MSI launches powerful Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld with Intel Arc G3 graphics
MSI has officially introduced its new Claw 8 EX AI+ gaming handheld, bringing the latest Intel Arc G3 graphics technology to portable gaming. The new model arrives in a fresh Void Purple colour and is among the first handheld gaming devices powered by Intel’s new Arc G3 Extreme graphics architecture.
The Claw 8 EX AI+ is the successor to the previous Claw 8 AI+ and comes with Intel’s latest Panther Lake processor. The chip features up to 14 CPU cores and 12 Xe3 GPU cores, offering a strong mix of gaming and everyday computing performance. MSI says the handheld is designed to deliver smooth gameplay without the need for an external graphics card.

For visuals, the handheld keeps the same 8-inch display found on the previous model. It features a Full HD+ resolution, a refresh rate that ranges from 48Hz to 120Hz, and support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). The display can reach up to 500 nits of brightness, making it easier to use in bright environments while still providing good colour quality.

The Claw 8 EX AI+ comes with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and includes a single M.2 Gen 4 SSD slot for storage expansion. This setup should give users enough speed for modern games and multitasking.
MSI has also equipped the handheld with dual 2W speakers and TD Audio processing. It supports Hi-Res Audio for users who prefer better sound quality when using compatible headphones or speakers.
Connectivity is another strong point of the new device. The Claw 8 EX AI+ supports WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6, helping provide faster wireless connections. Users also get two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Powering the handheld is an 80Wh battery, the same capacity used in the previous Claw 8 AI+ model. MSI has slightly reduced the weight of the device, making it around 10 grams lighter than its predecessor.
MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ pricing
MSI has not officially confirmed the price of the Claw 8 EX AI+ yet. However, reports suggest the handheld could be priced at around $1,499. The device is expected to become available on June 23.
With its new Intel Arc G3 graphics and powerful Panther Lake processor, the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ looks set to offer a strong gaming experience for players who want high performance in a portable form.
