Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 Remakes Reportedly in the Works at Wizards of the Coast, Buying Time Before BG4

PC Gamer has just published a story revealing that remakes for Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2 are reportedly in development at Wizards of the Coast. PC Gamer's source specifically mentioned Baldur's Gate 2 because Kevin Martens, Co-Lead Designer of the 2000 game at BioWare, is reportedly working on the project. Martens, who has also worked on Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age: Origins, World of Warcraft, Diablo 3, Destiny 2, and Marathon, joined Archetype Entertainment in November 2024 as a Creative Lead to contribute to the new sci-fi IP Exodus. EXODUS Looks Reassuringly Mass Effect-y in New Gameplay

Today, Archetype Entertainment, the Texas-based studio founded by former BioWare employees and owned by Wizards of the Coast, released a new gameplay trailer of its debut game, EXODUS. The short trailer combines three clips: Archetype has also provided a rough roadmap of the news and information that will be shared on EXODUS ahead of the planned early 2027 launch.
