, while the packaging is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
Giovanni Sena, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Kensington, said the company designed the SD5010T5 to make Thunderbolt 5 technology practical and accessible while helping users build more productive workspaces.
Ben Hacker, General Manager of Intel’s Client Connectivity Division, added that Thunderbolt 5 provides the bandwidth required for modern AI workloads, high-resolution content creation, and data-intensive applications, with docking stations playing an important role in unlocking the technology’s full potential.
