Gamdias has launched the Thor P2 Series power supply line, offering up to 1350W of power and featuring 80 Plus Platinum efficiency and compliance with ATX 3.1 and PCIe Gen 5.1 standards.
Available in 850W, 1050W and 1350W, each unit in the series features a fully modular cable layout and a native 12V-2×6 cable rated for up to 600W to power graphics cards. To ensure proper insertion, the 12V-2×6 connector includes a dual-colour design. These units meet ATX 3.1 and PCIe Gen 5.1 standards, supporting up to 3x GPU power excursion and 2x total power excursion during sudden load spikes. Gamdias also equips the lineup with multiple 6+2-pin PCIe connectors for wider GPU compatibility.
Internally, the power supplies use 100% 105°C Japanese capacitors alongside a semi-bridge LLC resonant circuit, full DC-to-DC design, and 12V synchronous rectification. Cooling is handled by a 135mm Fluid Dynamic Bearing fan that supports Smart Silent Mode, allowing zero fan operation under 15–20% system loads. Safety protections cover OVP, UVP, OPP, SCP, OCP, and OTP, while Gamdias backs the series with a 12-year warranty.

One of Microsoft’s big contributions to the video games space back in the day was its achievement system, giving fans new reasons to replay and complete their favourite games. With the advent of the PlayStation Network however, Sony appeared to improve on the formula with its Trophies system – awarding a Platinum Trophy to those who achieve 100% completion. Finally following in its footsteps, CEO Asha Sharma has confirmed a similar system will be coming to Xbox “later this year.”
Part of the strategy engaged by Xbox’s new CEO Asha Sharma has been to try and bring back a sense of magic to the waning brand. From the refreshed logo, to putting a poll on Twitter asking fans whether the company should be called Xbox or XBOX, Sharma has been quick to make surface-level changes across the board.
In another similar move, the CEO recently confirmed that Xbox will be getting its own Platinum Trophy or sorts. Responding to one Twitter user who asked “When you gonna solve the Platinum trophy equivalent with Achievements?” Sharma claimed that the Xbox “Team is working on something for later this year!”
As of now, no further details have been shared, and so it is unknown just how much of an overhaul can be expected. Will they keep their 1000 Gamerscore system, simply awarding those who obtain all achievements a bonus icon? Will the system be entirely revamped with Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond medals? Will this new system work retroactively with older titles? We will have to wait and see.

Asus is upgrading its TUF Gaming power supply lineup with the introduction of the Platinum Series, available in 850W, 1000W, and 1200W capacities. By achieving 80 Plus Platinum certification, these units offer a significant efficiency boost over previous generations.
According to Vortez, these units (850W, 1000W, and 1200W) share the same 8-year warranty as the recently unveiled TUF Gold Evo models. Unlike the ROG Strix or Thor models, the 135mm dual-ball-bearing fan in the TUF Platinum does not feature a 0 RPM mode, ensuring the components, including the TUF 5K metallic capacitors, stay cool even at low loads. Also, a standout technical inclusion is the use of GaN (gallium nitride) MOSFETs, a material typically reserved for server-grade hardware, which reduces heat and improves switching efficiency.
The series is fully compatible with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards. The modular cables feature a premium embossed sheathing that allows for easier routing and tighter bends than standard flat cables. Across all three wattage tiers, the connector count remains consistent, including a 24-pin ATX, two 8-pin (4+4) EPS, three 8-pin (6+2) PCI-E, a 16-pin 12V-2×6, six SATA, and three Molex.
The PSU casing measures 150mm in depth, making it compatible with most modern mid-tower cases while maintaining a subtle, matte aesthetic. KitGuru says: The pricing of these units isn't known, but one can assume they'll be more expensive than the respective Gold (Evo) models but cheaper than the ROG Thor PSUs with the same wattage capacity.
Gigabyte has announced the launch of its Gaming series power supply units, available in 750W, 850W, and 1000W capacities. The units feature T-Guard active thermal monitoring technology that monitors 12V-2×6 connector temperatures. The series carries Cybenetics ETA Platinum and Lambda A+ certifications and is fully compliant with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards.
The T-Guard technology utilises integrated thermistors within the 12V-2×6 connector to provide real-time thermal sensing. According to Gigabyte, the system triggers immediate alerts when it detects overheating caused by loose cables or abnormal loads. In the event of dangerous temperatures, the PSU reduces power specifically to the GPU while maintaining operation for other system components, allowing users to save data before a manual shutdown.
Gigabyte's new series has earned the Cybenetics ETA Platinum and 80 Plus Gold efficiency ratings. Cooling is managed by a 135mm FDB fluid dynamic bearing fan equipped with HybridCool technology, which allows the fan to stop during low-load scenarios for near-silent operation. This configuration has resulted in a Cybenetics Lambda A+ silence certification, translating to an average noise level below 20dB(A).
The Gaming series includes a dual-colour 12V-2×6 cable design intended to provide a visual confirmation of a secure connection through clear colour markings. The units are constructed using 100% Japanese capacitors and are available in both Black and Ice (white) editions. Gigabyte provides a 10-year warranty for the 750W, 850W, and 1000W models.
KitGuru says: It seems thermal monitoring sensors on the PSU side will become standard. After MSI and Asus, it's now Gigabyte that's doing the same to give users some extra peace of mind when they plug in an expensive RTX 50 series GPU.
