Ball x Pit is one of those indie games that kind of came out of nowhere in 2025, racking up peak player counts of over 35,000 players on Steam and an Overwhelmingly Positive review rating from over 23,000 reviews on the platform. Now, though, it seems as though the developer of the game, Kenny Sun and Friends, may be taking a step back, signing off with its final free content update, The Naturalist Update.

According to the game's Steam update notes, the Naturalist will add two new unlockable characters, 11 new balls, and five new passive abilities to the bullet hell roguelite. The game studio has previewed the new content in a teaser available below, and the update is scheduled to land on August 6 on macOS, PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and Xbox Series consoles. It will be a free update on all platforms.

SK hynix Inc. (or "the company," www.skhynix.com) announced today that it has recorded 79.3187 trillion won in revenues, 60.5426 trillion won in operating profit (with an operating margin of 76%), and 93.9226 trillion won in net profit (with a net margin of 118%), marking an all-time high quarterly performance.

Driven by sustained demand growth from expanding AI infrastructure investments, high-performance products for AI servers led price increases, enabling the company to surpass its previous record set in the prior quarter. Consequently, cumulative revenue for the first half of the year crossed the 100 trillion won mark for the first time in company history. Revenue and operating profit increased by 257% and 557% year-over-year, respectively.

A little over a year ago, Nexus Mods changed hands, with the new owner and lead developer promising to keep the ship running without changing the core philosophy of Nexus Mods. Now, in a year-one update blog, the new owner, Victor Folmann, has detailed his plans for the mod platform going forward.

One of the major points Folmann brought up in his update was the future of Nexus Mods, with planned changes including a wholesale redesign of the Nexus Mods infrastructure. According to Folmann, Nexus Mods "has been modeling mods as files," and he goes on to explain that "Mods are not files. Mods are systems." In order to address this, Folmann says that Nexus Mods will be redesigned to treat mods as systems.

• Sales were $1.23 billion, up 7 percent in US dollars and 5 percent in constant currency, compared to Q1 of the prior year.
• GAAP gross margin was 49.5 percent, up 780 basis points, compared to Q1 of the prior year. Non-GAAP gross margin was 49.8 percent, up 770 basis points, compared to Q1 of the prior year. These numbers include $61 million in tariff refunds.
• GAAP operating income was $259 million, up 60 percent, compared to Q1 of the prior year. Non-GAAP operating income was $290 million, up 44 percent, compared to Q1 of the prior year. These numbers include $61 million in tariff refunds.
• GAAP earnings per share (EPS) was $1.63, up 66 percent compared to Q1 of the prior year. Non-GAAP EPS was $1.85, up 47 percent compared to Q1 of the prior year.

Seagate Technology Holdings plc (NASDAQ: STX) (the "Company" or "Seagate"), a leading innovator of mass-capacity data storage, today reported financial results for its fiscal fourth quarter and fiscal year ended July 3, 2026.

GMKtec has been moving fast with its SFF PC launches, with its latest compact PC, the Neo-X1 and Neo-X1 Pro, reportedly packing some impressive gaming power at an equally high price. The new mini PC uses a mobile AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX in the regular X-1 or an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D in the Pro model, both of which are 16-core, 32-thread CPUs with 55 W TDPs. The Pro comes with an NVIDIA RTX 5070 12 GB, and the non-Pro variant uses an RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB.

The GMKtec Neo series is also water cooled by a built-in AIO, but it's currently not known if that only includes both the CPU and the GPU. The chassis of the Neo series measures in at a very compact 14.6 L, although the company has not yet shared exact dimensions. It features a minimalist design with two metal grab handles on the top, and what looks to be a completely closed off front panel. The front panel has two USB Type-A ports, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, although exact speeds of the front panel I\O is not yet known.

Intel's upcoming "Nova Lake-S" is gearing up for a launch later this year. However, rumors suggest that certain "Nova Lake-S" models with large integrated graphics might require significant power, increasing the TDP and peak power. According to the well-known Intel leaker Jaykihn on X, Intel's 16-core CPU SKU with 12 Xe3P cores will need specialized power delivery, with 65 W dedicated to integrated graphics. This SKU includes four P-Cores, eight E-Cores, and four LPE-Cores, along with 12 Xe3P GPU cores. This 4+8+8+12 core configuration is one of the few processors where integrated graphics require two VCCGT phases. In regular SKUs, VCCGT is a single-phase power rail for the integrated graphics inside the processor. However, since Intel aims to enhance its iGPU performance with "Nova Lake," a single phase is insufficient.

Previously, we learned that Intel's top-end, overclocking-focused, dual compute die "Nova Lake-S" CPU with 52 cores will feature a PL2 mode with a power level of 474 W. This also includes the possibility of three 8-pin CPU power connectors on high-end Z990 motherboards, an intriguing design choice considering that most enthusiast boards typically have two 8-pin EPS CPU connectors. The three 8-pin connectors are mainly intended for the highest-end overclocking designs, rather than being necessary for running the dual compute die designs. Motherboards with either two or three EPS connectors are still expected to support Intel's upcoming high-end 44-core and 52-core processors on the 175 W platform. However, we are likely to see various configurations, and motherboard designs are preparing for higher TDPs. Below image is illustration only.

Alienware has launched the AW2726DL, a 27-inch gaming monitor built around a fast 2560 x 1440 IPS anti-glare coated panel with a 280 Hz refresh rate and response times of 1 ms GTG in Extreme mode (2 ms Super Fast, 4 ms Fast). The display offers 400 nits of brightness, a 1,000:1 native contrast ratio, 93% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and a pixel density of 109 PPI. For smooth gameplay, the monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium and VESA AdaptiveSync variable refresh technologies. The AW2726DL monitor retains the familiar Alienware gaming-focused design with a fully adjustable stand that offers 130 mm of height adjustment, tilt (from -5° to 21°), ±173° swivel and pivot support for portrait mode. In April this year, Alienware has launched the AW2726DM, a 27-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor priced at $350. The AW2726DL model with its IPS panel @280 Hz introduced by Alienware, is now available on the official Dell website for $299.99 and is aimed at users with lower budgets who are seeking an affordable 27-inch monitor with a higher refresh rate.

AMD has released its first Adrenalin Edition July driver, named 26.7.1 WHQL, which brings support for the newly announced AMD Radeon RX 9050 4 GB and 8 GB SKUs. These GPUs are entry-level RDNA 4 models featuring 1,024 Streaming Processors and either 4 GB or 8 GB of GDDR6 memory, depending on the configuration. Although the release wasn't widely advertised, this driver update confirms that availability is coming soon. Additionally, the WHQL driver includes support for new games, such as Gears of War: E-Day Open Beta Early Access and Out of Control Evolution. Months after promising to better support the Linux community, GOG has confirmed that the GOG Galaxy launcher is officially coming to Linux as a native application. According to GamingOnLinux, GOG co-CEO Krzysztof Papliński stated that Linux support is a priority for the company, and they have even hired a specialist to lead the GOG-on-Linux project. Since the release isn't expected anytime soon, the company has refrained from posting any timelines or schedules. It requires significant engineering effort to release a port that includes all of the GOG Galaxy storefront features while maintaining the stability that gamers expect.

Interestingly, there are already ways to use the Windows-compiled version of GOG Galaxy on Linux. These include using Lutris, Heroic Games Launcher, or running Valve's Proton compatibility layer to execute the .exe application directly on Linux. However, a native application is always the better choice. As we wait for GOG to work its magic and release a native port, gamers will have to rely on these workarounds in the meantime.

The Dragon Age franchise has had its ups and downs throughout the years, with Dragon Age: Inquisition being BioWare's best-selling game to date, and, despite The Veilguard's mixed reception, the series still has loyal fans asking for more games, whether they be sequels or remakes. However, in a recent interview with FRVR, the series's creator, Mark Darrah, suggests that it is unlikely that Dragon Age will return in any form whatsoever.

Darrah explains that he had approached EA to make another game after Inquisition's success, but the gaming giant still took over a decade to release Veilguard. He also says that the lackluster performance of Veilguard means that a sequel is unlikely to be pitched at all, never mind be approved.

NVIDIA has released the GeForce 610.88 WHQL Game Ready driver, following last week's 610.82 Beta, which was a targeted fix specifically addressing crashes in Halo: Campaign Evolved and Path of Exile 2 ahead of this full WHQL release. In addition to the resolved crashes in Halo: Campaign Evolved on RTX 50 series GPUs with 610.xx drivers and the Path of Exile 2 solution for its intermittent long pauses after extended DX12 sessions, several other gaming bugs have been fixed. The Silent Hill F receives stability improvements, and Strange Brigade and Zombie Army 4: Dead War no longer crash on exit when the NVIDIA App In-Game Overlay is active. Frame pacing in certain DX11 games when using Smooth Motion with G-SYNC enabled is also improved.

Also, NVIDIA resolved other bugs with the RTX Dynamic Vibrance that were incorrectly applying to Wallpaper Engine and Paint.NET crashes on launch when NVIDIA Surround was enabled.

For decades, defense and aerospace systems have relied on architectures that were not designed for today's data intensity. Analog-heavy signal-processing chains, while effective in earlier generations of radar and sensing systems, pose inherent limitations on scalability, flexibility, and efficiency. As sensor resolution increases, particularly in applications such as phased array radar and infrared imaging, the volume of data grows exponentially, placing unsustainable demands on both processing and power.

At the same time, these systems must operate within fixed SWaP (size, weight, and power) operational limits. In aircraft, power is a shared and finite resource, with competing subsystems drawing from the same limited supply, making it the most constrained resource on the platform.
