Microsoft unveils powerful Surface Laptop Ultra for creators and AI developers
Microsoft has officially introduced the new Surface Laptop Ultra, a high-performance laptop designed for creators, developers, engineers, and AI builders. The company says it is the most powerful Surface laptop ever made and is built to handle demanding workloads with ease.
The new laptop was developed in partnership with NVIDIA and combines powerful hardware with a premium design. Microsoft says the device is made for people who work with large projects, advanced AI models, software development, and 3D content creation.
One of the biggest highlights of the Surface Laptop Ultra is its NVIDIA Blackwell RTX graphics processor. The laptop also supports full CUDA capabilities and comes with up to 128GB of unified memory. This allows the system to share memory between the CPU and GPU, helping demanding tasks run more smoothly.

According to Microsoft, the laptop can deliver up to one petaflop of AI performance and is capable of running AI models with up to 120 billion parameters locally. This means creators and developers can work with advanced AI tools directly on the device without relying heavily on cloud services.
Microsoft also focused on efficiency and battery life. The company says the Surface Laptop Ultra can provide all-day battery life while still offering the performance needed for heavy workloads. It is designed to stay quiet even when handling demanding tasks.
The Surface Laptop Ultra features a 15-inch PixelSense Ultra touchscreen with mini-LED technology. The display offers up to 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness, a sharp 262 PPI resolution, and accurate colour reproduction. Microsoft says it is the brightest display ever used in a Surface laptop.

The device includes a large haptic touchpad and a selection of ports aimed at professional users. Available ports include HDMI, USB-C, USB-A, an SD card reader, and a headphone jack. Microsoft says these ports were chosen based on the needs of creators and professionals.
The laptop will be available in two colour options: Platinum and Nightfall. Microsoft also highlighted its focus on durability and repairability, aiming to provide long-term value alongside high performance.

At the time of announcement, Microsoft has not revealed pricing details. The company confirmed that the Surface Laptop Ultra will launch later this year.
With powerful AI capabilities, advanced graphics performance, and a premium design, the Surface Laptop Ultra appears to be one of Microsoftβs most ambitious Surface devices to date.
