PowerColor has announced its new Radeon RX 9050 8GB Reaper graphics card, giving budget gamers another option based on AMD’s latest RDNA 4 graphics architecture. The new graphics card is designed to deliver solid gaming performance while keeping power use low.

The Radeon RX 9050 uses AMD’s Navi 44 GPU built on a 4nm process. It comes with 1,024 stream processors, 32 AI accelerators, and 16 ray tracing accelerators. The card also features 8GB of GDDR6 memory running at 18 Gbps over a 128-bit memory interface.

For cooling, PowerColor has equipped the Radeon RX 9050 8GB Reaper with a large aluminum heatsink, two 80mm cooling fans, and a protective backplate. The simple dual-fan cooler is designed to keep temperatures under control during gaming without making the card bulky.

The graphics card has a Game Clock of 1,920 MHz and can boost up to 2,600 MHz. It has a typical board power of 100W and only needs a single 8-pin PCIe power connector, making it easy to install in many existing desktop systems.

For display connectivity, the card includes two DisplayPort 2.1a ports and one HDMI 2.1b port, allowing users to connect modern gaming monitors and high-resolution displays.

PowerColor has also kept the card compact. It measures 20 cm in length, 10 cm in height, and takes up two expansion slots, making it suitable for many mid-size and smaller PC cases.

The Radeon RX 9050 8GB Reaper is aimed at gamers looking for an affordable graphics card with modern AMD features, efficient cooling, and a compact design. Pricing and availability have not yet been announced.

AMD has released its latest graphics driver, Adrenalin Edition 26.7.1, delivering optimisations ahead of the upcoming multiplayer beta for Gears of War: E‑Day. The new driver also expands FSR 4 support and introduces compatibility for AMD’s newest entry‑level RDNA 4 GPU.

With this update, AMD has put optimisations in place for the Gears of War: E‑Day Open Beta happening in August, ahead of its full launch in early October. The driver also adds FSR 4 support for additional titles, including Out of Control Evolution, continuing AMD’s push to expand adoption of its latest upscaling technology.

Alongside the software improvements, Adrenalin Edition 26.7.1 introduces support for the newly announced Radeon RX 9050 graphics card. Positioned as an affordable RDNA 4 option for APJ and Latin American markets, the RX 9050 launches at an SEP of $279 and brings the latest Radeon feature set to mainstream gamers.

The driver also includes a number of fixes, addressing issues such as model flickering in Cinema 4D and Blender, intermittent crashes with FSR Upscaling 4.1 on Windows 10, and rendering problems with Fortnite’s directional indicators on Radeon RX 7000‑series GPUs. AMD has also listed several known issues, including intermittent crashes or driver timeouts in Battlefield 6 on Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 systems, texture flickering when using Record and Stream, and Smart Access Memory becoming disabled after installation on Windows 10.

ASRock has launched the AMD Radeon RX 9050 Challenger 8GB graphics card. Based on AMD's latest RDNA 4 architecture, the new dual-fan graphics card arrives with 8GB of GDDR6 memory and is heading to system integrators and retail customers across LATAM and Asia Pacific.

Built on the RDNA 4 architecture, the AMD Radeon RX 9050 features up to 16 CUs, 16 ray accelerators based on 3rd Gen Raytracing hardware, and 32 AI accelerators. Supported software features include AMD HYPR-RX and AMD FSR technology, alongside modern hardware standards like DisplayPort 2.1a and PCI Express 5.0 compatibility. ASRock sets the Boost Clock on its Challenger model to up to 2600MHz, while the game clock is set to 1920MHz. That translates into 10.6TFLOPS of FP32 computing performance, which is just slightly above what you can expect from a PS5.

The 8GB of GDDR6 memory is clocked at 18Gbps over a 128-bit memory interface. Moreover, it has 32MB of Infinity Cache. ASRock recommends a 450W PSU for a system featuring its new card, but the card's rated TBP is only 92W.

Cooling is handled by a dual-fan thermal solution incorporating ASRock's Striped Axial Fan design (with 0db operation) and Ultra-fit Heatpipes. Additional hardware features include a metal backplate for structural rigidity and integrated LED indicators.

A new report, citing sources within an AMD AIB partner, indicates that an entry-level Radeon RX 9050 graphics card is in development. The leaked specifications suggest the card will use a Navi 44 GPU with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM. While AMD has not officially confirmed the product, a preliminary spec sheet suggests the card will target a lower-power bracket, with a recommended 450W PSU.

The report from VideoCardz suggests the RX 9050 with 2048 stream processors, a higher count than the 1792 processors currently associated with the RX 9060. However, performance is expected to sit below the RX 9060 due to lower clock speeds, as the RX 9050 reportedly features a game clock of 1920MHz and a boost clock of 2600MHz. These figures represent a 20% reduction in game clocks and a 13% reduction in boost clocks compared to the RX 9060.

Connectivity for the RX 9050 is stated to include a PCIe 5.0 x16 bus interface, one HDMI 2.1b port, and dual DisplayPort 2.1a outputs. Given the 450W PSU recommendation, the card is expected to require at least one external power connector, as its power draw likely exceeds the PCIe slot's 75W limit.

The report states that these specifications are preliminary. It remains uncertain if AMD will disable specific stream processors in the final silicon to maintain a clear performance hierarchy between the 9050 and 9060 models.
